GE Security Fire & Life Safety Smoke Detection Overview Standard Features The supervised photoelectric smoke alarms/detectors are selfdiagnostic Learn Mode wireless sensors with 319.5MHz transmitters with a self-contained sounder, a low battery annunciator, status LED, and integrated fixed temperature and rate-of-rise heat sensor. Each unit will communicate an alarm condition to a GE compatible control panel. In addition, the mounting tamper will send a trouble condition if the detector is removed from the base. • 3V Lithium battery operated The supervised wireless models are available in two types. The TX Series residential supervised models can be used with all GE Security control panels that support wireless devices and the commercial 60-849 Series supervised wireless models can only be used with Advent commercial panels. Supervised wireless models ship with batteries and transmitters included. • Learn Mode • Field replaceable optical chamber • Built-in 85dB temporal sounder • Built-in drift compensation • Built-in heat detection • 319.5MHz crystal transmitter • Alarm signal sent to central station on test • Low battery prealarm sent to control station All of the battery operated photoelectric smoke detectors continually monitor operational status and provide a visual trouble condition if they drift out of the sensitivity range or fail internal diagnostics. The series meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements without the need for external meters. The alarm sensitivity level can be determined at the unit. Another feature is built-in drift compensation that allows the alarm to adjust sensitivity automatically as it becomes dirty over time. The drift compensation feature dramatically increases the time between cleaning, as well as reduces false alarms.
