Please see the Testing Reception section for complete instructions.• The Transmitter is intended for indoor use only.• NEVER use the Transmitter or Receiver near water. For example, do notuse near a bathtub, bathroom sink, laundry tub, kitchen sink, in a wetbasement, etc.• Always unplug the AC adapters from wall outlets during long periods of non-use.• Position the Transmitter, Receiver and AC adapters to allow adequateventilation and prevent these components from overheating.• To prevent overheating, keep the Transmitter, Receiver and AC adaptersaway from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or otherappliances (including amplifiers) which produce heat. Also keep thesecomponents out of direct sunlight.• Use only the AC adapters provided. Use of any other adapters may damage the Transmitter and/or Receiver. 5Installing Your Home Connection Monitor System• To prevent entanglement, only mount the Baby’s Unit in a location where itand its AC adapter cord are OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.• DO NOT mount the Baby’s Unit directly above heating vents, other heatproducing sources or in direct sunlight.• To prevent entanglement and overheating, NEVER use an extension cord.WARNINGTo Charge the Parent’s Units:IMPORTANT: You will need to fullycharge each Parent’s Unit BEFOREFIRST USE and when low batteryindicator is illuminated.1.Unscrew the two screws at the bottomof each Parent’s Unit. Insert theRecharging Battery with 2 pinconnector wire facing down. Connectthe two pin connector inside eachParent’s Unit. Replace the bottom andsecure screws (Figure 1).2.Connect an AC adapter into eachParent’s Unit and into a power outlet(Figure 1). It takes approximately 8hours to fully charge. 1RechargingBatteryScrewsNOTE:The Parent’s Units may use either the AC adapter or the rechargeable batteriesprovided. • When using batteries, check batteriesregularly. Amber LED indicates thebatteries are low. DO NOT rely onParent’s Unit when batteries are low.CAUTION3.For AC Power Use: Locate each Parent’s Unit and its AC adapter. Connect theAC adapter into the side of the Parent’s Unit. 6Installing Your Home Connection Monitor System2To Set Up the Baby’s Units:4.Locate each Baby’s Unit and its ACadapter. Connect the AC adapterinto the bottom of each Baby’sUnit (Figure 2). If desired, wrap theexcess cord onto cord shortener.Connect the AC adapter into apower outlet. Place the Baby’s Uniton a flat surface 4 to 6’ (1.5 to 2 m)away from the baby. CAUTION: DO NOT use an adapterthat did not come with this product.ACAdapter5.Turn each charged Parent’s Unit and Baby’s Units to the On position. Be sure thatchannel I is selected on all Baby’s Units.NOTE: The channel selectors on the Parent’s Units are preset to channel I. Asecond channel is available if you experience interference. Please refer to theTroubleshooting section.Choose Locations:• For best sound quality and safety, place each Baby’s Unit 4 to 6’ (1.5 to 2 m) awayfrom the baby.• Be certain the Parent’s Unit and Baby’s Unit are set on the same channel (all Unitsare preset on channel I when packaged).• Check reception regularly.• Adjust the volume to a comfortable level for your environment.• Use each Parent’s Unit far enough away from the Baby’s Units so as not to getfeedback.• During use of the monitor, if the sound quality deteriorates you may be reaching thelimits of the monitor’s range. For example, Baby’s Unit Ais monitored for three seconds andthe corresponding colored LEDilluminates. Next, Baby’s Unit B ismonitored and so on. Press the Scanbutton to turn Scan On. To turnScan Off and listen only to oneBaby’s Unit, press the room selectorbutton that corresponds to theBaby’s Unit (Figure 5).Two-way Talk Feature:9.The two-way talk feature on eachParent’s Unit allows the parent tocommunicate with someone on thesecond Parent’s Unit. Press and hold6.Adjustthe volume by turning theknob on the side of each Parent’sUnit. Check the battery LED onthe Parent’s Units to be sure theunit is charged (green). If the LowBattery LED is illuminated amber,you need to recharge the Parent’sUnit (Figure 4).7.To listen to a Baby’s Unit press theroom selector button thatcorresponds to the Baby’s Unit thatyou want to monitor. Each Baby’sUnit is color coded to match thecorresponding button on theParent’s Units.Low BatteryLED(Amber)5Baby’sUnit AScanButtonBaby’sUnit B Baby’sUnit CTalkButtonthe talk button. Release button to listen (Figure 5).Secure Sound Lights:10.The 5 sound lights on the Parent’s Units indicate the sound level of the roomthat you are monitoring. The more noise in the selected room, the moresound lights will illuminate.CAUTION: Test the Parent’s Unit before each use. It is essential to check receptionregularly. Have an adult speak intoeach Baby’s Unit at various levels (soft to loud) while another adult checkseach Parent’s Unit for the proper sound and reception. Try the Parent’s Unitin every location that it will be used. Try talking from one Parent’s Unit to theother. It is best to follow these guidelines for good reception:Guidelines for good reception:• The Baby’s Unit should be placed 4 to 6’ (1.5 to 2 m) away from the baby.• Be certain each Parent’s Units and corresponding Baby’s Unit are set on the samechannel (see Troubleshooting).• Check reception regularly by following Step 10 above.• Adjust the volume to a comfortable level for your environment.• Use each Parent’s Unit far enough away from the Baby’s Units so as not to getfeedback.• During use of the monitor, if the sound quality deteriorates you may be reaching thelimits of the monitor’s range. If this happens, you will need to move the Parent’s Unitin closer proximity to the Baby’s Unit.NOTE: It is possible for the Parent’s Units to pick up sounds or interference fromother signal producing devices including other audio or video monitors whichbroadcast in the 900 MHzrange. To minimize this potential problem, twoindependent channels have been provided. If interference becomes a problem on the preset channel, please refer to theTroubleshooting section at the end of these instructions.CAUTION: To protect your privacy, always turn the Baby’s Units off when not inuse. Always remember that you are using public airwaves. Sound may be broadcastto other receiving devices. Purchaser will be responsible for all costs associated with packaging andshipping the product to Dorel Juvenile Group Consumer Relations Department atthe address noted on the front page of this document and all other freight orinsurance costs associated with the return. Dorel Juvenile Group will bear the costof shipping the repaired or replaced product to the purchaser. Product should bereturned in its original package accompanied by a proof of purchase, either a salesreceipt or other proof that the product is within the warranty period.
