The SDM2 Speed and Distance Monitor (foot
pod) must be attached securely on the shoe
of the user as shown. The pod must stay in
place on the shoe for optimum accuracy.
Press the button for 1-2 seconds to
power on the pod. The red light
slowly blinks, indicating the pod is
powered on and sending data. If the
red light is solid, the pod is not
transmitting data and may require
service.
After running, press and hold the
button to turn off the pod. The red
light becomes solid as the button is
held and then turns off as the pod
powers off.

The SDM2 Speed and Distance Monitor must “pair” with an ANT-enabled sports monitoring watch in
order to display performance data to the user. Pairing is required only for first use and after a battery
change. To pair your monitor:
Power on the SDM2 Speed and Distance Monitor. Bring the pod within 10-30 inches (25-75 cm) of
the sports monitoring watch.
Ensure that you are standing at least 72 inches (183 cm) away from any other ANT-enabled speed and
distance monitor. You can be in proximity to other ANT-enabled devices.
After the SDM2 Speed and Distance Monitor pairs with the sports monitoring watch, the running
shoe icon appears on the watch’s LCD display. The pod and the watch remain paired until a battery
change.
If the watch has previously paired with a different foot pod, subsequent re-pairing is necessary. The re-
pairing procedure is similar to pairing except that the SDM2 Speed and Distance Monitor must be started
in RF Pair Mode. To power on the pod in RF Pair Mode, press and hold the button for 3-6 seconds. RF
Pair Mode lasts for 60 seconds and is indicated by a double-blinking red light.

Your SDM2 Speed and Distance Monitor uses one AAA battery, which is estimated to last 65-70 hours.
Power off the pod after running to lengthen battery life. The battery hatch is located on the front flat end
of the monitor and can be opened with a coin. Select a coin that fits the slot on the battery door. Insert the
coin into the slot and, applying firm downward pressure, turn the coin counterclockwise to open and
remove the battery door. Insert the battery with the positive end first. Replace the battery door. Insert the
coin into the slot and, applying firm downward pressure, turn the coin clockwise to close.
