      User Manual for GNOV1B    Doc No.:          Rev:  0.4     Page 2 of 2   1. Product Overview  GNOV1B is an embedded GSM/GPRS/EDGE module for use within Stolen Vehicle Tracking products (SVT). This is a Quad-Band GSM device. SVT is a module that performs the functions of tracking and also antitheft. This is accomplished with GPS and GSM/GPRS technologies and vehicle blocking circuitry. The module can receive binary SMS messages from a server and communicate with a server using packet data thus allowing a Service Provider (SP) to monitor the vehicle and obtain the actual position coordinates. SVT allows receiving of GPS satellite signals to determine the position of a vehicle and to transmit it at programmable time intervals to a SP by means of a GSM/GPRS modem radio. 2. Device Installation and User Manual The GNOV1B device is a proprietary GSM module to be used for integration into Telematics devices designed and manufactured by Temic Automotive North America, brand name Continental.  Because the GNOV1B is not intended for sale as a stand-alone device or offered for sale to general public, the owner’s manual and sales brochure are not applicable to this product.   GNOV1B is a GSM engine which is integrated into stolen vehicle tracking (SVT) products.  The SVT devices are designed for use by automotive OEMs.  The SVT device will be installed into vehicles by automotive OEMs.  The SVT device does not have any user interface and requires no interaction with users.  Its operation is fully automated. 3. FCC Note This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. The FCC ID for this device is LHJGNOV1B. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause harmful interference. 2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Changes or modifications to this system by other than an authorized service facility could void authorization to use this equipment. Please note that if the GNOV1B module is integrated into a host device, second label must be placed on the outside of the final device that contains the following text: "FCC ID: LHJGNOV1B". The device must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
