Keep it near to you for future reference. BUTTONS POWER Press and hold for some seconds to power on the device. While it is on, hold this button pressed to enter to the Energy Saving mode. Once there, you can wake up your device again by shortly pressing the POWER key. To go back to Energy Saving Mode, short press POWER again. VOLUME VOL+ / VOL- : Increase audio volume / Decrease volume. ACTIVATE / DEACTIVATE the Energy Saving Mode Short press POWER located on the upper right corner of the device. In this mode, it will turn off the screen to save the battery energy. Once on the Energy Saving Mode, you can wake up the device by short pressing POWER again. LOCK / UNLOCK the screen You can lock the screen of the device. From the menu, is possible to set up the unactive time afther wich the device will lock the screen automatically. Touche the icon to unlock the screen. The device will return to the Main Screen. MAIN FUNCTIONS - Capacitive Multi-Touch screen 7” 800 x 480 px. - Supports almost all the audio and video formats. Check out Google Play Store for tons of programs to increase compatibility even more. The battery icon shows a low charge. B. The sistem shuts down and is imposible to turn the device on. C. the keys are not working propery. - During the format process, upload and download of data, don´t turn off the device. Wait for the process to finish before disconnecting the device 2 from your computer. Not doing so may cause damage on the files and on the device. - An static energy discharge during the connection with the computer may also damage the file and the device. - The images of this guide may sightly vary from the device. Main Screen After turning on the device, the Main Screen is shown as in the following picture: On the bottom of this screen, you´ll find different navigation buttons allways available to choose. No matter what you´re doing on your device, you´ll be able to go back to the Main Screen by pressing the buttons on the bottom bar. Back: go to the previous page, or previous application. Once you reach the Main Screen you can go back further. Home: go to the Main Screen. Or if you´re looking the rigth or left screen of the Desktop, this icon will take you back to the central screen. Recient Apps: Shows a list of the apps used recently. To open one of them, touch on it. To erase one or a group of the list, de la lista, slide your finger on it from left to right., Note: En algunas aplicaciones estos botones se convertirán en unos puntos, pero mantendrán sus funciones. System Notifications: slide your finger from the top to the bottom of the screen to see the Notifications Center. Status icons: Shows the status of the internet connection, volume, battery and hour. All the apps: Touch to see a list of all the apps and widgets installed on the device. Internet Browser On the Main screen or the screen of “All the Applications”, ttouch the icon to open the Internet Browser. Touch to open a new window. Touch to see the visited web pages and the bookmarks list. Touch to add to your favourites. Touch to see more options. Settings From the Main Screen or the screen of “All the Applications”, touch the configuration icon to enter to the following screen: a) Wirekess & Networks: Touch to see the Wi-Fi Adjustments, where you´ll be able to see the status of your connection. On this screen also, touching the option Wi-Fi Settings, the device will search fot the available networks and it´ll create list of them to establish a connection. On the list of Wi-Fi Networks, touching any of the elements of the list, it´s possible to see the intensity of the signal and choose your network to start the connection. T Touching the menu icon you´ll be able to see more options. b) Sound: Touch Settings> Volume > Notifications to set the sounds of the alerts. Touch Sound > Sound of Screen Lock to set the sound when blocking the screen. c) Screen: Follow this path to set up the screen of your device: Settings > Brightness, Wallpaper, Screen rotation, Hibernation, Font size. d) Storage: Touch SD and Storage to see the setup screen. e) Battery: In this screen you can see the current status of the battery. f) Applications: Touch to see the list of installed apps and manage them. g) Location and Services: Here you can configure the location services options. h) Security: here you can set up the security of the device. i) Backup & restart: This option lets you restart your device to the factory settings. j) Language and Keyboard: Touch to configure the language options and the keyboard input method. k) Accesibility: Accesibility Setup screen. l) Date and Hour: Date and Hour settings. m) About the device: More details about the device. Note: It´s very important to thake your time to do the system settings before starting to use the device. Installing Applications You can install Apps on your device. To do it go to the main screen, touch the APK installer icon . You´ll see the following screen, where the system will search for the application to install. The system can search for the apps installed on the diferent storage media. On the list of applications, touch the icon to see the following submenu: Install/uninstall: touch to install/uninstall an application. Select All: Selects all the apps. Deselect All: deselects all the apps. Refresh: Update the content of the list of apps. About: Information about the APK installer. 10 Email You can send or receive Emails right from your device using the “Mail” app. Playing videos From the Main Screen or the screen of “All the Applications”, touch the video player icon to see a list of all the videos available on your device. Use your finger to navigate the list upside down. Touch on the video that you want to play. You´ll see the video playback screen. The icons on this screen has the following functions: Progress bar: let you see the time progress of the video. Slide your finger over it to fast forward/rewind the video playback. 11 touch to go back to the previous directory. touch to play the previous video. touch and hold to rewind a video. pause/play a video. touch and hold to fast forward a video. play the next video. shows a submenu with the following options: screen mode (normal, full screen, 4:3, 16:9) Continuous mode (enable/disable) Playback style (repeat all/one) brightness (1,2,3,4,5,6) Information about the file: name, format, size, resolution, duration. Music From the Main Screen or the screen of “All the applications”, touch the Music icon to see the music player. Shows all the songs. Arrange songs by artist. Arrange songs by album. Show the newest songs. Slide your finger from the bottom to the top of the screen to navigate the list. 12 The icons of the music player has the following functions: Progress bar: let you see the time progress of the video. Slide your finger over it to fast forward/rewind the music playback. touch to go to the beginning of a song touch and hold to go fast forward the song playback, touch to go to the next song. Pause/Play a song. touch to see the list of music. touch to Enable/Disable the shuffle playback mode. Enable/Disable the repetition mode: Repeat one or all the songs. 13 Gallery From the Home screen or the All Apps screen, touch the Gallery icon . The Gallery is used to view photo files on your device. you can also download another APK program to view photos from Google Play or other origins. The interface is shown as the picture below: Touch this icon go tho the Camera app directly. Choose an album,then choose a photo to see the photo. When you see a picture, touch icon to view a popup submenu with more options. File Browser From the Main Screen or the “All Apps” screen, touch the FileBrowers icon . This program lets you manage your data on the device (feles, songs, videos, pictures, etc). 14 Select/open mode: when this icon popup light, you can play the music/movie direactly; when this icon is grey, you´ll see the edition menu (cut, copy, paste, delete) Show home page Select/open mode Show edit dialog Show sort dialog Back to parent dir View by thumbnail Help Calculator From the Home or the “All Apps” screen, touch the Calculator icon enter the corresponding interface, you can all sort of mathmatic operations here. Calendar From the Home screen or the “All Apps” screen, touch the Canlendar icon to enter the corresponding interface, Clock From the Home screen or the “All Apps” screen, touch the Clock icon to enter the corresponding interface, you can set up the clock here and add an alarm. Camera From the Home screen or the “All Apps” screen, touch the icon of the camera to see the image capture menu: 15 Shift front and back camera White balance Unhide setting menu Touch to comfirm take photo Exposure Touch to shift take photo to picture recording Shift front and back camera Hide setting menu Start or pause recording picture Shift recording picture to take photo Pause recording picture Troubleshooting The device cannot be turned on. Please charge it via the DC charger to check if the battery is low. If not, then please reset the MID. 16 No sound can be heard from the earphones. 1. Check if the volume is set as 0. Adjust the volume as required. 2. Check the volume of the file attempting to be played. 3. Confirm the earphone is properly connected. Noise through earphones. 1. Check if the earphone plug is clean, foreign particles can cause static to be heard through the earphone during playback. 2. Check if the music file is damaged. Confirm by playing other music. The damaged file might create serious noises or voice dithering. How to power on/off the device. Please press power key and hold for 3S. This period will need several seconds, please wait patient. Incorrect language displayed. Please make sure that you have selected the correct language. Set language in (Settings) => (personal) => (Language &input) Files cannot be downloaded. 1. Make sure the proper connection between your computer and the device. 2. Check if the memory is full. 3. Check if the USB cable is damaged and replace if necessary. Audio / Video files not playable. Please check that the files transferred to the VORTEX Color are in the correct format. Some files may need to be re encoded to be played on this device. Fail to open the web page.
