Introduction WARNINGSee the Important Safety and ProductInformation guide in the product box forproduct warnings and other importantinformation.Always consult your physician before youbegin or modify any exercise program.Charging the DeviceNOTICETo prevent corrosion, thoroughly dry theUSB port, the weather cap, and thesurrounding area before charging orconnecting to a computer.The device is powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery that you can charge using astandard wall outlet or a USB port on yourcomputer.NOTE: The device will not charge whenoutside the approved temperature range(page 9).1Pull up the weather cap À from theUSB port Á.2Plug the small end of the USB cableinto the USB port on the device.3Plug the large end of the USB cableinto an AC adapter or a computer USBport.4Plug the AC adapter into a standardwall outlet.When you connect the device to apower source, the device turns on.5Charge the device completely.Installing the Standard MountFor the best GPS reception, position themount so the front of the device isoriented toward the sky. 1Select a secure location to mount thedevice where it does not interfere withsafe operation.2 IntroductionDRAFT

4Place the rubber pad around theproduct:• If the diameter is25.4 mm, use the thicker pad.• If the diameter is31.8 mm, use the thinner pad.5Place the connector aroundthe rubber pad.6Replace and tighten the screw.NOTE: Garmin® recommends a torquespecification of 7 lbf-in. (0.8 N-m).
