M24W Manual.doc Model 24 W ISO-15693 Keyboard Wedge Introduction The Model 24W Keyboard Wedge is a readonly device that rapidly and accurately captures a badge identification (BID) number from either an ISO14443A or ISO15693 physical security credential. The captured BID is sent to one of four GE-Interlogix software products: Secure Perfect, Secure Perfect Imaging, Picture Perfect or Access Vision Imaging, doing so as if the BID had been entered from a keyboard. The M24W Keyboard Wedge is a data entry convenience device. It is not an access control reader. The M24W does not communicate with microcontrollers, or contribute to the determination of access privileges. M24W versions There are four version of the Model 24W Keyboard Wedge available; 430185001 for M24W, 110VAC, 16-digit output 430186001 for M24W, 230VAC, 16-digit output 430189001 for M24W, 110VAC, 12-digit output 430190001 for M24W, 230VAC, 12-digit output Currently Secure Perfect can only support 12-digit BID numbers. ISO15693 BID’s are 16-digits long. The 12-digit output versions of the M24W Keyboard Wedge will truncate the high-order 4 digits of an ISO15693 BID credential, making the resulting BID compatible with Secure Perfect.
