The new IBM 4247 Model V03 Printer Stand: • Supports dual continuous forms front tractor paper paths with easy loading and unloading of forms An open printer stand designed specifically for the Model V03 is now available. This table only applies to 4247-003 printers shipped after August 26, 2003, with Internal Base Code Level 6.05 or above. If Code 6.05 is required on a 4247-003 printer that shipped with earlier code, an RPQ must be submitted. A procedure to determine the level of code installed in a printer is explained in the Supplementary information in this letter. For easy identification of boxed printers that have code level 6.05 and higher, the printer part number printed on the box label has been changed from 01PXXXX to 75PXXXX (where XXXX can be any number). The 01PXXXX numbers were used on printers shipped prior to 6.05 code. IBM 4247-V03 Printer Stand All of these replacements and additions are easily installed by customers, and do not require IBM Field Engineering for installation. The IBM 4247-V03 Printer Stand has three main sections: • A flat table surface to hold the printer • An input paper tray to hold forms before they are fed through the printer • An output paper tray for stacking forms after they are printed The table is designed specifically to support the features of the IBM 4247-V03, and since this stand accommodates the footprint and weight of the 4247-V03, printer vibration is minimized. Bulk order for optional features For most products, the quantity of any feature that can be ordered is the same as the maximum number of the feature allowed per machine. Since the IBM 4247-003 features are now all customer setup (for 4247 Model 003 with Licensed Internal Code Level 6.05 or higher), in some cases it is desirable to bulk order certain features so that machines can be easily reconfigured by Business Partners and end users. Thus, for 4247-003 MES features, the maximum order quantity is normally 10, which is greater than the maximum that can be installed on one printer. When dual continuous forms are used, one form rests on the input paper tray and the other form rests on the floor underneath the input tray. The printer stand is customer set-up and can be easily assembled in about 30 minutes. The original higher-priced enclosed cabinet style printer stand (#4462) is still available. Improved configurability for the IBM 4247-V03 Printer A field-installable option to install Coax SCS (#4232) is now available. Previously, Coax SCS was available as an initial order feature only. This new feature is easily installed by a customers, and can be used to field replace the following adapters: The maximum number of initial-order attachment features that can be ordered is one. Use the MES feature numbers for bulk orders. The stand accommodates two continuous forms and a separator in the front of the stand is used to ensure that the forms are kept separate. • • • • • Installed attachment adapter* The print speed of the IBM 4247-003 has been improved slightly for models with internal base code level 6.05 and higher. The present enclosed cabinet printer stand is still available. The open printer stand does not offer the refined appearance of the enclosed cabinet.
