Thiswarrantyis availableonlyto the personto whomthe unit wasoriginallysold byDanbyor byan authorizeddistributorof Danby,andisnon-transferable.
TERMSOFWARRANTY
PIasticparts(ie.evaporatordoor,door rails,coversandtraysare warrantedfor thirty(30)daysonlyfrom purchasedate,withno extensionsprovided.
FirstYear

Duringthe first year(1), anyelectricalpartsof thisproductfoundto bedefective,includingany sealedsystemunits,willbe repairedor
replaced,at warrantor'soption,at no chargetothe ORIGINALpurchaser.
Consumableparts(ie. lightbulbs)are notwarrantedor
guaranteedfor any lengthof time.

SecondThrough

Duringthe next fouryears (4)any part ofthe sealedsystemfoundto be defective(consistingof compressor,condenser,evaporator,

Thisappliancemustbegrounded.Intheeventofanelectricalshort
circuit,groundingreducesthe riskd electricalshockby providing

Removeexteriorand interiorpackings,wipethe outsidethoroughly
with a softdry cloth andthe insidewitha wet, lukewarmcloth. Avoid
placingthecabinetin a narrowrecessor nearanyheatsource,direct
sunlight,or moisture.Letair circulatefreelyaroundthecabinet. Keep
the rear ofthe refrigerator5 inchesawayfrom the wall.
Location
1. Selecta placewith a strong,levelfloor.
2. Allow 5 inchesof spacebetweenthe back of the refrigeratorand
anyadjacentwall.
3. Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Direct sunlight may affect the
acryliccoating. Heat sourcesnearbywill causehigherelectricity
consumption.
4. Avoidvery moistplaces. Too muchmoisturein the air will cause
frostto formvery quicklyon the evaporator,and your refrigerator
will haveto be defrostedmorefrequently.

To avoid vibration,the cabinet mustbe set level. This is accomplishedby
adjustingthe (2)front levelinglegs locatedunderthe refrigeratorcabinet. To
startthe refrigerator,turnthe temperaturecontrol (OFF-MAX)to the position
correspondingto the desiredcooling.
OFF = No Cooling
1= Minimum Cooling

4 = MediumCooling
MAX= MaximumCooling

This refrigeratoris inclusiveof a cycledefrostsystem.
Therefrigeratorhasa cold platelocatedin behindthe back
wallof therefrigeratorcabinet. Ice build-upon the backwall
duringcompressoroperationisnormal. Whenthecompressor
hascycledoff, accumulatedice willdefrostautomatically.
Defrostwaterwill collectinsidethe draintroughpassthrough
the drainoutletlocatedat the bottomof thecabinetand flJnnel
intoa drain pansituatedabovethe compressor.Thewaterwill
thenevaporatefromthis tray from the heatofthe compressor.
REMINDER: Keepthedrain outletopeningclearof anyfood
particlesor otherimpediments. This willensurethe watercan
funnelto the drainpan withoutobstruction. Failureto keep
this outletcleanmayresult in wateroverflowingthetrough,
causingwaterto accumulateat the bottomof the refrigerator,
eventuallyleakingontoyourfloor. Pleasewipethistroughand
drainoutletwith a softcloth as required.

Cleaning
Tocleanthe inside,usea softcloth and a mixtureof one
tablespoonof bakingsodato one quartof water. Othercleaning
solutionsoptionsare a mildsoapsudssolution,or milddetergent.
Washglass shelvesin a milddetergentsolution,then dryand
wipewitha soft cloth. Cleanthe outsidewith a softdampcloth
and somemilddetergentor appliancecleaner.
Vacation Time
Forshortvacationperiods,leavethe controlknobat its normal
setting. Duringlongerabsences;
(a) removeall foods,
(b) disconnectpowercordfrom electricaloutlet
(c) cleanthe refrigeratorthoroughly,includingdefrostpan,
locatedabovecompressorat backof unit.
(d) leavedoor opento avoidpossibleformationsof condensate,
moldor odors.
Power Failure
Mostpowerfailuresare correctedwithinan houror two and will
not affectyour refrigeratortemperatures.However,youshould
minimizethe numberof door openingswhilethe poweris off.
Duringpowerfailuresof longerduration,take stepsto protect
yourfoodby placingdry iceon top of packages.
If You Move
Removeor securelyfastendownall looseitemsinsidethe
refrigerator.Toavoiddamagingthe levelinglegs,turnthem all
theway intothebase.

Food Storage Suggestions
FreshFoodCompartment
• Nevercoverfood compartmentshelveswith aluminumfoil or
anyothershelfcoveringmaterialwhichmay prevent
air circulation.
• Alwaysremoveporousstorewrappingpaperfrom meats,
poultryand fish. Meatsshouldbe wrappedindividually
and placedin a dishfor storage. Wrapfish and poultryin foil
or heavywaxedpaper. Mostfish shouldbe usedthe sameday
of purchase.Packagedmeatssuch as ham,bacon,driedbeef,
or frankfurter,storebest in theiroriginalpackages.
• Allowwarmfoodsto coolto roomtemperaturebeforeplacing
themin the refrigerator.
• Alwayscoveropendishesof food,especiallyleftovers.Use
leftoverswithin 2 or 3 days.
Vegetable Crisper
Thevegetablecrisperis locatedat the bottomof the refrigerator
compartmentand is coveredto retainmoisture.Thecrisper
compartmentwill enableyouto storefruitsandvegetableswhich
wouldotherwisedry outrapidly.Thehumiditylevelinsidethe
crispercan be controlledbyadjustingtheslidingdampercontrol
locatedat the frontof the crisperdrawer.

a standard 40 watt appliance light bulb which can be
purchased at most local hardware and grocery
stores. To replace the light bulb, (no tools required)
simply unscrew light bulb and install replacement.
