2In the Garmin Express application, select Tools.3Follow the on-screen instructions to set up a Wi‑Finetwork.TIP: You can register your device at this time.Your device attempts to upload your saved activity toyour Garmin Connect account following each activity.Running DynamicsYou can use your compatible device paired withthe accessory to provide real-time feedbackabout your running form. If your device waspackaged with the accessory, the devices arealready paired.The accessory has an accelerometer in themodule that measures torso movement in order to calculatesix running metrics. For more information about runningdynamics, see your owner's manual.Cadence: Cadence is the number of steps per minute. Itdisplays the total steps (right and left combined).Vertical oscillation: Vertical oscillation is your bounce whilerunning. It displays the vertical motion of your torso,measured in centimeters for each step.Ground contact time: Ground contact time is the amount oftime in each step that you spend on the ground whilerunning. It is measured in milliseconds.NOTE: Ground contact time is not available whilewalking.Ground contact time balance: Ground contact timebalance displays the left/right balance of your groundcontact time while running. Stride length: Stride length is the length of your stride fromone footfall to the next. It is measured in meters.Vertical ratio: Vertical ratio is the ratio of vertical oscillationto stride length. It displays a percentage. A lowernumber typically indicates better running form.Physiological MeasurementsThese physiological measurements require a compatibleheart rate monitor. The measurements are estimates thatcan help you track and understand your training runs andrace performances.NOTE: The estimates may seem inaccurate at first. Thedevice requires a few runs to learn about your runningperformance. For more information, see your owner'smanual.VO2 max.: VO2 max. is the maximum volume of oxygen (inmilliliters) you can consume per minute per kilogram ofbody weight at your maximum performance.Predicted race times: Your device uses the VO2 max.estimate and published data sources to provide a targetrace time based on your current state of fitness. Thisprojection also presumes you have completed theproper training for the race.Recovery advisor: The recovery advisor displays howmuch time remains before you are fully recovered andready for the next hard workout.Stress score: Stress score measures your heart ratevariability while standing still for 3 minutes. It providesyour overall stress level. The scale is 1 to 100, and alower score indicates a lower stress level.Performance condition: Your performance condition is areal-time assessment after running for 6 to 12 minutes.8     Quick Start ManualDRAFT
It can be added as a data field so you can view yourperformance condition during the rest of your run. Itcompares your real-time condition to your averagefitness level.Lactate threshold: Lactate threshold is the point whereyour muscles start to rapidly fatigue. Your devicemeasures your lactate threshold level using heart rateand pace.HistoryHistory includes time, distance, calories, average pace orspeed, lap data, and optional ANT+ sensor information.NOTE: When the device memory is full, your oldest data isoverwritten.Viewing History1Select   > History > Activities.2Scroll up and down to view your saved activities.3Select an activity.4Select an option:• Select Details to view additional information aboutthe activity.•Select Laps to select a lap and view additionalinformation about each lap.• Select Delete to delete the selected activity.Sending Data to Your Garmin Connect AccountYou can upload all of your activity data to your GarminConnect account for comprehensive analysis.
