If this is the case, the reso-nant circuit off-tunes its frequency to reachagain the (optimum) resonance frequency. However, this is only possible within a cer-tain range. If too much metal is in the envi-ronment, the read/write head cannot re-tuneor the surrounding metal takes too much en-ergy from the field and due to the reducedrange the communication between the read/write head and the data carrier is cut off (theorange range-restricted-LED lights up). If theLED is off, this does not mean conversely, that no reduction in range occurs. The lit LEDis rather an indication of too much metal inthe environment and a greatly reduced range(about 50% less).■Rectangular, 370x350 mm, height 20mm■Active face on top■Plastic, PBT-GF30-VO■Powered and operated only via BL identinterface module■Male M12 x 1, only for use with BL identextension cableConnectors …/S2503Connectors …/S2500Connectors …/S2501Functional principleThe HF read/write heads operating at a fre-quency of 13.56 MHz form a transmissionzone the size of which (0…500 mm) varies, depending on the combination of read/writehead and data carrier. The read/write distances mentioned here on-ly represent standard values measured underlaboratory conditions. The read/write distances of the data carriersfor mounting in metal TW-R**-M(MF) were de-termined in metal.Attainable distances may vary by up to 30 %due to component tolerances, mounting con-ditions, ambient conditions and material quali-ties (especially when mounted in metal)Testing of the application under real operat-ing conditions is therefore essential, especial-ly with read/write on-the-fly!
