This is necessary forproper network setup by SCK Direct, Inc.INSTALLATION WITHOUTDOOR OPEN/CLOSE FEATURE1a. Choose a location for the SmartSensor to be installed. Usethe SmartSensor mounting bracket as a template and markthe locations of the 2 mounting holes.View the tentative positioning and ensure that there are nolocation problems. Drill the 2 holes with the appropriate drillbit as defined in Tools Required. Insert screws and mountbracket.Changes or modifications not expresslyapproved by SCK Direct, Inc. could void theuser's authority to operate the equipment.NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to complywith the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 ofthe FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonableprotection against harmful interference in a residential installa-tion. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radiofrequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordancewith the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radiocommunications. However, there is no guarantee that interfer-ence will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipmentdoes cause harmful interference to radio or television reception,which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on,the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by oneor more of the following measures:Reorient or relocate the receivingantenna.Increase the separation between the equipment andreceiver.Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit differentfrom that to which the receiver is connected.Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician forhelp.

Adhere oneside of Velcro to the mounting surface and one side ofVelcro to the back side of bracket.2. With the SmartSensor located within 10 feet of your SCKSmart Direct 2, SCK Kitchen Advisor, or (FAST.) XwireTMWireless Gateway, wave the supplied magnet across theembossed rectangle located on the bottom of theSmartSensor at a maximum distance of .25” (6.35 mm).Confirm the SmartSensor wakes up. You should see an LEDinside the SmartSensor flash for 10 seconds before turningoff. STORE MAGNET FOR FUTURE USE.NOTE: If the SmartSensor does not wake up, bring it close tothe SCK Smart Direct 2 so you can see the signal strengthindicator on the front. Wave magnet across the SmartSensoragain. If the SCK Smart Direct 2 lights flash, the SmartSensoris already activated.3a. Clip the SmartSensor into its bracket.3b. Adhere SmartSensor assembly to mounting surface andensure it is secure.4. Your SmartSensor(s) will now be activated. Call the SCKHelpdesk at 1-866-840-4271 (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST) toconfirm Sensors are on the network.installation guideINSTALLATION WITHDOOR OPEN/CLOSE FEATUREINSTALLING THE SmartSensor1a. The SmartSensor should be installed in the center of thedoor opening at the top of the door frame. Use theSmartSensor mounting bracket as a template and mark thelocations of the 2 mounting holes. Be sure to leave enoughroom for the door to close.View the tentative positioning and ensure there are no loca-tion problems. Drill the 2 holes with the appropriate drill bitas defined in Tools Required. Insert screws and mountbracket.1b. If holes cannot be drilled, use supplied Velcro. Beforemounting, clean surface with an alcohol pad. Adhere oneside of Velcro to the mounting surface and one side ofVelcro to the back side of bracket.2. Line the magnet up with the rectangle.5a. Using the open end of this instruction manual as a gauge,place the manual between the bottom of the SmartSensorand the top of the magnet being sure to keep the magnetaligned with the embossed rectangle. NOTE:The maximumspace allowed between the SmartSensor and top ofmagnet is 0.25” (6.35 mm).Use the magnet as a template and mark the locations of the2 mounting holes. View the tentative positioning andensure there are no location problems. Drill the 2 holes withthe appropriate drill bit as defined in Tools Required. Insertscrews and mount magnet.EMBOSSEDRECTANGLE5b. If holes cannot be drilled, use supplied Velcro. Beforemounting, clean surface with an alcohol pad. Adhere oneside of Velcro to the mounting surface and one side ofVelcro to the magnet.6. Your SmartSensor will now be activated.
