MESH2400 Radio Installation Guidelines To com ply w ith regulatory requirem ents products containing the G E M D S m odule shall: 1. In addition to any labeling requirem ents for the host system (such as those required by FC C Part 15 and IC ES-003 for a digital device) the host device shall clearly display the FC C ID and Industry C anada num ber for the m odule on the outside of the device. W ording should be of the form at: C ontains FC C ID : E5M D S-M ESH 2400 C ontains 101D -M ESH 2400 2. The m odule can only be used w ith the antennas associated w ith the device approvals. A t this tim e those antennas are: Y agi: 97-4278A 01 O m ni: 97-4278A 48 Panel: 97-4278A 16 The system can only be operated w ith the antennas w ith w hich it w as approved. W here the device has been subject to professional installation requirem ents the antenna m ay not be changed except by the professional installer. 3. The m odule can only be installed in host system s m anufactured b y G E M D S. The installation does not currently allow for collocating the device w ith other transm itters. 4. In addition to the relevant m anual statem ents required by FC C Part 15 / IC ES 003 for digital devices the host system m anual m ust contain the follow ing statem ent: O peration is subject to the follow ing tw o conditions: (1) this device m ay not cause interference, and (2) this device m ust accept any interference, including interference that m ay cause undesired operation of the device. 5. The m anual for the host system m ust also clearly explain the antenna installation requirem ents. The antenna installation requirem ents shall include the follow ing statem ents: To com ply w ith rf exposure requirem ents the antenna shall be installed to ensure a m inim um separation distance of 20cm from persons. The antenna m ay not be collocated or operated in conjunction w ith other transm itting devices. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated pow er (e.i.r.p.) is not m ore than that perm itted for successful com m unication. W here the host system uses standard rf connectors then professional installation for that system m ust be ensured in accordance with the policies already in place for sim ilar part 15 system s. 6. The m odular approval only covers the host system âs com pliance with the technical requirem ents for the intentional radiator. Com plete system verification against the digital device requirem ents of FCC Part 15, IC ES 003 or other pertinent rules is required. MESH2400 MDS MESH2400 Radio Installation Guidelines 1 of 1
