I.

Overview

This document contains instruc>ons for removing eDellRoot cer>ficate from Dell systems.

Manual Steps
1.

Open Task Manager by right clicking on the taskbar and select Task
Manager.

2.

Select the "Services" tab in the Task Manager window.

3. Click on "Open Services" at the boQom of the "Services" tab.

4.

Look for "Dell Founda>on Services" and select it.

Click "Stop the service".

6.

The "Services" window should look like the image below aVer the service
has stopped.

Open "File Explorer" and navigate to "c:\Program Files\Dell\Dell
Founda>on Services" and delete the
"Dell.Founda>on.Agent.Plugins.eDell.dll" file.

8.

You may be prompted with the warning below. Click "Con>nue" to delete
the file

9.

Hit the Windows key (
) on the keyboard and type "certmgr.msc"
followed by the "Enter" key.

10.You may be prompted to allow the program to make changes to the
computer. Click "Yes".

11.When the cer>ficate manager window opens, double click on "Trusted Root
Cer>fica>on Authori>es" on the leV panel. Then double click the
"Cer>ficates" folder.

12.Select the eDellRoot cer>ficate from the right panel.

13.Delete the cer>ficate by clicking the "X” icon in the toolbar.
WARNING! Make sure ONLY the "eDellRoot" cer1ficate is selected like the example below
before clicking the delete bu=on. Dele1ng any other cer1ficate may cause your system to
func1on improperly.

14.You will be asked to confirm dele>on of the "eDellRoot" cer>ficate. Click
"Yes"

15.AVer dele>on, the "eDellRoot" cer>ficate should be removed from the
cer>ficate manager's window as shown in the image below.

16.Go back to the "Services" window and select "Dell Founda>on Services" and
click "Start the service".

17.Close all windows that were opened.
18.eDellroot Cer>ficate is now removed from the computer.
