When using this product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury
to persons, including the following:
1. Read and understand all instructions.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.

4. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for

5. Do not use this product near water; for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement or near
a swimming pool.
6. Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand or table. The product may fall, causing serious damage to the product.
7. Slots and openings in the cabinet back or bottom are provided for ventilation. To protect it from overheating, these openings must
not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on the bed, sofa, rug, or other similar
surface. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. This product should not be placed in an
enclosed environment unless proper ventilation is provided.
8. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product where the cord will be abused by animals or persons
walking on it.
9. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in risk of fire or electrical shock.
10. Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts
that could result in a risk of fire or electrical shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.
11. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not disassemble this product. Instead take it to a qualified service person when service or
repair work is required. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect re-assembly
can cause Electrical shock when the appliance is subsequently used.
12. Unplug all cords and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
A. When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
B. If liquid has been spilled into the product.
C. If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
D. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls covered in the
operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and require work by a qualified technician
to restore the product to normal operation.
13. Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from
lightning.
14. Do not use a telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.

cordless telephone battery pack (included).

This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules and the requirements adopted by the
ACTA. On the bottom of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, a
product identifier of US: SBFW901BGH3025TE If requested, this number must be provided
to the telephone company.
The applicable jacks ( i.e. RJ11C ) for this equipment are provided in the packaging with each
piece of approved equipment. The jacks are certified by Universal Service Order Codes
(USOC).
A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network
must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. A
compliant telephone cord and modular plug are provided with this product. They are designed
to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation
instructions for details.
The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be connected to a telephone
line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to
an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To

Table/Desk installation
A. Plug one end of the long telephone line cord into the back of the unit and connect
the other end to a modular wall jack. Press until locking lever clicks. (FIG 1)
B. Connect the AC Adaptor into the back of the unit. Plug the other end into a
standard 110/120 volt outlet.( FIG 1)
C. The message counter will show -- . The unit is checking its memory, and you
should not press any buttons.
D. When you plug in your unit for the first time, it will take approximately 10 seconds
for the unit to check its memory. When the memory check is complete, your
system will announce Answering machine is on , please change the time and
record your announcement. (To record a personalized greeting refer to page
18.)
E. Raise antenna on base for best reception.
F. Place the handset on the base with handset keypad facing out.
The handset will beep, and the will light.CHARGE LED

Preliminary preparation for telephone line installation
1. Never install a telephone jack during a lightning storm.
2. Never install a telephone jack in wet locations unless the jack is specifically
designed for wet locations.
3. Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line
has been disconnected at the network interface.
4. Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
Modular outlet
The GH3025 cordless telephone operates from a standard 110/120 volt outlet. The
handset is powered by a rechargeable battery pack. Batteries are charged
automatically when the handset is placed in the cradle of the base unit.
Power Failure Protection
One 9 volt battery(not included) is required to maintain your personalized greeting
and recorded messages during a power failure. If there is a power failure and the
battery is not installed, both your personalized greeting and recorded messages
will be lost.
Install a replacement battery once a year to ensure proper operation of the power
failure protection feature. Your IN USE/ BATT LOW LED will flash rapidly until
a 9 volt battery is installed. Your unit is fully functional. Battery is needed for
power failure back up ONLY.
If your unit is not operating properly after a power failure, reset the unit as follows.
1. Make sure AC adaptor and telephone line cord are unplugged from the wall
outlets.
2. On the bottom of the base, press on the tab ( toward the battery compartment
door), and then lift the door away from the unit.
3. Replace with a fresh 9 volt battery.
4. Replace battery compartment door.
5. Plug the AC adaptor and telephone line cord back into the wall outlets.
6. Record a new outgoing announcement or you can use the pre-recorded
announcement.

Wall mounting
THE GH3025 CAN BE MOUNTED ON A STANDARD WALL PHONE PLATE.
IF ONE IS NOT AVAILABLE, IT CAN ALSO BE MOUNTED ON TWO SCREWS
(NOT INCLUDED), INSTALLED 3-1/4 VERTICALLY APART IN THE WALL,
LEAVE3/16 OF EACH SCREW EXPOSED FOR MOUNTING THE UNIT.
A. Connect the desk/wall bracket to the bottom of the base in the wall
mount position (FIG 2). You can remove the bracket from the base by
pushingonthetabofthebracket.
B. Place one end of the short telephone line cord into the modular jack
marked TEL LINE located at the back of the base. ( FIG 1)

C. Place the other end of the line cord into the recessed area in the bottom
of the wall mount bracket, and plug into the telephone wall jack.
D. Position the wall mount slots on the bottom of the bracket over the two
studs on the wall plate. Pull down and lock into place. (FIG 3)

E. Connect the AC adaptor into the back of the unit and plug the other end
to the 110/120 volt outlet.
F. The Message counter will show -- . The unit is checking its memory,
and you should not press any buttons.
G. When you plug in your unit for the first time, it will take approximately 10
seconds for the unit to check its memory. When the memory check is
complete, your system will announce

I. Place the handset on the base with handset keypad facing out. Make
sure that the handset guide ( on the base) fits securely into the slot. The
handset will beep, and the will light.
HANDSET BATTERY CHARGING
The battery pack in the handset must be fully charged for about 10-14 hours
before using the telephone. The Answering Machine may be used prior to
the handset being charged.
After connecting the unit to AC power, leave the handset in the base cradle
with handset keypad facing out for ten to fourteen hours before first using
it. Later, it will take less time for the battery to recharge. The
on the base will be lit when the handset is in the cradle. (FIG 4)
NOTE:
A. When the battery gets low, there will be a low-battery beep from the
handset. The button LED will flash slowly.
B. If the battery becomes low while you are on a call, terminate the call
quickly and put the handset in the base to recharge the battery.
C. The battery will hold its charge for several days out of the cradle,
depending on use.

INSTALLATION TELEPHONE OPERATION
TO REPLACE BATTERIES:
To maximize your battery s life, we recommend that you periodically fully discharge the
battery, and then recharge it. To do this, unplug your phone line cord from the wall
phone jack. Press the button, and allow the handset to remain on for 10 to 12TALK
hours. Reconnect the phone cord to the wall phone jack. Return the handset to the
base and allow it to fully charge for 12 hours. If this process is completed monthly, it
will reduce the memory buildup that occurs from frequent partial charging.

To Replace Batteries:
1. Remove battery cover .
3. Plug the cord of the new battery pack into the handset and
place the battery in the battery compartment.
4. Slide battery cover until it clicks in place. Charge 10-14 hours
before first use.

The GH3025 will operate on tone or rotary
(pulse) systems.
1. If your house is wired for rotary
service, move the Tone/Pulse
switch to the Pulse position.
2. If your house is wired for Tone
Service, move the switchTone/Pulse
to the Tone position.
3. If you are unsure of the type of dial-
ing service you have, set the switch
to Tone. On the handset, press the
TALK button and dial any digit on
the keypad. If the dial tone persists,
switch to Pulse. To disconnect, press
the button again, or set the
handset in the cradle.

Your GH3025 Cordless Telephone is
equipped with a digital security coding
system to protect your base unit from
being accessed by other cordless
Telephones.
The code allows your base and handset
to recognize each other so that other
cordless phones will not make calls on
your line.
If the AC adaptor is disconnected or a
loss of power occurs while the handset is

inoperatable. If this occurs, reconnect the
AC adaptor and return the handset to the
base unit so that the security code is
reset.
When the handset is not in the base, only
a handset having the identical security
code and operating on the same channel
can access the base and use your phone
line.
When the handset is in the base, no

identical security code and operating on
the same channel can access the base
and use your phone line.
Digital security coding will also eliminate
the false ringing associated with
cordless telephones not equipped with
this feature.
Your cordless telephone has 40
operating channels. The phone will
automatically search and select the
clearest channel when you press the
TALK button. If you hear noise or other
interference during your conversation,
you can manually select a clearer
channel by pressing and releasing the
CH button on the handset to switch to
another spare channel. Your call will not
be interrupted.

Receiving a Call
When the phone rings:
1. IF THE HANDSET IS OUT OF THE
CRADLE, press any key on the
handset, as you will be connected
automatically.
2. IF THE HANDSET IS IN THE
CRADLE, lift the handset. DO NOT
press the button, as you will
be connected automatically.

NOTE:
You must be in usable range to change
channels. If you press the buttonCH
when you are close to being out of
range, you may lose the call. If this
occurs, place the handset back into the
base for a few seconds to reset the
secrurity code and then make the call again.
1. Make sure the base antenna is in
upright position.
2. TALKLift the handset and press the
button to be connected to the
phone line. The

Making a Call
NOTE:
If you experience difficulty with placing or
receiving calls, the lost security code
may be the cause of the problem. When
this occurs, the handset can no longer
communicate with its base. The loss of
the code can occur any of the following
ways: if the battery is drained and needs
recharging; the AC adaptor is
disconnected or a power loss has
occurred; or anything that causes
electrical interference, for example,
multiple cordless telephones, baby
monitors, televisions VCR s etc.
Reset the security code by placing the
handset on the base for 10 seconds,
removing it from the base, then
replacing it on the base for an additional
10 seconds.
The unit will beep and you can now
make the call. If that does not work,
make sure AC adaptor from the power
source. Disconnect the battery for 5
seconds and then reconnect. Place the
handset on the base and then replug
the AC adaptor (see Troubleshooting).

Setting the Ring Count
The ring count setting will prompt the
to pick up an incoming call
with the answering machine after 2, 4,
or TS (tollsaver 2/4) rings. There is a
ringer switch on the bottom of the base;
adjust this switch to the number of rings
that you desire.
2R: The unit will pick up after two rings.
4R: The unit will pick up after four rings.
TS: The answering machine will pick up after four rings if there are no new
messages or after two rings if there are. This enables you to hang up after the
third ring when checking your messages remotely (which saves toll charges).
Setting the Day and Time

Setting the Announce Mode
There are three different answering modes that the can be set to:
normal (ICM) answering mode, answer only mode, and answer off.
Setting the Answering System Off:
When the answering machine is set off, the answering system will not pick up
until the phone rings 10 times. At that point, the is automatically
turned on, and set to one of the two answer modes below, depending on the
switch setting.
1. Press the ANS key to turn the answering machine on. The system will
announce Answering Machine is On.
2. Press the ANS key again to turn the answering machine off. The system
will announce Answering Machine is Off.
Setting to Normal Answering Mode:

Answering Calls with Answer On
To avoid unnecessary pauses due to hangups, and to save message capacity,
your unit will automatically stop recording after seven seconds of silence.
1. When there is an incoming call the announcement will start.
2. After the announcement plays the will beep indicating that the caller
can record his/her message. The maximum length of the incoming message
is two minutes.
3. The message counter will increase by one with each new message received.
Answering Calls in Announce Only Mode
1. When the telephone rings, the will answer the telephone line
depending on the number of rings selected.
2. The announcement will start playing.
3. Ten seconds after the announcement finishes playing, the phone will
disconnect.
Note: In Answer Only mode, no messages will be recorded.
Answer Off
In this mode, the is designed not to answer the phone. However, if you
let the phone ring 10 times, the answering machine will pick up the phone line
and automatically turn on the answering machine. An announcement will
sound, and allow remote access.

Playing Back New Messages
If there are new messages, the will only play new messages and
memos.Otherwise, all messages and memos are played in the order they were

Deleting Messages
Messages will be saved unless you delete them.
To delete a single message:

Remote Access
The provides several remote functions, which allow you to access the
answerIng system functions from any touchtone telephone. The remote function
is ONLY recognized after a correct remote access code is received.
1. When the answers, after the outgoing message has finished, press

enter an instruction code or press 9 for help. The answering machine will
begin playing the voice help menu.

from defects in materials and workmanship under normal installation, use, and service for a
period of one (1) year from the date of purchase as shown on the purchaser s receipt.
The obligation of Retail Sales under this warrantySouthwestern Bell Freedom Phone
shall be limited to repair or replacement (at our option) during the warranty period of any part
which proves defective in material or workmanship under normal installation, use, and serv-
ice, provided the product is returned to Retail SalesSouthwestern Bell Freedom Phone
(address below) TRANSPORTATION CHARGES PREPAID (California residents call 1-800-
366-0937 for shipping instructions). Products returned to us or to an Authorized Service
Center must be accompanied by a copy of the purchase receipt. In the absence of such pur-
chase receipt, the warranty period shall be one (1) year from the date of manufacture. To
obtain service under this warranty, return the defective product to the service center nearest
you together with your sales slip and $9.50 for postage and handling (California residents
need only provide proof of purchase). You may also have other warranty rights which vary
from state to state.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special, incidental, or consequential
damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you

Freedom Phone Retail Sales assumes no responsibility for damages or penalties incurred
resulting from the use of this product in a manner or location other than that from which it is
