GUIDE FORM SPECIFICATIONS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The totally enclosed, weather-resistant luminaire designated

_______ (identify) shall be a GE WALLIGHTER 250 Cutoff lumi-

naire, ordering number _______ (specify W25C0, plus order-

ing number logic from catalog) or approved equal, to operate

one _______ (specify [50, 70, 100, 150(55V), 200 or 250] watt

high pressure sodium [HPS] or 175 or 250 watt metal halide

or 175 watt mercury mogul base or [70, 100 or 150(55V)] watt

HPS or [70, 100 or 175] watt metal halide or 175 watt mercury

medium base) lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120,

208, 240, 277, 347 or 480) volt, 60 Hertz power source. The

luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast

and an optical assembly that shall provide an IES Distribution

Type SC3. The luminaire shall be UL/cUL Listed SUITABLE FOR

WET LOCATIONS. Standard construction is IP55. Ballast, hous-

ing, optical and luminaire assembly shall all be from the same

manufacturer.

OPTICAL ASSEMBLY

WALLIGHTER 250 CUTOFF LUMINAIRE

The optical assembly shall include a tempered glass lens, top

and rear aluminum reflectors with an Alzak✝ finish and a ______

(specify mogul base socket with superior lamp gripping or a

medium base socket with specified medium base lamp sup-

plied. The mogul base E39 socket shall have added insulation,

giving it the ability to handle the higher pulse ratings of newer

HID systems.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION

The luminaire shall include a three-piece die-cast aluminum

housing with an electrocoat dark bronze paint finish and glass

lens. There shall be weatherproof neoprene gaskets around

the optical edge and the wiring and mounting holes. Mounting

shall be by two 3/8-inch (9.5mm) bolts through provided back

holes or to a 4-inch (102 mm) outlet box. There shall be 3/4-

inch (19mm) conduit entrances with built-in clamps provided

on the sides for through-feed wiring. The luminaire shall have

standard and vandal-resistant screws provided to secure the

optical to the housing. Removal of the optical shall allow direct

front access to the lamp, socket, ballast and reflector. The lu-

minaire shall have provisions for a field-installed photoelectric

control kit.

BALLAST OPERATION

The luminaire shall have a standard _______ (specify) ballast*.

The ignitor (for HPS only) and ballast shall be prewired to the

lamp socket requiring connection of power supply leads only.

The ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast speci-

fications available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp

manufacturers at the time of fixture manufacture.

The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambient

temperatures down to -20°F for mercury and metal halide and

-40°F for HPS.
