Useonlyanapprovedgasolinecontainer.
Extinguishall cigarettes,cigars,pipesandothersourcesofignition.
Neverfuel machineindoors.
Neverremovegascapor addfuel whilethe engineishot or running.
Allowengineto coolat leasttwo minutesbeforerefueling.
Neveroverfillfuel tank.Filltankto nomorethan1/2inchbelowbottomof
filler neckto providespaceforfuel expansion.
Replace
gasolinecapandtightensecurely.

nozzle.

Usea groundedthree-wkeextensioncordandreceptacleforall machines
with electricstartengines.
Disengage
all controlleversbeforestartingthe engine.
Neverattemptto makeanyadjustmentswhileengineisrunning,except
wherespecificallyrecommended
inthe operator'smanual.
Letengineandmachineadjustto outdoortemperaturebeforestartingto
clearsnow.

Keepthe nozzleincontactwith the rim ofthe fuel tankor containeropening
at all timesuntil fuelingiscomplete.Donot usea nozzlelock-opendevice.

Donot put handsor feetnearrotatingparts,inthe auger/impellerhousing
or chuteassembly.
Contactwith the rotatingpartscanamputatehandsand
feet.

Handcontactwith the rotatingimpellerinsidethe dischargechuteisthe most
commoncauseof injuryassociated
with snowthrowers.Neveruseyourhandto
cleanout the dischargechute.

Theauger/impellercontrolleverisasafetydevice.Neverbypassitsoperation.
Doingsomakesthe machineunsafeandmaycausepersonalinjury.

Toclearthe chute:

SHUTTHEENGINE
OFF!

Thecontrolleversmustoperateeasilyin bothdirectionsandautomatically
returnto the disengagedpositionwhenreleased.

Wait 10secondsto besurethe impellerbladeshavestopped
rotating.

Neveroperatewith amissingor damagedchuteassembly.Keepall safety
devicesin placeandworking.

Alwaysuseaclean-outtool, not yourhands.

MAINTENANCE

Neverrunanengineindoorsor inapoorlyventilatedarea.Engineexhaust

disconnectthe sparkplugwire andgrounditagainstthe engine.Inspect
thoroughlyfordamage.Repairanydamagebeforestartingandoperating.

Priorto storing,runmachineafewminutesto clearsnowfrom machineand
preventfreezeupof auger/impeller.

Disengage
all controlleversandstopenginebeforeyouleavetheoperating
position(behindthe handles).Waituntil the auger/impellercomesto
acompletestopbeforeuncloggingthe chuteassembly,
makingany
adjustments,or inspections.

Neverstorethe machineor fuelcontainerinsidewherethereisanopen
flame,sparkor pilot light suchasa waterheater,furnace,clothesdryeretc.

Neverput yourhandin the dischargeor collectoropenings.Donot unclog
chuteassemblywhileengineisrunning.Shutoff engineandremainbehind
handlesuntil all movingpartshavestoppedbeforeunclogging.

Checkfuel line,tank,cap,andfittings frequentlyforcracksor leaks.Replace
if necessary.

Useonlyattachmentsandaccessories

mixtureor dirty gasoline.Avoidgetting dirt, dust,or waterinthe fueltank.DO
NOT use E15 or E85 gasoline.
Refuelinawell-ventilatedareawith the enginestopped.Donot smokeor
allowflamesor sparksinthe areawherethe engineis refueledor where
gasolineisstored.

Alwayskeephandsandfeet dear of equipment moving parts. Donot usea
pressurizedstarting fluid. Vaporsareflammable.
Removethe gascap,checkthe fuel levelandaddfuel if necessary.
Fillthe
tank untilthe fuel reaches1/2"belowthe bottomof the filler neckto allow
forfuel expansion.Becarefulnotto overfill.

Checkingand Adding Oil

Theengine isshippedwithout oil in the engine.Youmustfill the engine
with oil beforeoperating. Runningthe engine with insufficientoil can
causeseriousengine damageandvoid the productwarranty.

whenpushing,forcesfuel directlyinto the engine's
carburetorto aidincold-weatherstarting.

Insertignitionkeyinto slot.Makesureit snapsinto place.Donot attemptto
