USer Manual
For Internal Use Griffin Bluetooth Module 100‐4077 Guide This device is granted modular approval for use in other devices and must be used according to the following guidelines. The Bluetooth module must use a copper plated cold rolled steel shield, it should be 28.7mm x 16.9mm and covers all of the circuitry except for the antenna, jumper resistors on the SPI and USB interfaces (only used for testing/programming/configuration) and varistors used for ESD protection on the power and signal lines. The shield must be soldered along all four lines with a small gap for the antenna trace to exit and be electrically connected to ground. The module contains a PCB-trace type Printed Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA). As it is a PCB trace antenna, this antenna is non-removable. The end user should not be able to access the antenna or add an antenna. The module is only intended for use with this antenna, and does not contain an RF connector of any sort for supporting additional antennas. The module must be connected to an off-module host processor via a UART interface on header J5 For the FCC, the modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number, and, if the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: PAV100-4077” or “Contains FCC ID: PAV1004077.” The user guide must have the following statement and information provided to the user: “This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or tv interference caused by unauthorized modifications to this equipment. Such modifications could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.” Company name, contact info, Product model# For Internal Use Griffin Bluetooth Module 100‐4077 Guide Per Industry Canada requirements, the following (both English and French wording) must appear in the user’s manual of the end product: “Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by Industry Canada. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that necessary for successful communication. For Industry Canada, the module meets certification labeling requirements. Host devices that contain separately certified modules do not need to be re-certified, provided that they meet the following conditions: • The host device, as a stand alone unit without any separately certified modules, complies with all applicable Radio Standards Specifications. • The host device and all the separately certified modules it contains jointly meet the safety requirements of RSS-102, if applicable. • The host device complies with the certification labeling requirements of each of the modules it contains. For Internal Use Griffin Bluetooth Module 100‐4077 Guide The user guide must contain the following statements (both English and French) with the IC statement and company info: This device complies with RSS-210 of the Industry Canada Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or tv interference caused by unauthorized modifications to this equipment. Such modifications could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. The device is available on the Canadian market under part 6384A-1004077 Le présent appareil est conforme aux CNR d'Industrie Canada applicables aux appareils radio exempts de licence.
