STEP 2 Locate the channel selector on the back of the Baby’s unit. Select one of the four channel options, and note your selection on a separate piece of paper. STEP 3 Turn power switch to “ON” position. The LED Light on the Baby’s unit should be illuminated. To Activate Parent’s Unit: For best results, the Parent’s Unit should be placed at least 10 feet away from the Baby’s unit. The Parent’s Unit can be mounted to the wall by using a screw (not included) to hang the unit using the keyhole on the belt clip on the back of the unit. STEP 1 Remove battery cover and select channel to correspond to the same channel used on Baby’s Unit as shown. (LD of parent’s unit w/battery cover removed indicating channel selector) STEP 2 Place the Parent’s Unit at least 10 feet from the Baby’s Unit. STEP 3 To use household power, plug the round end of adapter cord into the jack on the Parent’s unit, then plug the the adapter into an electrical outlet. Turn the power switch to “ON” and set at an appropriate volume level to hear baby at all times. The power-on LED Light on the Unit should be illuminated and solid red. NOTE: The pre-installed rechargeable battery pack in the Parent’s Unit will automatically charge when the A/C adapter is in use. STEP 4 For optional battery power, do not attach AC Adapter. Simply turn the power switch to “ON” and the Parent’s Unit will run on battery power. Note: If you experience a power failure, the Parent’s Unit and the Baby’s Unit will not automatically switch to battery power. You must disconnect the AC Adapters from the Parent’s and the Baby’s Unit. You must have have installed (1) 9Volt battery in the Baby’s Unit, and the rechargeable battery pack in the Parent’s Unit must have been charged prior to use. LED SOUND LEVEL LIGHT INDICATORS/LOSS OF SIGNAL INDICATORS The four (4) RED LEDs at the top of the Parent’s Unit light up to display sound levels. These sound level indicators are facto-factory pre-set and are not affected by the volume setting. This feature allows you to view the relative volume level of your baby’s sounds. It is most effective when you are in a noisy environment and may not be able to hear your baby’s sounds clearly. The louder the sound, the more RED LEDs will light up. These RED LEDs, along with the Speaker, also serve as a loss of signal alarm. When the Parent’s unit is too far from the Baby’s Unit for monitoring, the LEDs will flash and the Speaker will give off an audible alarm. Operating Tips • Make sure that both units are on the same channel. Even though you may hear your baby’s sounds, proper use of this system requires that both units must be on the same channel. If the units are on different channels, the signals from the Baby’s Unit may be strong enough to be picked up by the Parent’s Unit, but these signals are unreliable and may contain substantial static. •When using the AC Adapters with household electricity, make sure the out-let has power. Some electrical outlets are powered through a wall switch in the room. If both Units are plugged in and ”ON”, the Power indicator LEDs should be lit. If this does not take place, try placing the wall switch in the room in another position.
