Ethical Issues Surrounding Artificial Intelligence Systems and Big Data Final presentations During the final class period, each student will prepare a 2-minute presentation about an application of AI for social good. Instructions: 1. Choose one application of AI for social good. You can use examples in industry or research. a. A good place to start would be: i. NIPS 2018 Workshop on AI for Social Good: https://aiforsocialgood.github.io/2018/index.htm ii. Bloomberg Data for Good Exchange: https://www.bloomberg.com/company/d4gx-2018-pap ers/ iii. Google AI for social good projects: https://ai.google/social-good 2. In your presentation, answer the following questions: a. What is the application and how does it work? b. How has it already helped society? c. What are potential issues with the application? Can you connect these issues to topics we've brought up in class (such as fairness, bias, transparency, regulation etc.)? d. How would you extend this application in the future? 3. You will be allowed only 2 minutes for the presentation so we encourage you to rehearse beforehand. 4. Prepare a presentation with exactly 2 slides (no more, no less). We encourage you to use very minimal text on your slide and show pictures and diagrams instead. Upload the slides in .pdf form to Moodle by midnight the night before the final class.
