DDST IV Digital Data Station Termination Unit F E AT U R E S ● Intelligent, auto-rate adaptive digital Network Interface Unit ● Provides for a loopback point at the TELCO/customer’ s demarcation point ● Type 400 circuit plugs into a standard NCTE mounting assembly ● All-rate capability from 2.4 to 64 kbps, including Switched 56 ● Provides comprehensive DSO performance information ● Monitors the network and equipment side of the circuit ● Communicates non-intrusively with the SD4 OCU DP/PM ● Regeneration feature provides for extended range operation on loops with loss to -45dB ● Industry-leading 10 year warranty The ADTRAN DDST IV is a high-performance auto-rate adaptive digital network interface unit for DDS and Switch 56 transmission over a 4-wire loop with up to 45dB of loss. The DDST IV adds intelligence and comprehensive DS0 Performance Monitoring to digital circuits by monitoring both the network and the equipment sides for error performance and signal quality. Utilizing advancements in VLSI and custom integrated circuit technology, this low cost unit provides all rate capability and real-time error reporting. Automatic adaptive equalization is employed, permitting reliable reception of low loop signals, eliminating the need for loop repeaters in many installations. The DDST IV reports “far-end” DS0 loop performance information to the ADTRAN SD4 OCU DP/PM, an intelligent OCU dataport, non-intrusively, using an “ESF-like” communication link between the two units. The communication link provides for analysis of unit provisioning, inventory information, and comprehensive loop performance information. This information can be accessed when the OCU DP/PM is deployed in the ADTRAN ACT 2300/1900 channel banks or standard WECO D4 using the ADTRAN intelligent LIU-3/PM. These intelligent platforms provide a user interface to access the OCU DP/PM and DDST IV through a menu driven interface called EasyMenu™. EasyMenu allows C.O. personnel to view performance data for historical trending, provision the DDST IV remotely, and access alarm information for trouble analysis. The DDST IV is a part of the ADTRAN product line of intelligent network products used to provide performance monitoring, local and remote provisioning, and enhanced trouble analysis capabilities to new and existing special services networks.
