Description and Intended Use
The Dräger PSSŽ 7000 PC Link Module is configured to a Windows
based PC software package. To secure the PC Link Module, during use,
a mounting bracket is provided for either bench or wall mounting. The
PC Link Module provides location for a User Interface and also includes
a side slot for inserting, and locating, a personal identity (ID) card. When
connected to a suitable PC, the PC Link Module provides access to the
following functionality:
 Reconfiguration of the programmed parameters of a User Interface.
 Downloading of the data logged parameters from a User Interface to
a selected directory on the PC.
 Programming the personal details of a user to either a User Interface
or to a personal ID card.
Installing PSSÂŽ 7000 PC Link Software
 Ensure that the hard disk has sufficient free space (100 Mb).
 Close down all applications.
 Load the installation CD-ROM to CD drive of the PC. The installation
of the software will automatically begin.
 Follow the on-screen instructions as each window opens. A final
window will inform you that the installation of the PC Link Software is
complete. Press ‘OK’.
Connecting the PC Link Module to the PC
Insert the type-B connector, of the link cable assembly, into the socket at the
base of the PC Link Module. Insert the type-A connector to a suitable USB
port on your PC, and follow the automatic installation procedure on the PC.

If the PC fails to automatically locate the required driver
files, they are located on the ‘\pclink_usbdrivers’ directory
of the supplied CD-ROM.
If problems occur during installation, due to an incorrect
entry in a dialog box, refer to the web link: http://www.

Logging On to the PSSÂŽ 7000 Link Software

It is important that a member of your staff be appointed
official controller (administrator) of this software product.
 Connect the PC Link Module to the PC before running the link
software.
 Press ‘Start/Programs/Dräger/PSS® 7000 PC Link Software’ to open
the software.
 Select the language required (once the required language is selected,
the dialog box can be disabled when next starting the program).
 Select a User name and Password, and select OK. It is recommended
that the first access is at administrator level and that the administrator
password is immediately changed. The default passwords (not case
sensitive) are shown below:
Administor  —  admin
User          —  user
Service level access provides additional permissions and functions
that are not available to administrators or standard users. Contact
Dräger for details.
 On initial installation only, the program will open into a PC Link
options window. Select the relevant default configuration file as
follows:
• Open the Product name dropdown list and select Bodyguard or
Sentinel. Do not change any other settings at this stage.
• Select Save.
• Select OK.

For further explanations and help on parameter settings,
etc., refer to the Help > User guide, in the PSSÂŽ 7000
PC Link Software.
 Locate the User Interface to the PC Link Module as shown in Fig. 1.
 Press the LH button of the User Interface. The unit will emit a single
audible tone and then the self-check sequence will start. At any
time during the self check, press the ‘Connect’ button on the PC
monitor screen. On satisfactory connection of the User Interface to
the software, the icon       will display on the User Interface screen,
and the circle in the top-right corner of the PC monitor screen will
change to green.
 During the downloading of changed parameters to the User Interface,
the green LED on the front of the PC Link Module will flicker. On
completion of the download, the LED will switch off.

It is only possible to write to a blank personal ID card when
the User Interface is removed from the PC Link Module.
 
When a programmed personal ID card is placed and
held against the User Interface, directly behind the
display screen, it is possible to transmit/download
  the required personal details from the embedded
transponder of the card to the chip of the User Interface. Refer to the
Instructions for Use supplied with the either the Dräger Sentinel or
Bodyguard 7000 for instructions on how to perform this operation.

Cleaning, Disinfecting and Drying
Do not immerse the PC Link Module in cleaning fluids.

 
The PC link software package is supplied with the following parts:
 1 off PC Link Module (Fig. 1)
 1 off link cable assembly – USB
 1 off installation CD-ROM
 10 off personal ID cards (blank)
 1 off mounting bracket
 4 off mounting bracket screws.

The PSSÂŽ 7000 PC Link Module does not require any routine attention
by the user other than visual inspection for any damage.

Installation Instructions
Remove dirt and contaminants by carefully cleaning using clean lint-free
cloth moistened in a mild soap solution. Apply an antistatic cleaning agent
to a clean lint-free cloth and clean the surface of the units. Following
general cleaning, ensure that the USB cable and connectors are clean,
dry and not damaged.
This device has been tested and complies with the 		
FCC rules. Changes or modifications not expressly 		
approved by the manufacturer will void your authority to
operate this product.
To prevent damage, do not use organic solvents such as
acetone, alcohol, white spirit, trichloroethylene or similar.

 
System Requirements
Workstation (PC) Setup:
Minimum – Pentium processor 166 MHz (>300 MHz preferred), 32 Mb
RAM, 100 Mb available hard disk space. >1 MB graphics card (>4 MB
preferred) with screen resolution at least 800 x 600 pixels.
Operating systems supported:
Windows 2000 , Windows XP and Windows Vista

Beschreibung und Verwendungszweck
Das Dräger PSSŽ 7000 PC-Verbindungsmodul ist fßr ein auf Windows
aufsetzendes Softwarepaket konfiguriert. Zur Sicherung des PCVerbindungsmoduls während des Gebrauchs dient ein Halter, der entweder
an Werkbank oder Wand montiert wird. Das PC-Verbindungsmodul
bietet Platz fßr das Bedien- und Anzeigegerät und weist einen seitlichen
Schlitz fßr die personenbezogene Identifikationskarte (Dräger Smart
card) Beim Anschluss an einen entsprechenden PC ermĂśglicht das PCVerbindungsmodul Zugriff auf folgende Funktionen:
 Neukonfiguration der programmierten Parameter eines Bedien- und
Anzeigegeräts.
 Herunterladen der aufgezeichneten Parameter von einem Bedienund Anzeigegerät in ein Verzeichnis auf dem PC.
 Programmieren von persÜnlichen Daten eines Benutzers ßber eine
Schnittstelle oder auf eine personenbezogene Identifikationskarte
 Alle Anwendungen schließen.
 Die Installations-CD-ROM in das CD-Laufwerk des PC einlegen. Die
Installation der Software startet automatisch.
 Die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm befolgen. Zum Abschluss
erscheint ein Fenster, das die erfolgreiche Installation der PCVerbindungs-Software bestätigt. "OK" drßcken.
Das PC-Verbindungsmodul mit dem

Den Typ B Stecker des USB-Verbindungskabels in die USB-Buchse am PCVerbindungsmodul einstecken. Den Typ A Stecker des USB-Verbindungskabels in eine USB-Buchse am PC einstecken. Den automatischen Installationsvorgang am PC durchfĂźhren.

Falls der PC die erforderlichen Treiberdaten nicht findet,
den Pfad "\pclink_usbdrivers" auf der mitgelieferten CDROM angeben.
Falls während der Installation Probleme durch einen falschen
Eintrag in einer Dialogbox auftreten, hilft folgender Link:

Es ist wichtig, dass ein Teammitglied zum Administrator
der Software bestimmt wird.
 Die Schnittstelle mit dem PC verbinde, bevor die Software gestartet wird.
 Im Startmenß ßber "Start/Programme/Dräger/PSSŽ 7000 PC Link
Software" das Programm starten.
 Gewßnschte Sprache auswählen,  (Ist die Sprache einmal ausgewählt,
wird das Dialogfenster bei einem erneuten Start nicht mehr erscheinen)
 Benutzernamen und Passwort auswählen und mit OK bestätigen. Es
wird empfohlen, dass der erste Zugriff auf Administratorebene erfolgt,
und danach das Administrator Passwort sofort geändert wird. Die
zugehĂśrigen PasswĂśrter sind nachstehend aufgefĂźhrt:
Administrator  —  admin
Benutzer        —  user
Die Serviceebene bedarf einer zusätzlichen Genehmigung und
Funktion, die nicht fĂźr den Administrator oder Standardbenutzer zur
Verfßgung stehen. Kontaktieren Sie Dräger fßr weitere Information.
 Nur bei der Erstinstalllation Üffnet das Programm ein Fenster mit den
PC-Verbindungsoption. Die entsprechende Einstellung ist wie folgt
auszuwählen:
• Liste mit den Produktnamen öffnen und Bodyguard oder Sentinel
auswählen. Keine weiteren Änderungen oder Einstellungen
während dieser Phase vornehmen.
• Speichern wählen
• Mit OK bestätigen

Einstellparameter, etc., Hilfe-Datei der PSSÂŽ 7000 PC
Link Software verwenden.
  
Das
Programmieren
einer
unbeschriebenen
Identifikationskarte ist nur mĂśglich, wenn die
Benutzerschnittstelle vom PC Verbindungsmodul entfernt
   wird.

Wenn eine programmierte Identifikationskarte eingelgt
ist und gegen die Benutzerschnittstelle direkt hinter die
Anzeige gehalten wird, ist es mĂśglich die erforderlichen
  
persĂśnlichen Daten vom Transponder der ID-Karte auf den
Chip der Schnittstelle zu Ăźbertragen oder vom Chip der Schnittstelle
auf den Transponder der ID Karte zu laden. Beachten Sie hierzu die
Gebrauchsanweisung des Dräger Sentinel or Bodyguard 7000.

Das PC-Verbindungsmodul nicht in ReinigungsflĂźssigkeit
tauchen.


Bei Bedarf Schmutz und Verunreinigungen vorsichtig mit einem
fusselfreien, in milder SeifenlĂśsung angefeuchteten Tuch entfernen. Die
Oberflächen des Geräts mit einem sauberen, fusselfreien Tuch und einem
antistatischen Marken-Reinigungsmittel reinigen. Nach der Reinigung
darauf achten, dass USB-Kabel und AnschlĂźsse sauber, trocken und nicht
beschädigt sind.
Systemanforderungen
Hardwareanforderungen PC:
Mindestens Pentium Prozessor 166 MHz (>300 MHz besser), 32 MB
RAM, 100 MB verfĂźgbarer Speicherplatz auf der Festplatte. >1 MB
Grafikkarte (>4 MB besser) mit MindestauflĂśsung 800 x 600 Pixel.
UnterstĂźtzte Betriebssysteme:
Windows 2000, Windows XP und Windows Vista
Keine organischen LÜsemittel wie Azeton, Alkohol, Terpentinersatz, Trichlorethylen o.ä. benutzen.

Obwohl DrägerLimited sich bemßht fßr die Richtigkeit der Angaben zu sorgen, geben wir diesbezßglich

 Bedien- und Anzeigegerät wie in Abb. 1 gezeigt auf das PCVerbindungsmodul setzen.
 Die linke Taste des Bedien- und Anzeigegeräts drßcken. Das Gerät
piepst einmal und der Selbsttest beginnt. Während des Selbsttests
die Taste "Connect" am PC-Bildschirm drĂźcken. Bei erfolgreicher
Verbindung des Bedien- und Anzeigegeräts mit der Software
erscheint das Symbol      auf der Anzeige und der Kreis oben rechts
auf dem PC-Bildschirm wird grĂźn.
 Beim Herunterladen geänderter Parameter zum Bedienund Anzeigegerät flackert die grßne LED vorn auf dem PCVerbindungsmodul. Nach Abschluss des Herunterladens geht die
LED aus.
Das PSS® 7000 PC-Verbindungsmodul erfordert keine regelmäßige
Wartung durch den Anwender, außer: Visuelle Untersuchung auf
Schäden.
Das PC-Verbindungs-Softwarepaket wird mit folgenden Teilen geliefert:
 1 PC-Verbindungsmodul (Abb. 1)
 1 USB-Verbindungskabel
 1 Installations-CD-ROM
 10 unbeschriebene ID Karten
 1 Halter
 4 Schrauben fßr Halter
 Auf ausreichend verfßgbaren Speicherplatz auf der Festplatte
achten (100 MB).
