The DCS-8515LH provides a range of features to help you eectively monitor large areas of your home or small oce at all hours of the day. The pan/tilt function allows the camera to patrol a wide area, while the built-in IR LEDs provide around the clock surveillance regardless of the lighting conditions. Extra details are captured in 720p high-denition, 1 megapixel resolution and H.264 compression saves space without sacricing performance. Wireless connectivity means there is no need for additional cabling. 6D-Link DCS-8515LH User ManualSection 2: InstallationGetting StartedTo mount your camera on a wall or ceiling, please follow the steps below. It is recommended that you congure the camera before mounting.Step 1Place the mount at the desired location, assuring that location of the power cord thread is also at the desired location. Use a pencil to mark the holes. Step 2Using a 6 mm drill bit, drill two 25 mm deep holes over the pencil marks. For a plaster, drywall, or concrete wall, insert the plastic anchors to support the screws rst. Step 3Place the mount over the holes that are in the wall. Make sure to align the mount holes with the holes in the wall. Use the supplied screws to attach the mount to the surface of the wall.123Mounting the Camera

Do not open the device or attempt to repair or service it.2. Use the device in a dry location, and avoid placing it in a humid environment.3. Do not submerge the device in liquid or attempt to clean it with liquids or solvents. To clean the device, disconnect from the power outlet and use a damp towel.4. This device should only be used indoors.Plan the location of your cameras:1. Verify that your cameras are electrically rated to operate with the power available in your location.2. Connect cameras into electrical outlets that are not controlled by a wall switch. This will help you to avoid accidentally turning o power to the device.3. Be sure to plug the power cables into properly grounded electrical outlets in order to help prevent against electrical shock.
10D-Link DCS-8515LH User ManualSection 2: InstallationWireless Installation ConsiderationsThe DCS-8515LH connects to your network using a wireless connection from anywhere within the operating range of your wireless network. However, the number, thickness and location of walls, ceilings, or other objects that the wireless signals must pass through, may limit the range. Typical ranges vary depending on the types of materials and background RF (radio frequency) noise in your home or business. The key to maximizing wireless range is to follow these basic guidelines:1. Minimize the number of walls and ceilings between your adapter and other network devices - each wall or ceiling can reduce your adapter’s range from 3-90 feet (1-30 meters).2. Be aware of the direct line between network devices. A wall that is 1.5 feet thick (.5 meters), at a 45-degree angle appears to be almost 3 feet (1 meter) thick. At a 2-degree angle, it looks over 42 feet (14 meters) thick. Position your devices so that the signal will travel straight through a wall or ceiling (instead of at an angle) for better reception.3. Building materials make a dierence. A solid metal door or aluminum studs may weaken the wireless signal. Try to position your access points, wireless routers, and other networking devices where the signal passes through drywall or open doorways. Materials and objects such as glass, steel, metal, walls with insulation, water (sh tanks), mirrors, le cabinets, brick, and concrete will degrade your wireless signal.4. Keep your product at least 3-6 feet or 1-2 meters away from electrical devices or appliances that generate RF noise.5. If you are using 2.4 GHz cordless phones or other radio frequency sources (such as microwave ovens), your wireless connection may degrade dramatically or drop completely. Make sure your 2.4 GHz phone base is as far away from your wireless devices as possible. The base transmits a signal even if the phone in not in use.

Bluetooth needs to be enabled on your phone.Step 4:When you are asked to scan a QR code, select Yes or No.If you selected Yes:Scan the QR code on the bottom of the the camera, then press Next.If you selected No:Select the DCS-8515LH camera from the list, then press Next.Select Next and continue to follow the onscreen instructions.Final Step:Congratulations, your HD Pan & Tilt Wi-Fi Camera is now ready to use! Be sure to check the www.mydlink.com website periodically for the latest rmware updates to keep your product secure and up to date with the latest features.Note: If you experience issues registering this camera with your mydlink account, or if you purchased an open box or resold unit, perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the recessed reset button on the camera for 10 seconds while the device is powered on, making sure that you see the LEDs turn o.
13D-Link DCS-8515LH User ManualSection 3: mydlinkAfter setting up your DCS-8515LH camera with a mydlink account in the mydlink app, you will be able to remotely access your camera through the app. After signing in to your mydlink account, you will see a screen similar to the following.If you have previously enabled "Add to shortcut" option while installing the camera, you will see a quick link to your camera directly on the home screen.Note: Screenshots are representative only. The mydlink app is constantly improving and so may appear dierent.Using the mydlinkTM AppControlling Your DeviceClick on the shortcut link to your camera on the home screen and by default you will see a live video feed of your camera on the top half of the app.Or, you can access your DCS-8515LH by tapping the Menu icon in the top-left corner, select Control, and select Camera. In the selected device group page, you can select the specic camera in the carousel by tapping its icon.

How can I access my DCS-8515LH remotely through the Internet?In order to use your DCS-8515LH remotely through the Internet using the mydlink app, you must register your camera with a mydlink account. You can do this using the free mydlink app. 2. How do I update the rmware of my camera?You can update your camera’s rmware by using the mydlink app. Please refer to the camera's settings page.3: What do I need to do before I upgrade from the mydlink Lite app to the mydlink app?Please refer to the app's store page for device compatibility requirements.Note: You can use the same mydlink account to log into the mydlink app.4: Do I have to sign up for a new mydlink account when transferring to the mydlink app?No, you don’t need to sign up for a new mydlink account.
