DO NOT place the Receiver anywhere itsAC adapter cord are within reach of children.• ALWAYS KEEP THE TRANSMITTER, RECEIVER AND AC ADAPTERSOUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.• This product is not intended to be used as a medical monitor and its use should not replace adult supervision. It is important that an adult stay within the viewing range of the Quick Connection Two Way Monitor atall times during use.• It is essential to check reception regularly. Please see the TestingReception section for complete instructions.• The Receiver is intended for indoor use only.• NEVER use the Transmitter or Receiver near water. For example, do notuse near a bathtub, bathroom sink, laundry tub, kitchen sink, in a wetbasement, etc.• Always unplug the AC adapters from wall outlets during long periods of non-use.• Position the Transmitter, Receiver and AC adapters to allow adequateventilation and prevent these components from overheating.• To prevent overheating, keep the Transmitter, Receiver and AC adaptersaway from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or otherappliances (including amplifiers) which produce heat. Also keep thesecomponents out of direct sunlight.• Use only the AC adapters provided. Use of any other adapters may damage the Transmitter and/or Receiver. Plug the AC adapters intostandard household current only (120V AC outlet)! Whenplugged in, the AC adapter will be thesource of power.1.For AC Power Use: Locate theParent Unit and its AC adapter.Connect the AC adapter into the sideof the Parent Unit. Connect the ACadapter into a power outlet (Figure1).CAUTION: DO NOT use an adapterthat did not come with this product.For Battery Use: Locate the centerscrew at the back of the ParentUnit. Unscrew the screw. Pull offthe battery door and insert threeAAA batteries (see positive andnegative diagram on the ParentUnit). Secure the door with thescrew (Figure 1a). NOTE: If desired, slide the belt clipover your belt.Parent UnitAC AdapterBattery Door Screw• When using batteries, check batteries regularly. Amber LED indicates thebatteries are low. Be sure that the samechannel is selected on both the ChildUnit and the Parent Unit. To Use Your Child Unit and Parent Unit:Channels Must MatchOn/OffVolumeControl2.Adjustthe volume by turning theknob on the side of the ParentUnit. To talk, press and hold thetalk button. Release button tolisten.If desired, turn the vibrate featureon. Vibrate overrides sound,therefore no sound will be heardwhen vibrate is on.CAUTION: Test the Parent Unitbefore each use. It is essential tocheck reception regularly. 8Operating Your Quick Connection Two Way MonitorGuidelines for Good Reception:• Place your Child Unit 4 to 6' (1.5 to 2m) away from the child.• Be certain the Parent Unit and Child Unit are set on the same channel.• Have one adult speak (from a whisper to a yell) into the microphone on the front ofthe Child Unit while another checks the volume and the sound LEDs on the ParentUnit. The more noise your baby makes, the more sound lights will illuminate (Figure 1).• Adjust the volume to a comfortable level for your environment.• Use the Parent Unit far enough away from the Child Unit so as not to getfeedback.• Do not placethe Parent Unit more than 1000' (304.8 m) away from the Child Unit.• If one channel has poor reception try the other channel.NOTE: It is possible for the Parent Unit to pick up sounds or interference fromother signal producing devices including other audio or video monitors whichbroadcast in the 900 MHzrange. To minimize this potential problem, twoindependent channels have been provided. If you experience interference while using one channel setting, simply switch theParent Unit and Child Unitto another channel. Selecting a channel is usually a one-time adjustment. If interference persists on both channels, please refer to theTroubleshooting section at the end of these instructions.CAUTION: To protect your privacy, always turn the Child Unit off when not in use.Always remember that you are using public airwaves. Sound may be broadcast toother receiving devices. Conversations, even from rooms near by, may be broadcast.34To Test the Reception: 1NOTE: It is essential to checkreception regularly. 1.Place the Child Unit 4 to 6' (1.5 to 2m) away. 10Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that this product(Quick Connection Two Way Monitor), is free from material and workmanshipdefects when used under normal conditions for a period of one (1) year from thedate of purchase. Should the product contain defects in material or workmanshipDorel Juvenile Group, Inc., will repair or replace the product, at our option, free ofcharge. Purchaser will be responsible for all costs associated with packaging andshipping the product to Dorel Juvenile Group Consumer Relations Department atthe address noted below and all other freight or insurance costs associated with thereturn. Dorel Juvenile Group will bear the cost of shipping the repaired or replacedproduct to the purchaser. Product should be returned in its original packageaccompanied by a proof of purchase, either a sales receipt or other proof that theproduct is within the warranty period.
