When doing a second cut, mow across or perpendicular to the first cut path. • Change your cutting pattern from week to week. Mow north to south one week IMPORTANT: For best performance, keep mower housing free of built-up grass and trash. Clean after each use. • The special mulching blade will recut the grass clippings many times and reduce them in size so that as they fall onto the lawn they will disperse into the grass and not be noticed. Also, the mulched grass will biodegrade quickly to provide nutrients for the lawn. Always mulch with your highest engine (blade) speed as this will provide the best recutting action of the blades. • Avoid cutting your lawn when it is wet. Wet grass tends to form clumps and interferes with the mulching action. The best time to mow your lawn is the early afternoon. At this time the grass has dried and the newly cut area will not be exposed to the direct sun. • For best results, adjust the mower cutting height so that the mower cuts off only the top one-third of the grass blades. For extremely heavy mulching, reduce your width of cut on each pass and mow slowly. then change to east to west the next week. This will help prevent matting and graining of the lawn. 17 CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE FILL IN DATES ASYOOCOMPL E REGULAR SERVICE Interlock Systems SERVICE t-,c, DATES __/_ tl_ R Check T Lubrication 0 Check Battery Level Sharpen/Replace Mower Blades Clean Battery and Terminals R for Loose I Check Fasteners _ 1_/'7 Chart Transaxle If _4 V' Cooling Adjust Blade Belt(s) Adjust Motion Check Engine Change V' Tension Drive Belt(s) V's Tension Oil Level Ks _ V' Engine Oil E N CleanAirFilter Clean Air Screen G Inspect _2.= Replace E Clean I_ _: Muffler/Spark i_ ° - _0_,_ _ Check Operator Presence and T 1 2 3 4 _____ ___._-/_,..__/_ Arrester I_ Oil Filter (If equipped) Engine Cooling 11_1.2 Fins Replace Replace Spark Plug Air Filter Paper Replace Fuel Filter 1_2 _Vw2 Cartridge V r If Change more oflen when operating uP,tier a heavy load or in _gh imbient Sewme more often when operating in dirty or dusty conditions.
