2 | How to attach and detach the PS4 ChatBoostTM to the
DualShock4TM controller
1. To attach the PS4 ChatBoostTM to the DualShock4TM controller, align the
headphone and EXT ports on the controller with those on the ChatBoostTM and
slide until it snaps into place.
2. To remove the PS4 ChatBoostTM
from the DualShock4TM
controller, gently lift the
clip above the PS button
and slide off the
PS4 ChatboostTM .

5 | How to turn ON the PS4 ChatBoostTM
How to turn on the PS4 ChatBoostTM
1. Slide the 3-way switch to the middle position (ON status).
2. If no indicator signal (Keyboard Backlight flashing), please perform the Bluetooth
pairing as stated in following section “Bluetooth pairing”.
3. If no indicator signal after you press and hold for 3 seconds on BT link button,
possibly the PS4 ChatBoostTM is out of power, and please follow to procedures in
section “Charge up the built-in battery” to charge up the built-in battery first.
4. If the Keyboard Backlight LED’s blink once in every 2 seconds, the keyboard is ready
to be paired.

TYPING
● To input the character/symbol printed on the button, press once on the button.
● To input the character/symbol printed on top left-hand side of the button,
press the “Fn1” key and the button together.
● To input the character/symbol printed on top right-hand side of the button,
press the “Fn2” key and the button together.
● To use the keyboard shortcuts function (e.g. Fn + C to copy, Fn + V to paste),
press either FN key and the corresponding button together.

4 | Charge up the built-in Battery
How to charge up the PS4 ChatBoost TM 1500mAh built-in Li rechargeable battery:
1. Plug in a standard USB charging cable to the Micro USB “B” socket on the front of the
PS4 ChatBoostTM.
2. Connect the other end of USB charging cable to standard 5V USB socket (e.g. a USB
socket of a personal computer or cellphone charger).
3.The Backlight Keyboard LEDs on PS4 ChatBoost TM will light up continuously during
charging operation.
4. Approximately 6 hours to fully charge up the built-in battery from completely
empty.
5. Once the built-in battery is fully charged, Keyboard Backlight LED on the PS4
Chatboost TM will turn off.
6. Please remove the USB charging cable to save power.
7. It is recommended when first using the ChatBoost TM to fully charge it for at least
8 hours, this helps improve battery functionality & longevity.
The PS4 ChatBoost TM can simultaneously charge itself whilst being operational as a
Bluetooth keyboard.
6. After successfully pairing & connected, the Keyboard Backlight LED’s on PS4
ChatBoostTM will illuminate for 3 seconds then go off. Pressing any key will
illuminate the keyboard, useful at night or in dark environments.
7. Once successfully paired the devices, next time when you turn on the PS4
ChatBoostTM it will automatically connect to your device.
8. Due to interference in the environment, the auto-connection may fail sometimes,
please delete the “PS4 CHATBOOST” in the BT available list of your PS4 or PSVTV
device, then repeat the pairing procedures 3~5 to establish a new connection.
The PS4 ChatBoost also provides additional power that enables you to charge your PS4
DualShock4 Controller while you play, this feature allows the player extended gaming
sessions without the worry of loss of power or connection.
1. Turn the PS4 ChatBoostTM switch fully to the right position (Battery Graphic), your
PS4 DualShock TM controller will automatically start to charge up.
2. During charging of your PS4 DualShock4TM Controller you still can use the PS4
ChatBoostTM for typing.
3. Please check to the PS4 DualShock4TM Controllers settings to see its charge status,
this can be done by holding the PS button down for 2 seconds.
4. If you are charging your PS4 Controller whilst the PS4 Console is OFF the front LED
bar on your PS4 DualShock4TM controller will glow orange to inform you it is
charging.

Before you can use your PS4 ChatBoost with your PS4 or PSV TV Console, you’ll need to
pair the 2 devices together as follows:
1. Switch ON the PS4 ChatBoostTM (slide the 3- way switch to middle position).
2. Search for new Bluetooth devices on your PS4 or PSV TV Console by going
into Settings>Devices >Bluetooth Devices.
3. Press and hold the BT Link button for 3 seconds on the PS4 ChatBoostTM, the
keyboard backlight LEDs will start to blink.
4. Wait until “PS4 CHATBOOST” is displayed on your PS4 or PSVTV device
(normally within 30 seconds of searching for new devices).
5. Select the “PS4 CHATBOOST” to pair with it, input the “pin” displayed on your
devices screen into the keyboard & press the “Enter key” to pair. . With the latest PSN
update pairing may be automatic and not require a PIN.

The PS4 can set the headset port to “all audio” or “chat audio”. If the output to
headphones is set to “All Audio” and the Chatboost is attached to the Dualshock 4 controller
the PS4 sees the audio connector and will transfer audio to the Chatboost as it should. All
audio will not only be heard if a headset is connected to the Headset port on the Chatboost.
If the user is using the Chatboost without headphones, the user simply changes the
headphone output to Chat only. Now game audio will be heard through the TV/Speakers.
To change the Headphone Setting on the PS4
1.Hold The PS Button for 3 seconds
2.Select [Adjust Devices] > [Output to Headphones]
3.Choose [All Audio] or [Chat Audio]
You can adjust settings for output to a headset or other audio device. You can also specify
whether the device receives all audio or only chat audio. The default setting is [Chat Audio].

13 | Trouble Shooting
Power/Status Keyboard Backlight LEDs will start to flash once every 10 seconds. When
the internal battery of the PS4 ChatBoost TM is under ‘very low battery status’, Power/
Status Keyboard Backlight LEDs will start to flash five times every 10 seconds.
● The low battery signal will keep flashing when the PS4 ChatBoost TM is turned on as
to remind you to recharge the built-in Li battery when available.
● Low battery status will not flash when switched off.

● Do not put metal objects inside the USB socket.
● Do not disassemble the device.
● PS4 ChatBoost TM contains a Lithium Battery. On disposal, please follow safety
precautions according to your countries laws on the handling of toxic materials.
● Do not expose the device to fire / water / microwaves (oven).
● Do not pierce the device with sharp instruments.
● If fluid is seen coming out of the device, do not touch or allow it to come into contact
with the eyes, if eye contact occurs, do not rub area, rinse with water & seek medical
attention immediately.
