POWER SUPPLY(BATTERY)Inserting a batteryOpen the battery cover.Close the battery cover.Insert the batteries.Be sure to match the + and - endsof the batteries with the diagraminside the battery compartment.To avoid corrosion, remove thebatteries if the remote controller is notto be used for a long time.Remove dead batteries immediately toavoid damage from corrosion.When corrosion occurs, wipe dryimmediately with a dry cloth and inserta new battery.Note 48TROUBLE SHOOTINGShould any problem persist after you have checked these symptoms, consult youriRiver dealer.No Power On No Sound or noise is heardCharacters in LCD arecorrupted.FM is not heard well.Failed download of MP3 fileCheck whether the batteries have been inserted inproper polarity.Check whether the HOLD switch in player orremote is ON (Switch to OFF position)Check whether the rechargeable batteries are notcharged.Check whether VOLUME is set to "0". Connect theearphones/remote plug firmly. Check whether plug is dirty. Clean the plug with adry and soft cloth.Corrupted MP3, WMA file may have a static noiseor sound cut off.Check out Menu Display Language andconfirm whether the right language has beenselected. Adjust the position of the player and earphone.Turn off the power of other electric devices nearbythe player. If it does work, please move away theplayer and work it from a distance. Earphone does function as the antenna. Check the condition of the battery or the USBconnection between your PC and the player.49

To avoid corrosion, remove the batteries if the remote controller is not to be used for along time.On Headphones and EarphonesRoad Safety Do not use headphones/earphones while driving, cycling, or operating any motorizedvehicle. It may create a traffic hazard and is illegal in some areas. It can also bepotentially dangerous to play your headsets at high volume while walking, especially atpedestrian crossings. You should exercise extreme caution or discontinue use inpotentially hazardous situations. Preventing hearing damage Avoid using headphones/earphones at high volume. Hearing experts advise againstcontinuously loud and extended play. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reducevolume or discontinue use.Consideration for others Keep the volume at a moderate level.
