Faulty wiring on a telephone will only effect that phone and not the whole system You have a choice of connection systems. Also, if the mains power fails the door entry system will continue to function (even ac lock releases) with isolated connections as 5141 with 5115 isolated line telephone board fitted. This means that each telephone cable is ISOLATED from the system. Unpluggable connections throughout This makes wiring much faster and easier to check. In addition it is less likely that wiring errors will be made, since all connections can be seen in the power supply. Up to 8 telephones to be individually connected with full isolation. That means that damaged or shorted phone connection will not effect the system operation.
