System overview7System overviewThe DW 800 wireless system:ygives a standard wired telephone the ability forwireless telephony via a headsetyfits any Sennheiser telecom headsetydoes not interfere with normal telephone functionsand you can use your telephone in the usual wayyallows intercommunication between up to fivemobile unitsypermits conference calls between up to fourpersonsyallows voice over IP (internet telephony)The system consists of the DW 800 docking stationand two identical mobile units.A wireless link is established between the mobileunits. For telephoning purposes, one mobile unit hasto stay in the left-hand charging slot of the dockingstation. This mobile unit establishes the telephoneconnection. The second mobile unit, to which a headset isconnected, can be moved around, thus allowingwireless telephony. When the built-in rechargeablebattery of a mobile unit is going flat, the two mobileunits can be exchanged without having to end acurrent call. The DW 800 wireless system is based on state-of-the-art wireless technology. The indoor operating range isup to 150 m. If there is a free line of sight between thedocking station and a mobile unit, the range is up to300 m. The talking time is approx. 12 hours. Thesound quality is excellent – as you have come toexpect from Sennheiser.
