The AlcoMate Premium (Model AL-7000) is our new flagship breathalyzer that provides you with the most advanced, accurate and convenient breath testing system available. The Premium never requires calibration through the use of patent-pending PRISMTM (Pre-calibrated Replaceable Intelligent Sensor Module) Technology. With the unique easy-replace sensor panel, module replacement takes just a few seconds! The AlcoMate Premium’s PRISMTM Sensor Technology uses advanced next-generation components to improve upon prior oxide semiconductor technologies and introduces a level of accuracy, reliability and ease-of-use never before achieved among portable screening breathalyzers. Accessories for the BASIC PACK include a pre-installed sensor module, batteries (x2), mouthpieces (x5) and compact carrying bag. The FULL PACK additionally includes a field test kit (large zippered bag) and power car adapter. Note: The only legally valid measure of %BAC (percent Blood Alcohol Concentration) is obtained by blood testing or other evidential method of measurement. This device is for screening purposes only and should be used as a monitoring guide. This device must be used strictly in accordance with the instructions provided with the product. 1 Device Operation If you are using the AlcoMate Premium for the first time, please install two 1.5V AA batteries (included) and attach a mouthpiece to the unit. Ready for testing! Warnings a. WAIT AT LEAST 20 MINUTES AFTER EATING OR DRINKING BEFORE TESTING. A breathalyzer examines “lung air” samples, not “mouth air” to calculate alcohol content. Any “contaminants” in the mouth, including alcohol, food, smoke, or even excess saliva, may interfere with testing. This includes alcohol-based mouthwash or similar products. This is the most common cause of improper use and incorrect results. b. Avoid testing in high wind or enclosed spaces. Poor ventilation may also lengthen the time required for warm up between tests. c. Do not blow smoke, saliva or other contaminants into the mouthpiece, as the sensor may become damaged. d. Do NOT use the Premium as a tool to drink and drive. e. Keep out of extreme temperatures and out of the reach of children. f. To maintain accuracy, the sensor module inside the Premium must be replaced every 200 tests or at least once yearly (whichever comes first). Large numbers of "high positive" (high alcohol) readings may require replacing the module much sooner than normally expected. g. WARNING DISPLAY “Flow”: If you see “Flow” in the display, the breath sample was not strong or long enough for measurement. As soon as you start blowing into the device, you will hear a long beep indicating how long you should blow. h. WARNING DISPLAY “Cal”: If you see “Cal” in the display, the Premium needs a new sensor module. If the cumulative test counter reaches 300 tests, the Premium will display Cal automatically. Please purchase and install a new sensor module. i. WARNING DISPLAY “Bat”: If you see “Bat” in the display, the battery power is low. Please replace the batteries. 3 Specifications Method of Measure BrAC (Breath Alcohol Content) to %BAC (percent Blood Alcohol Concentration) Range 0.000% to 0.400%BAC Accuracy +/-0.01% up to 0.10% BAC Sensor Advanced Oxide Semiconductor (2nd Generation) Power Two 1.5V AA alkaline batteries (included) Testing Capacity Approx. 100~200 with new batteries Operating Temperature 10 – 40 degrees Celsius Warm Up Less than 1 minute Display 4-digit back-lit LCD display (0.000%) Size (mm) 4.2” x 2.0” x 0.75” Weight 1.8 oz. Warranty The manufacturer warrants the product to be free from defects in workmanship or material (excluding calibration) under normal use for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. The manufacturer’s obligation under this warranty is limited to replacing, adjusting or repairing the unit if returned along with proof of purchase. damaged. This warranty is void if the unit has been tampered with or maliciously Sensor Module replacement is a cyclical maintenance procedure that is required by the AlcoMate Premium to maintain accuracy, and as such, is NOT covered under warranty. Sensor Module replacement eliminates the need for re-calibration (a non-warranty service which is also a cyclical maintenance procedure) required by all traditional breathalyzers.
