Ethical Issues Surrounding Artificial Intelligence Systems and Big Data
Final presentations
During the final class period, each student will prepare a ​2-minute
presentation ​about an application of ​AI for social good​.
Instructions:
1. Choose ​one​​ application of AI for social good. You can use examples
in industry or research.

2. In your presentation, answer the following questions:
a. What is the application and how does it work?
b. How has it already helped society?
c. What are potential issues with the application? Can you
connect these issues to topics we've brought up in class (such as
fairness, bias, transparency, regulation etc.)?
d. How would you extend this application in the future?
3. You will be allowed only ​2 minutes ​for the presentation so we
encourage you to rehearse beforehand.
4. Prepare a presentation with ​exactly 2 slides ​(no more, no less). We
encourage you to use very minimal text on your slide and show
pictures and diagrams instead. Upload the slides in .pdf form to
Moodle by ​midnight​​ the night before the final class.
