2 Overview of the Smart Pet Collar Unit

3Quick Start
Youcan get access to the basic functions of the Smart Pet Collar by following the four steps below:
install the device, download the mobile app, sign up for an account, and bind to your pet.
3.1 Install the Device
Step 1: Get the Smart Pet Collar Unit, press and hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds. The
lighting up of the indicator and a chime means it is turned on successfully.

Step 2: If the Smart Pet Collar Unit can’t be turned on due to a lack of power, please charge it
with the charging cable as shown in Picture 3. You can turn on the Smart Pet Collar Unit after
charging for 10 minutes.

3.2 Download the APP
You can download the mobile APP by the following three means:
[1] Scan the QR code below according to the operating system of your mobile phone, install the
APP as instructed.

[2] Download and install the APP from various APP stores.
[3] Visit our website www.dognesstech.com, scan the code and install the APP as instructed.
3.3 Sign up for an Account
For first time use, open the APP, click “Me” in the navigation bar right below the homepage, you
will be navigated to the sign up page (as shown in Picture 5), click “Register”.
Quick reminder: You can’t leave blank the “Pet Country”, instead, choose the country or region
where you are going to use the Smart Pet Collar. Your account could be a valid email or phone
number, and the password must be 8 – 16 characters(as shown in Picture 6) . Click
“Complete”or“verification code”, you will receive a verification code on your email or phone, input
the verification code, click “Complete”, and you have signed up successfully.

3.4 Bind to Your Pet
After signing up, you are automatically navigated to the log in page. Just click “Login” since your
account and password were automatically input when you signed up. Click the scanning area in
the upper right position of the homepage, take out your Smart Pet Collar Unit and scan the QR
code on it or you can enter the corresponding IMEI of it (as shown in Picture 9). The two devices
will be matched. Then you should input the information of your pet among which the nickname,
gender, type, weight, and birth date are required. Click “Save” and the Smart Pet Collar is
successfully bound to your pet. At this time you may see the profile and location of your pet, and
you can have intelligent control over your pet.

4 Settings Guide
In order to make the Smart Pet Collar handier, you have to set up properly your cellphone
parameter, the Dogness APP and the Smart Pet Collar Unit.
4.1 Cellphone Setting
When using the Dogness APP, you have to give it access to the GPS and Album on your cellphone.
Please refer to the Settings on your cellphone for detailed information.
4.2 Complete Personal Information
Click “Me” button in the APP, you may find a simplified grey profile, click it and you are brought
to the page where you can edit your personal information. You can upload your personal profile,
edit your nickname, gender, address, etc. and save the change. Please complete your personal
information as far as you can so as to make it more discernible.
4.3 Modify Pet’s Information
Click “Pets” in the APP, select the profile of the pet whose information needs to be modified.
Click the big image on the very top of the Pet’s Information Page, and you are brought to the
editing page where you can edit the pet’s nickname, gender, birth date, ect. and save the change.
4.4 E‐fence Settings
For first time use, click the “Fence” button on the homepage. The APP will remind you of setting
up for the E‐fence. You may click “Yes” and go to the E‐fence Settings page; or you may click “Pets”
on the APP and select a pet that needs the setting, and then click “E‐fence Setting” to get into the
setting page. If you want to set up a circular E‐fence, click “+” and enter the name of the E‐fence,
adjust the radius of the E‐fence and save it. If you want to set up a polygonal E‐fence, click “+”,
enter the name of the E‐fence, click several places on the map, combine them into a closed
polygon and save it. If you want to modify or delete a E‐fence, click the icon on the upper right of
“E‐fence Settings”, and select relevant E‐fence. When using the E‐fence, you also need to set a
default E‐fence on the APP, all you need to do is to click relevant E‐fence and wait until it turns
blue.
4.6 Alarm Settings
Alarm Settings are mainly designed for the alarming of low battery level and pet’s crossing the
E‐fence. Click “Pets”, select the profile of relevant pet, and click “Alart Settings”, you can choose
Vibration or Ring as the alarm. You can also choose the tone you like on clicking “Alarm Ring”.
4.6Map Display
The APP shows the Location of My Pet location and the icon in the homepage as the default Map
Display. If you don’t want it there, click “Pets” and select relevant pet and shut down the “Map
on Display”.
4.7Navigation Settings
Navigation Settings are designed for users to choose the map for the APP. Your cellphone must be
equipped with Baidu Map, Gaode Map and so on before you set the map for the APP. IPhone
users can choose the build‐in map therein. Click “Me – Navigation Set” and you can tick your
preferential way of navigation.
5 Functions at a Glance
The Smart Pet Collar has multiple functions such as Real‐time Positioning, Track, Bright Flash
Light, Amusing Voice, and Pet‐pal Chat. All these functions are at your fingertips on the
homepage. See the following picture for the functions on the homepage:

5.1 Charging for the Smart Pet Collar Unit
On the upper right corner of the Homepage shows theBattery icon and Battery Percentage of the
Smart Pet Collar Unit. When its battery is lower than 20%, the APP on your cellphone will activate
the auto alarm, and it does the same when there is 15%, 10% and 5% of the battery left. You can
check the alarm record in “Me – Alarm Record”. When low battery alarm is activated, please
charge the Smart Pet Collar Unit in time so as not to interrupt normal use.
5.2 Switch off the Smart Pet Collar Unit
Option 1: Press and hold the On/Off Button of the Smart Pet Collar Unit for 8 seconds until the
indicator light is off;
Option 2: If the Smart Pet Collar is not at hand, you can switch it off by the remote control from
your APP. Click “Pets”, select a relevant pet and find “Device Settings”, and click “Turn it off from
remote connection”.
5.3 Pet Positioning
Select the pet that needs positioning through the “Pets Menu” on the APP Homepage, click
“Refresh” on the bottom right of the Homepage, you can see the time and place where the pet
last shows up on the map.
5.4 Real‐time Track
Select the pet that needs positioning through the “Pets Menu” on the APP Homepage, click
“Track” you can start recording the pet’s track; click “Track” again you can view the track. You can
minimize the view page (but the APP is still recording the current track), or you may end the
recording and save or delete the current track.
5.5 Previous Tracks
If you want to view some previous tracks, click “Pets” to select a relevant pet, then click “Tracks
Record”, then you can view the tracks by different period of time, or you may click “Play”, “Fast
Forward”, “Fast Backward” or just drag the time bar to see the changes in the track.
5.6 Locate Your Pet by the Navigator
Click the “Navigator” on the bottom left of the Home Page, you can start locating your pet. The
App will make use of the map installed in your cellphone and plan a route for you to locate the
pet. To use the “Navigator”, you have to install Baidu Map or Gaode Map on your cellphone. For
iPhone users, just use the build‐in map therein.
5.7 Light Control
Click the Light Control button, you can have the light in three mode: On, Flicker, and Off. Besides,
you can see whether the Smart Pet Collar and the APP are connected judging from whether you
can control the light via your cellphone.
5.8 E‐fence On and Off
Click “E‐fence” on the Home Page, the E‐fence is on and the range of the E‐fence will be shown
on current map. When your pet cross over the E‐fence, your cellphone will make an alarming
sound. You can check the alarm from “Me – Alart Record”.
Control Voice to calm down the pet if its barking or the ambient noise reaches a certain decibel
level.
5.9 Follow a Pet
Follow a Pet is designed for pet pals to socialize. Between pet pals, you can follow each other’s
pet directly. If you haven’t become the pet pal of someone yet, you have to add him/her as your
pet pal and then follow the pet.
5.10Pets Nearby
When activating “My Pets” on Pets Nearby, your pet could be viewed by nearby users, and you
can view the pets of other users who have also activated this function. If you are interested in a
pet nearby, you can click the profile of it and view detailed information about it. You might as
well add its owner your pet pal.
5.11Step Count Ranking
Step Count Ranking shows the daily step counts of your pet in last week. At the same time, you
can check the step count of your pet’s pal’s pet. All the step counts from all registered pet’s make
up the step count rankings.
5.12Transfer of Ownership
If you need to transfer your pet to a pet’s pal, click “Pets” and select the pet that needs
transferring, then click “pet Transfer”, you will see a list of your pet’s pals, click the pet’s pal who
will be the next owner, and the ownership transference is done. Transfer of Ownership can’t be
done between non‐pet’s pals, you have to friend each other first.
5.13Add a Pet’s Pal
You can add a pet’s pal by means of scan the QR Code of a pet or that of the owner, and search
“Nearby Pets”, besides, you can also add one through “Friends”. Click the icon on the upper right
of a conversation page, you are brought to the contacts page, click the “+” on the upper right of
that page, input the account of a pet’s pal or a group, you can send out your request to friend the
other. At the consent of the other party, you can be pet’s pals. If someone send a request to
friend you, there will be a reminder in New Pals. You can choose to agree to or reject the request.
5.14Pet’s Pal Chat
You can chat with your pet’s pals on the “Friends” page. With referrence to the functions in
Wechat, you can view the list of your pet’s pals and groups and chat with them.
5.15Payment
We have put a SIM card for your region in the Samrt Pet Collar, so you don’t have to buy one
yourself, yet you need to pay the charges. You may check the due date of charges of a certain
Smart Pet Collar in “Pets”, select a certain pet and you will see the due date. Meanwhile, when
the charges of a Smart Pet Collar is about to approach the due date, there will be a reminder on
your APP. When making the payment, you can click “Me – Fee Payment”, choose a payment
package, the name of a pet, and the way of payment, and you can complete the payment. After
completing the payment, you can click “Payment History” to view the payment records of the
current account.
5.16 Forget Password
There is a “Forgot Password” tab on log in page, click on it if you forget your password. You can
retrieve your password or reset a password as instructed.
5.17Reset the Password
Click “Me –Change Password” on the Home Page of the APP, you can reset your password by
inputting current password and a new one.
5.18FAQs
If you have any questions or problems regarding the use of the Smart Pet Collar that can’t be
solved by referring to the User Manual, you can click “Me – FAQ” to view our descriptions of
FAQs, and find a quick solution to your problem.
5.19Online Customer Service
Clicking “Me – Online Customer Service”, you can describe your problem or send a screenshot to
our online service staff, we will get back to you timely within 24 hours.
6 Product Statement

·The GPS location of this product may fail receive the satellite signal and lose position in bad
weather condition.

7 Safety Instructions

Cleaning and maintenance
·Non professional personnel, can not open collar and other accessories, when fault occurs,
please contact the customer service center.
·Do not use chemical solvents or cleaning agents to clean this product.
·Please avoid falling off, knock or shock collar, rude collar can damage the internal circuit
boards and fine structure.
·In case of abnormal use, please press the on / off button until the restart, which can solve
the general fault.
·In order to prolong the service life of the battery, please keep the battery power in full
charge of the battery, long time electricity use, the battery will gradually discharge, when not
in use, please charge the battery after placed in a cool, dry and dark place.
Charger safety and Battery safety
·This product is not equipped with a power adapter when charging, you can use the USB
interface of the computer or the power adapter, and the output voltage and current of the
power adapter shall comply with the following specifications: DC output voltage: 4.8V‐5.2V
output current: DC, not less than 200mA.
·unplug the charger from electrical outlets and the device when not in use. Do not drop or
cause an impact to the charger.

·The product with the built‐in battery in the collar, it is strictly prohibited to remove,

·When charging, the battery temperature will rise, please do not put the battery and
flammable objects together (such as bed, clothing, books, etc.) to avoid fire.

·When put on the collar and harness, please adjust the length according to your dog’s neck
which can make him more comfortable and healthier.
·Please take off the collar when making a bath for dog, otherwise it might damage the collar
