Read and understand all instructions before
you use the system. If damage is caused by
failure to follow instructions, the warranty will
not apply.
Do not operate the audio system in an
unsafe manner while driving.
Do not dismantle, assemble, or modify the
audio system.
Do not look at the screen for long periods of
time while driving.
To reduce the risk of traffic accidents, do not
watch the screen when driving.
Set the volume to a level which allows you to
be aware of external conditions.
Use only the supplied mounting hardware for
safe operation.
Driving while distracted can result in a loss of vehicle control, that may
lead to an accident, severe personal injury, and/or death. The driver’s
primary responsibility is in the safe and legal operation of a vehicle, and
use of any handheld devices, other equipment, or vehicle systems
which take the driver’s eyes, attention and focus away from the safe
operation of a vehicle or which are not permissible by law should never
be used during operation of the vehicle.

911 Connect activates after an airbag
deployment. Feature requires a connected
mobile phone via Bluetooth. Dependant on

The rear-camera display is not a substitute
for proper and safe backing-up procedures.
The rear-camera display may not display
every object behind the vehicle. Always drive

1. Turn on the ignition.
2. While the system is off, press the
POWER/VOL
knob to turn the system on.
3. The system will automatically restore the
most recently played mode. For example,
pressing the
POWER/VOL
knob will turn on
the system and display FM radio mode if
FM mode had been the last operated
mode prior to turning off the system.
4. You can also turn the system on by
pressing the FM
/
AM , SAT and MEDIA
keys.

Pressing any one of the FM
/
AM , SAT ,
and MEDIA keys will turn on the system
and display the last mode corresponding to
each key. For example, pressing the MEDIA
key while a CD or other media source is
loaded, will turn on the system and display
CD mode if the last operated MEDIA mode
prior to turning off the system had been CD
mode.
2. Turning System Power Off
1. While the system is on, press the
POWER/VOL
knob to turn off the system.

If the system power was on when the ignition
was turned off, the system will turn back on
automatically. Conversely, if the system
power was off when the ignition was turned
off, the system will remain off.
●
If the battery voltage is low, the audio may
take a prolonged time to boot upon turning
on the vehicle.

Select Display Language
The UVO system allows you to select the
preferred display language for maximum
convenience and system usability. The system
provides you with options of three languages -
English, French (Canadian) and Spanish. The
default language is English.
1. Press the SETUP key on the control panel.
2. Press the Main button.
3. Press the English button next to the
Language menu.
4. Select the desired language.
5. The system will reboot and automatically
restore the most recent mode in the new
language.
Resetting and Initializing
UVO system
1. Resetting the system
If the system is behaving abnormally, press the
reset button to reset the system.
1. Use a ball-point pen or similar object to
press the RESET key.
2. The system will reboot and automatically
restore the most recent mode.
Caution
●
The reset button should only be used in case
of system malfunction. Never use the reset
key while the system is operating normally.
●
If you wish to reset while the system is
operating normally, turn the power off first
then reset.

1. Press the SETUP key on the control panel.
2. Press the System button.
3. Press the Factory defaults button.
Note

Initializing the system will erase all Phone
settings, and other changes which you have
made to the system.
●
Some songs in the USB or CD may be
misrecognized during the indexing process.
If such problems persist, reset the device
using the Factory Defaults button in
SETUP>System.
●

Sound Settings
Sound settings can be adjusted from any audio
mode. The system allows you to optimize
various sound settings to add convenience
when listening to the system.
Press the Sound button on the main screen of
each audio mode (FM/AM, SIRIUS
TM
, MEDIA,
JUKEBOX) to enter Sound Setup.
Note
●
Changes are saved as they are made. In
other words, once you change a setting, the
new setting will become saved.
1. FADER/BALANCE
Fader/Balance allows you to adjust the position
of sound within the vehicle. For instance,

3. Scanning FM/AM broadcast
frequencies
Radio broadcasts can be scanned to conve-
niently find radio broadcasts with high quality
reception. Each radio broadcast will be played
for 5 seconds. This feature is particularly use-
ful when traveling in new areas.

revolution, the scan function will terminate
automatically and the previously played fre-
quency will be restored.
4. Preset Scan
Preset scan will scan presets in the current
band (FM-12 presets, AM-6 presets)in

5. Listening to HD RadioTM Stations
(Optional)
HD RadioTM Technology is a digital radio tech-
nology used by AM and FM radio stations to
transmit audio and data via a digital signal in
conjunction with their analog signals.
1. While listening to the radio, the HD RadioTM
icon will become displayed if receiving an
HD RadioTM broadcast.

6. Viewing FM/AM Station information

MEDIA MODE
The MEDIA mode within your UVO system
offers a variety of media modes which allow
you convenience and ease in operating your
system. Media mode includes a variety of
modes, such as audio CD, MP3 CD, USB,
iPod®, zune®, BT audio, Aux and Pandora. The
features listed below describe common fea-
tures which you will encounter when operating
Audio CD, MP3 CD, USB, iPod®, zune®, and
JUKEBOX modes.

1. Insert or connect the desired media (Audio
CD, MP3 CD, USB, iPod®, zune®) or press
the MEDIA key on the control panel if the
desired media has already been inserted

Cautions upon handling Audio CDs
1. Precautions upon handling discs

Store discs within their intended cases to
prevent scratches.
●
Never use heart-shaped, octagon-
shaped or any other abnormally shaped
discs.
●
Never expose discs to direct sunlight for
prolonged periods of time. Such expo-
sure may lead to disc deformation.
●
Never clean with solvents, such as anti-
static sprays, cleaners, benzene, or
thinners.
●
Dust, scratches, and other foreign sub-
stances may cause popping sounds as
well as sound deterioration.
●
Never place paper on either side of the
disc or write on disc surfaces.
●
Clean fingerprints and dust off the signal
surface (coated side) of the disc with a
soft cloth.
●
Copy-protected CDs, such as S-type
CDs may not operate properly in the
system.
●
Data CDs are not supported by the system.
2. For safe and efficient operation
●
Never disassemble the CD Player(CDP)
for repair purposes. Contact your place
of purchase in case of malfunction. (Full
service assistance will not be provided if
the user disassembles the device.)
●
Never use water to clean the system.
●
Use caution not to introduce foreign sub-
stances into the disc slot.
●
The system may not operate in extremely
hot or cold temperatures. (The opera-
tional temperature range is:
14℉ ~ 149℉).
●
Steam may condense on the fiber optic
lens due to rain, wet conditions, or heat
caused by system operation.
●
Never clean the system with chemical
solvents. Always use a clean and dry
cloth.

CD-R/RW discs burned as audio CDs
which have not been finalized are not

PC-created DISC compatibility

When burning a disc with a personal
computer, even discs compatible with the
formats described above may not oper-
ate properly due to software settings
within the burning application. In such
cases, contact the software developer.

DVD-R/RW discs are not supported by the device.
Compressed audio compatibility
This system plays audio files compressed
by MPEG-1 audio stream layer 3(MP3)
using 32, 44.1 and 48kHz fixed bit rates.
Incompatible files are not supported.
●
Variable bit rate files may operate, but the
play time information may not be properly
displayed.
●
Physical formats of CD: Model 1, Model 2
XA format 1.
●
This system only supports tracks with file
extension of ".MP3" or ".WMA".
●
This system does not support multises-
sion discs.
●
This system supports a maximum of 256
folders and maximum 512 files. Folders
and files which exceed this limit will not
be supported.
●
There are various bit rates which can be
encoded onto MP3 files. This system has
been designed to be compatible with vari-
ous bit rates. Audio which has been
encoded at 128kbps will sound similar to
CD audio sound quality. Although this
device supports low bit rate MP3 files, such
files may result in a low quality sound.
●
For stable operation, the use of files in
95kbps~192kbps bit rate range and 44.1kHz
sampling frequency is recommended.
●
For Mixed CDs (MP3+CD-DA), only
CD-DA files will be recognized and
supported.

sure to connect the device after turning on
the ignition. The USB device may be dam-
aged if connected before the ignition is

Only MP3 files with compression rates
between 8kbps~320kbps are supported.

Only WMA files with compression rates

Be cautious of static electricity when

USB device.

Encoded MP3 Players will not be recog-

BT AUDIO MODE
BT Audio mode is a feature which allows you
to stream music stored in your handset device
via a Bluetooth® wireless technology connec-
tion. Music saved in the handset device can
be played in the car through Bluetooth® wire-
less technology audio streaming. BT audio
can be played only when a handset device
has been connected. To play BT audio, pair a
handset device with the system. If Bluetooth®
wireless technology is disconnected while
playing BT audio, music play will be discontin-
ued. The audio streaming function may not be
supported in some handset devices. Only one
function can be used at a time between the
Bluetooth® wireless technology handsfree or
BT audio function. Playing music from the car
is not possible when there are no music files
stored in the handset device.

The use of such devices may be prohibited
or restricted in certain areas.
Your mobile device lets you communicate
through voice and data almost anywhere and
anytime. When driving a car, driving comes
first. If you choose to use your mobile device
while driving, remember the following:

Some laws do not allow the use of hand-
held devices while driving.
Always obey local laws and, even if permit-
ted, do not use your handheld device unless
it is safe to do so.

Get to know your mobile device and
features.
Knowledge of your mobile device and its fea-
tures will help you to use the features more
easily.

Place your mobile device in easy reach.
Be able to access your mobile device with-
out removing your eyes from the road.

Do not search for phone numbers while
driving.
Searching through your address book may
be distracting takes attention away from
driving safely.

Let the other person know you are driv-
ing; when necessary, suspend the call in
heavy traffic or inclement weather.
Rain, sleet, snow, ice or heavy traffic may

Pairing your handset
device to the handsfree
system
Before you can use the Bluetooth
®
wireless
technology handsfree system to make hands-
free calls, you must create a Bluetooth
®
wire-
less technology connection between your
handsfree system and handset device. A
Bluetooth
®
wireless technology connection is
made between your handsfree system and
handset device with a paired link.
After setting up a paired link, the handsfree
system will always remember your handset
device. Once the system is paired with the
device, your hand-free system can be set so
that it automatically connects to your handset
each time you start your vehicle.
Caution
●
For safety, make pairings between your
handsfree system and handset only while
the vehicle is parked.
Pairing a Bluetooth® wireless
technology enabled device for the
first time
1. Press the button on the steering
wheel or the PHONE key on the control
panel.
2. Press the Yes button.
3. Perform a device discovery from the
handset device. For details on device dis-
covery for your handset device, refer to
the handset device user's manual.

Before connecting the Bluetooth® wireless tech-
nology handsfree system with the handset
device, check to see that the handset device sup-
ports Bluetooth® wireless technology handsfree
and Bluetooth® wireless technology is turned on.
●
The process for initiating Bluetooth® wireless tech-
nology connections may vary depending on the
manufacturer. Use the handset device user's
manual as a reference guide.
●
The UVO system supports up to 5 pairings. After
5 handsets have already been paired, you must
delete a handset in order to pair a new handset.
●
Some phones (i.e., iPhone®, Android and
Blackberry phones) may offer an option to allow
acceptance of all future Bluetooth® connection
requests by default.
●

Deleting a paired handset device

Connecting a handset device
The system automatically connects the Bluetooth

wireless technology enabled device set at the
highest priority. As a result, in order to connect a
different phone, follow the following steps.
1. While in Phone mode, press the
Connections button.
2. Select the handset device you want to
connect.
3. Press the Connect button.

After initial pairing, your highest priority
handset device will automatically connect
with the handsfree system every time you
start your vehicle (if your handset device is
powered on and the relevant Bluetooth
®
pri-
ority settings are not changed).

Answering an incoming call
1. When there is an incoming call, an incom-
ing call window will be displayed on the
screen. Press the Accept button on the
screen or the key on the steering
wheel controller to answer the call.
2. The call will be connected.

You can also accept an incoming call using
your handset device if you wish to talk in pri-
vate mode.
Rejecting an incoming call
1. Press the Reject button on the screen or
the key on the steering wheel
controller.
2. The call will be rejected.
Call waiting
Call waiting is a feature which allows you to
place the current call on hold in order to
receive a second call. When you are in a
call, the incoming call window will be dis-
played to the sound of a beep to signal a
second incoming call.
1. If a second call is received while already
on a call, the incoming call window will be
displayed on the screen.
2. Press the Accept button or the key
on the steering wheel controller to take the
second incoming call. Press the Reject
button to reject the second incoming call.

Placing a call

will automatically download contacts upon
pairing.

SMS
1. Downloading SMS messages (from
mobile phone)
When a mobile phone is paired with the
system, unread messages will automatically
be downloaded to the system. While you will
not be able to check SMS messages through
the system due to legal regulations, the
system will read back messages for you for
added convenience. The SMS read back is
also possible when the vehicle is in motion.
2. Checking an SMS message
1. Press the key on the steering
wheel.
2. Say the command ‘Read SMS’.
3. The system will read back the new
message.

To listen to the message again, say ‘Read
again’. To listen to the next message, say
‘Next’. To send a reply, say ‘Reply’. To call
the sender, say ‘Call’.

When a mobile phone has been paired with
the system, new incoming messages will
automatically be notified through the
system.

When the notification window is displayed,
press the Yes button to check the new
incoming message.
3. Sending an SMS message (Custom
Messages)
The UVO system allows you to respond to
incoming messages through voice
commands.
1. After listening to a received message, say
‘Reply’.
2. The UVO system will provide information
pertaining to the 6 Custom Messages.

You can modify custom messages through
Phone Settings.

The SMS function may not be supported in

4. Editing Custom Messages

Switching the call
1. Switching the call between handsfree
and handset device
When you receive an incoming call, you
have the option of using the handsfree or
talking privately by using the handset
device.
2. Transferring the handsfree call to your
Handset device
1. After pressing the Accept button for an
incoming call, the following screen will be
displayed.
2. Press the Private button. The call will be
transferred to the handset device.

Accepting a call with the handset device will

This feature allows you turn the SMS feature
on or off within the system. When turned on,
the SMS feature will download unread
incoming messages to provide a read back

Mobile Phone Compatibility
Depending on the manufacturer, product and product specification, some mobile phones func-
tions may not be supported or may not operate to specification. Carefully read the cautions
listed below.

The occurrence of problems upon using mobile phones may be caused by the mobile phone
and not by the Audio unit.
●
Even mobile phones which support Bluetooth
®
wireless technology function may not operate
properly if the mobile phone connection has been locked. Release the connection lock and try
connecting the mobile phone with the system again.
●
The mobile phone battery icon and signal strength icon may not be properly displayed depend-
ing on the type of mobile phone.
●
Call waiting is supported only when connected mobile phones support this feature. The call
waiting pop-up may not be displayed in some mobile phones.
●
Audio streaming mode will operate only when a Bluetooth
®
wireless technology enabled phone
has been connected. Connecting or disconnecting a Bluetooth
®
wireless technology enabled
phone while audio streaming is operating will stop music play.
●
The audio streaming function may not be supported in some mobile phones.
●
The phonebook may take a prolonged period of time to download or may not operate in some
mobile phones.
●
The quality of Bluetooth
®
wireless technology handsfree calls may differ depending on the
mobile phone.
●
SMS read back function may not be supported in some handset devices.

Conditions for voice
command system
The voice control system includes a special
handsfree microphone mounted above the
driver's seat of your car which filters out
ambient noise and allows you to operate
system features through voice commands
while maintaining proper posture.
There are still a few points you should
observe to make sure that you are properly
understood.
●
Keep doors, windows and the sunroof
closed to avoid noise interference from
outside the car. Voice command
performance can be improved if the cabin
environment is quiet.
●
Press the voice recognition button and say
the voice command after the sound of the
beep.
●
Speak continuously and at normal volume,
avoiding unnatural emphasis and pauses
between words
●
Avoid causing background noise in the car
while you are speaking, and ask your
passengers not to speak while you are
giving voice commands.
●
As the handsfree microphone is positioned
to pick up the driver's voice, commands by
other occupants may be understood with
less accuracy, and passengers are advised
to use the handset when making calls.
The Kia Voice Recognition System may have
difficulty understanding some accents or
uncommon names. When using Voice
Recognition to place a call, speak in a
moderate tone, with clear pronunciation
To maximize the use of Voice Recognition,
consider these guidelines when storing
contacts:
●
Do not store single-name entries (e.g.,
“Bob”, “Mom”, etc.). Instead, always use full
names (including first and last names) for
these contacts
●
Do not use special characters (e.g., ‘@’, ‘-’,
‘*’, ‘&’, etc.)
●
Do not use abbreviations (i.e., use
“Lieutenant” instead of “Lt.”) or acronyms
(i.e., use “County Finance Department”
instead of “C. F. D.”. Be sure to say the
name exactly as it is entered in the
contacts list.

Speaker Adaptation
Creating a Voice Profile
The Voice Command feature in the UVO system
allows you to create speaker profiles in order to
help increase voice recognition accuracy.
You will be asked to read a number of
sentences to the system so that it can adapt to
your voice. Creating a profile takes
approximately several minutes and must be
done while the vehicle is parked. You can quit/
resume a reading session, but the system
cannot be interrupted while it is creating the
profile.
1. Press the Voice button.
2. Press the Default button next to the
Speaker Adaptation menu.
3. After reading the instructions, press the
Start
button.
4. Input the name of the profile you wish to
use and press the Done button.
5. Follow the training set as shown on the
screen.

Using UVO eServices and Cautions
Download the UVO eServices App and install it on your smart-
phone. The app can be downloaded from your smartphone's
app store.
Pair and connect your smartphone with the vehicle. For infor-
mation on connecting your Bluetooth device, refer to the smart-
phone user's manual and instructions on the Phone Help
screen on your radio. Up to 5 Bluetooth devices can be paired
with the vehicle.
Login and activate the UVO eServices App on your smart-
phone.
UVO eServices is fully compatible within some smartphones but
may not operate properly within incompatible smartphones.
To view the list of compatible smartphones, please visit
MyUVO.com.
Communication between the vehicle and smartphone app may
temporarily disconnect depending on the phone state.
If the feature is not operating properly, you may need to reset
the UVO eServices App or the smartphone to try again accord-
ing to the following steps.

Some services use the customer’s mobile phone data plan for
data communication. and thus the features will function in

less technology communication between the the vehicle and your
Smartphone.
At launch, the Apple iPhone® will be the only UVO eServices compatible
device. iPhone® is a registered trademark of Apple Inc. Apple iOS6
compatibility expected early 2013. Additional compatible devices
expected late 2013.

To use UVO eServices, the following conditions
must be met.
1. The UVO eServices smartphone app must be installed and you
must log in using your MyUVO account credentials.
2.
The smartphone must be connected via Bluetooth® wireless technology.
3.
Once this is complete, eServices must be activated (from the eServices
Settings screen)
.
Driving while drowsy or distracted is dangerous and
should be avoided. Drivers should remain attentive to
driving and exercise caution when using vehicle systems while driving.
The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are registered trademarks owned
by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by Kia is under
license. A Bluetooth® enabled cell phone is required to use Bluetooth®
wireless technology.
24-hour Roadside Assistance is a service plan provided by Kia Motors
America, Inc. Certain limitations apply. Coverage details are available in
the Kia Warranty and Consumer Information Manual. For access to
Enhanced Roadside Assistance, a connected mobile phone via
Bluetooth® within the cellular service coverage area is required.
Vehicle Diagnostics do not take the place of regularly scheduled
maintenance. Feature checks powertrain, chassis, and airbag
systems only. For factory-recommended maintenance schedule,
see the Maintenance Feature of UVO eServices or the Owner’s
Manual.
911 Connect activates after an airbag deployment. Feature

Installing the UVO eServices App
on your Smartphone
1. Download and install the UVO eServices
App on your smartphone.
The app can be downloaded from your
smartphone App Store.
2. Register your vehicle and account at
MyUVO.com.
Note: MyUVO.com is accessible from your
smartphone's browser.
3. Start the UVO eServices App on your
smartphone and log in.
Connecting Bluetooth® wireless
technology
1. Press the PHONE key on the UVO eSer-
vices system.
2. Press the Connections icon on the touch
screen.
3. Press the Add Device button to display
the Add Device screen.
4. Turn on the Bluetooth® wireless technol-
ogy feature on your smartphone’s
Bluetooth® settings screen.
5. Wait for “KIA MOTORS” to appear on your
smartphone’s Bluetooth® settings screen.
6. Select “KIA MOTORS” from your phone
and enter the passkey shown on the touch
screen. The default passkey is “0000”.

Vehicle Diagnostics
Conducting Vehicle Diagnostics
Vehicle Diagnostics is available only when the
ignition is turned on and the vehicle is parked.
It also requires that UVO eServices is acti-
vated, and the Phone is connected through
Bluetooth® wireless technology before starting
Vehicle Diagnostics.
1. Press the eServices key.
2. Press the Vehicle Diagnostics icon on the
touch screen.
3.
The Vehicle Diagnostics process will begin.
When a diagnostics check is in progress,
keep the vehicle in park with the ignition on.
To cancel diagnostics, press the
Cancel
button on the touch screen or any key.
4. Once vehicle diagnostics is complete, the
diagnostic results are displayed on the
screen.
5. If diagnostic issues are found, press the
Roadside Assist button to speak to a road-
side assistance operator or press the
Schedule Service button to schedule an
appointment with your preferred or nearby
Kia dealer.
6. When scheduling an appointment using
the Schedule Service button, pressing the
Preferred Dealer button will allow you to
request an appointment with your pre-
ferred Kia dealer and send your vehicle’s
diagnostics information.
Pressing the Nearest Dealer button will
allow you to request an appointment with
the nearest Kia dealer and your vehicle’s
diagnostics information.

7. Even if diagnostic issues are not found
after Vehicle Diagnostics, it is recom-
mended that you send the diagnostic
results to your MyUVO account.
Press the Send Data button to send the
diagnostics results to your MyUVO
account.
Scheduled Diagnostics
If you have set up Scheduled Diagnostics on
your UVO eServices app, a vehicle diagnos-
tics check will automatically start on the day
you selected.
1. On the day of the Scheduled Diagnostics,
the following window will be displayed.
2. Press the Yes button on the touch
screen to proceed with a diagnostics check.
Conducting Auto Diagnostics
If a critical diagnostics issue with your vehi-
cle’s powertrain is detected, you will be noti-
fied on your vehicle’s touch screen.

Parking Minder
Sending Parking Location
The location where your vehicle is currently
parked can be sent to your smartphone.
The Parking Minder feature is only available
when the ignition is turned on and the vehicle
is parked.
Ensure that the UVO eServices system is acti-
vated and the Phone is connected via
Bluetooth® wireless technology with the UVO
eServices app running on your smartphone
before using this feature.
1. After parking the vehicle, press the
eServices key.
2. Press the Parking Minder icon on the touch
screen to send the vehicle’s location to
your smartphone.
3. Once the parking location has been sent,
you can view your vehicle’s location from
the UVO eServices app on your
smartphone.

Crash Notification Assist
If an airbag deploys, your vehicle can auto-
matically initiate a call to 9-1-1 and will read
your vehicle's location ifnormation to the 9-1-1
Operator.
The Crash Notification Assist feature is avail-
able only when the mobile phone is connected
via Bluetooth® wireless technology. By default,
this feature is turned off. To turn it on, you
must turn it on in the eServices Settings
menu. By enabling this feature, you are agree-
ing the Crash Notification Assist terms of use.
An icon is displayed at the top of the touch
screen as shown below when Crash
Notification Assist is enabled and a mobile
phone is connected via Bluetooth® wireless
technology.

Making a 9-1-1 Call
1. If an airbag deploys due to an accident,
the following screen is displayed and a call
is automatically placed to 9-1-1 after 10
seconds.
2. Once a call is connected with a 9-1-1
Operator, it is possible to request emer-
gency services to be dispatched to your
location.
3. The 9-1-1 Operator may request informa-
tion on the current location of your vehicle.
When the 9-1-1 Operator requests your
vehicle location, the following icon is dis-
played on the screen and the vehicle loca-
tion is automatically sent to the 9-1-1
Operator.
4. If the 9-1-1 Operator attempts to call the
driver again, the following icon is dis-
played and allows the driver to speak with
the 9-1-1 Operator.

exterior camera integrated to the rear of the
vehicle that sends video to the UVO
system.

Regardless of the mode you are in, placing
the transmission in Reverse, or "R", will
automatically display the rear view camera
screen.

Before thinking the product has malfunctioned
1. Errors which occur during the operation or installation of the device may be mistaken as a malfunction of the actual device.
2. If you are having problems with the device, try the suggestions listed below.

The UVO system allows you to copy
songs from an MP3 CD into JUKEBOX.
1. Press the Copy button.

Once copying is complete, you can listen
to stored music in JUKEBOX mode.
Copying songs from list
Copying MP3 songs from lists allows you to
simultaneously select several songs to copy
into JUKEBOX.
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Press the Now Playing button.
3. Press the Edit button.
4. Select the songs you wish to copy.
When selected, a will be

select all songs in the list, press

When listening to USB music songs,

1. Press the Album art icon.

Copying song into JUKEBOX
1. Copying the current song
The UVO system allows you to copy
songs from your USB device into
JUKEBOX.
1. Press the Copy button.

Once copying is complete, you can
listen to copied music in JUKEBOX
mode.

Copying USB music songs from lists
allows you to simultaneously select
several songs to copy into JUKEBOX.
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Press the Now Playing button.
3. Press the Edit button.
4. Select the songs you wish to copy.
When selected, a will be
displayed next to the song. To
select all songs in the list, press
the Select All button.
5. After selecting the desired songs,
press the Copy button.
6. Once copying is complete, you can
listen to copied music in JUKEBOX
mode.

The UVO system offers you the
convenience of allowing you to copy
songs from your MP3 CD or USB to
the Jukebox mode within the system.

Listening to JUKEBOX
1. Press the MEDIA key on the
control panel to turn to JUKEBOX

2. The system will automatically
restart the most recently played

Adding Favorites
The Favorites feature allows you to
create a Favorites list of songs.
1. While listening to JUKEBOX, press
the button.
2. The heart icon will be displayed on
the screen to signify that the song
has been saved in Favorites.
3. To delete a song from Favorites,
press the button.

1. While playing JUKEBOX, press the
Menu button.
2. In the JUKEBOX Menu screen,
press the Favorites button.
3. Press the name of the song from
the list. The song will begin

Answering an incoming call
Connecting a handset device
The system automatically connects the
BluetoothⓇ wireless technology enabled
device set at the highest priority. As a
result, in order to connect a different
phone, follow the following steps.
1. While in Phone mode, press the
Connections button.
2. Select the handset device you
want to connect.
3. Press the Connect button.
Answering an incoming call
1. When there is an incoming call, an
incoming call window will be
displayed on the screen. Press the
Accept button on the screen or
the key on the steering
wheel controller to answer the call.
2. The call will be connected.
Rejecting an incoming call
1. Press the Reject button on the
screen or the key on the
steering wheel controller.

SMS
SMS
1. Downloading SMS messages
(from mobile phone)
When an SMS enabled mobile
phone is paired with the system,
unread messages will automatically
be downloaded to the system. While
you will not be able to check SMS
messages through the system due
to legal regulations, the system will
read back messages for you for
added convenience. The SMS read
back is also possible when the
vehicle is in motion.
2. Checking an SMS message
1. Press the key on the
steering wheel.
2. Say the command 'Read SMS'.
3. The system will read back the
new message.
Note
To listen to the message again, say
‘Read again’. To listen to the next
message, say ‘Next’. To send a
reply, say ‘Reply’. To call the sender,
say ‘Call’.
When an SMS enabled mobile
phone is paired, new incoming
messages will automatically be
notified through the system.
When the notification window is
displayed, press the Yes button to
check the new incoming message.
3. Sending an SMS message
(Custom Messages)
The UVO system allows you to
respond to incoming messages
through voice commands.
1. After listening to a received
message, say ‘Reply’.
2. The UVO system will provide
information pertaining to the 6

3. Select the desired message to
send a response.

You can modify custom messages
through Phone Settings.
The SMS function may not be
supported in some handset devices.

Using Voice Command
1. Press the key on the steering
wheel controller.
A display will
be shown at the top of the screen
followed by a “Please say a
command after the beep” system
comment.
2. Once the icon
becomes displayed, say the
desired voice command (ex:
“What’s Playing”)
Note
Press the key shortly to
interrupt the system command
feedback and enter a voice
command.
To terminate the voice control
system, either say “Exit” or press the
key for over 0.8 second.
The system voice comment “Please
say a command after the beep” will
not be stated when the Command
Feedback option is turned off.
