Essex Prox Series Proximity readers; Output: 26 Bit Wiegand Open Format
Voltage(s): 5 VDC, +/- 0.1V 100mA 12 VDC, +/- 3.0V 100mA
Temperature: -40º C to +70º C (-40º F to +160º F)
These Readers are internally selectable for 5 or 12 Volts. There are internal circuits that will automatically switch the
device from 5 V operation to 12 V operation when the applied voltage is 12 V. DATA 1 and DATA 0 signals are open
collector outputs with 10K resistor pull-ups to the internal +5V. The data is sent at 1 mSec per bit with a pulse duration
of 50 uSec. An annunciator beeps with each card read. The idle LED color that is illuminated will blink off with every
card read, and the prox read color will blink on.

LED Control, grounded = “Access Granted” illumination, default is green.
Yellow
Audio Control, grounded = continuous beep
Violet
LED control, grounded = “Access Denied” & “Access Granted” illumination to flash at a
half second rate.
Orange
LED Control grounded = “Access Denied” color, default is red
Reads select HID Global, & AWID proximity formats.

cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause
