WARNING:Do not use with water that is
microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quali_'
without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

• Check with your state and local public works
department
for plumbing and sanitation codes.
You must follow these guidelines as you install
the Household Water Filuadon System. Using
a qualified installer is recommended.

• It is highly recommended
that a water shut-off vane
be placed directly upstream of your household filter.

• Be sure the water supply conforms with the Specifications
Guidelines,If the water supply conditions
are unknown,
contact your municipal water company.

INSTALLATION

ThisHouseholdWaterFiltrationSystemmustbe properlyinstatedand locatedin accordancewith theInstallationInstructionsbefore# is used.
• Checkwith yourlocal public works departmentfor
plumbingcodes.Youmustfollow the#guides as you
install the HouseholdWater FiltrationSystem.

• Do not install on HOT WATER.The temperature of the
water supply to the Household Filtration Systenl must
be between the minimum of 40°F and the maximum
of 100°F. See the Spocification Guidolinos.

• Usethe HouseholdWater FiltrationSystemon a potable,
safe-to-drink,home COLDwater supplyonly. Thefilter
cartridgewill not purify water or make unsafewater safe
to drink.DONOT use on HOT water (IOO°Fmax).
• Protectthe HouseholdWater FiltrationSystemand piping
fromfreezing. Water freezingin the systemwill damageit.
• YourHouseholdWaterFiltrationSystemwill withstandup to
125psi water pressure.If yourhousewater supplypressure
is higherthan 100psi duringthe day (it may reach higher
levels at night),install a pressure-reducingvalvebeforethe
systemis installed.

• Do not install the Household _4_ter Filtration System
using copper solder fittings. The heat from the soldering
process will damage the unit.

material after installation. Small parts remaining after
installation could be a choke hazard.
• Do not install filter in an outside location
it will be exposed to sunlight.

Install Fittings
InsUuctions are for installing fittings supplied with tile
filter (oil some models) or the WHKIT onto 3/4" copper
plumbing. If tile unit is to be installed on any other type of
robing (plastic, PVC, galvanized), dift_rent hardware must be
purchased. See insuuctions with additional hardware
purchased, or consult a qualified plumbeL

Assemble
an adapter
to tile inlet and outlet of tile head.
Start each fitdng by hand to make sure they don't cross
thread.
Use a 1½" wrench
firmly. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
About one to two thread(s)
should remain visible.

Teflon® tape

Apply about 6" of Teflon _>rope, in a clockwise direction, to
tile pipe threads (course) of each adapter. D0 N0T use joint
compound on any parts.
Cut Water Line

V_]Using a pipe cutter or hacksaw, cut pipe. Sand (file) cut
ends of pipe to assure that tile), are square and smooth.

Avant toute utilisation, on doit installer le systOmede filtration d'eau (usage domestique) soit _ un emplacement adOquat
conformOment aux instructions

d'installation.

• Consulterle service local des travaux publics au sujet des
codes de plomberie. LTnstallationdu sFstemede filtration d'eau
doit _tre conforme aux prescriptions du code de plomberie local
• Utiliser le systeme de filtration d'eau uniquement sur une
canalisation d'eau potable FROIDE.Les cartouches de filtration
ne purifient pas I'eau et ne peuvent rendre potable une eau qui
ne I'est pas. NE PASutiliser ce produit sur une canalisation
d'eau CHAUDE (100°/=maximum).
• Proteger le systeme de filtration d'eau et la tuyauterie centre
le gel. La congelation d'eau dans le systeme lui fera subir des
dommages.
• Le systeme de filtration d'eau peut resister a une pression
maximale de 125Ib/po 2.Si la pression de distribution locale est
superieure a 100Ib/po 2durant la journee (elle peut atteindre un
niveau plus eleve la nuit), installer un robinet de reduction de
pression en amont du systeme de filtration d'eau.
