(b). • Laythe Refrigeratoron its back(coil side)to access Ihe bottompanel area. • Disassemblethe burner box (Dg). • RemovegreypJezoignitor (C5),temperaturecontrol (C2) and gascontrol(C3) knobs from whitebushings. • Placethe Refrigeratorin ils definite position.Turn the bolts (B1) untilthe Refrigeraloris revel.Removeit again from its location, • Usingpliers,carefullybend and removesplit pinsfrom whitebushings.Removebushingsfromcontro_ reds, • Using1/4" nutdriver,remove screws(10) fromgrey steel support panel.Pushsupped panel down to access hinge placementarea. • Prepareto reset rowerhinge on opposilesideby holding ra_ support platewhilemounting lower hinge (F4) lo cabinet. • Connectthe gassupplyto the manualshut eft valve (DI3). Nextday:setthe thermostat knobto the defrost position (C6) for at least five minutescheckingthat the flame does not goout. o Set the thermostatIo withinits normal range (C7). 5.2 Absorption Refrigerators are different,.. If the Refrigeratoristo be remoeedfor maintenanceor the like, closethevalve and uncouplethe union.The valve will keepthe end of the connectorsealed,thus maintaining the gas supplysystemoperational b) Close and then immediatelyopenIha selectorvalve To reconnectthe Relr_gerator,simplyhook-upthe union again, openthe valve and use detergentto checkfor leaks at Eneunion and adjoining fittings.The unionshould notbe overl[ghtened.Tighlenfirm_ with the hand and then a larther 10 or 20 degreeswithan open-endwrench, or untilthere are no leaks. 6.4 The thermostatic valve and the bypass (Fig. G) [c3), The flame wil_go outbul the gassupplywillcontinueto flow. c) Listen carefully. In about 30 to 40 seconds you will hear a slight but very dislinct "c1_c_€' to signify that the valve has closed. The temperatureis sensedvia a coppercapillarytube (Gt) risingbehind theRel_gerator(D3) and w_hthe tip reachingintoa receplacleon Ihe evaporator(El). The lemperatureo!the tip and thepositronofthe shaft (G4) causethe passageotgas tothe bume_to opento a greateror lesserextenl. Whenreinstalling the capillary tube altera repair,make sure that it fits properlyinto the _eceptacleand caulkthe cutlet {D2)with sealing compound, Evenwhenthethem]esteLla valveis closed,a small amount of gasstill p_ssesIhroughto keep the flame alight and Ihe Freezercompartment operating, This gas is meteredbyan orifice [n the bypass screw (G6). The orificeis nonadjustableand the screw indicatesthe capacity. 05 6,5 Pressure outlet 6.8 The flue tube (Fig. I) The plug (G5) can be removedand replacedby a pressureoultetcoupledto a pressuregauge. With the Refrigeratoroperatingand the Ihennostat adjustedto the coldestsetting,the pressureshouldbe Ihe same as the supply pressure,or 11inches (280 ram) water column. The burnerisIocaledbeneaththe fluetube(14). Them is a baffle(15)in Ihetube to improveheattransfer of the combustiongases,and also a chock(13)to limit lhe excessair passingboughlheflue tube.
