GNT™ 10 InstallationInstructionsThe GNT 10 extends the range of Garmin® wirelessmarine devices, such as a remote control or wirelessmouse, and adds additional capabilities to morefeature-rich wireless devices, such as the quatix™watch. The GNT 10 connects to an existing NMEA2000® network on your boat. Extreme-temperature-induceddamage and related consequences are not coveredby the warranty.When selecting a mounting location, observe theseconsiderations.• Metal and other dense materials may inhibitcommunication between this device and Garminwireless marine devices. The intended mountinglocation must be tested to make sure this devicereliably communicates with your wireless deviceseverywhere you plan to use them on the boat.• You can use the included screws to mount thedevice on your boat. If the included screws arenot appropriate for the mounting surface, suitablehardware must be purchased separately.Mounting the Device1Determine the mounting location.2Using the device as a template, mark the twopilot hole locations on the mounting surface.3Using a 1/8 in. (3 mm) bit, drill the pilot holes.4Use the included screws to attach the device tothe mounting surface.NMEA 2000 ConnectionConsiderations• This device connects to an existing NMEA 2000network on your boat.• If you are unfamiliar with NMEA 2000, youshould read the “NMEA 2000 NetworkFundamentals” chapter of the TechnicalReference for NMEA 2000 Products, available onthe Garmin web site. Click the “Manuals” link onthe product page for your device at www.garmin.com.• If the cable connected to the device is not longenough to reach your NMEA 2000 network, anextension of up to 16.5 ft. If the LEDdoes not change to flashing greenafter a short time, the device may notbe not working correctly. A softwareupdate using a Garmin chartplotterconnected to the same NMEA 2000network may correct the problem.FlashingquicklyThe device is not receiving NMEA2000 data. The NMEA 2000 networkshould be checked for properinstallation and operation.Auto MOBWhen paired with a Garmin quatix watch, this deviceis capable of triggering an automatic man overboard(MOB) event.A Garmin quatix watch must be paired with thisdevice for the auto MOB feature to work properly.The owner's manual provided with your watchcontains detailed instructions on pairing and autoMOB setup.After auto MOB is enabled on a paired watch, thisdevice monitors the connection with the watch.When the connection to the watch is lost for tenseconds, this device triggers a system-wide MOBevent.
