Page 3 power Tool Use and care SAFETy 1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. 2. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. SETUp 3. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Woodburner Safety Warnings OpERATION 1. When working with plastics, varnish, or similar materials, gases develop that are easily flammable and can lead to explosions. Be prepared for flames to develop and keep suitable fire extinguishing means at hand. 6. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and NIOSH-approved respirator during use. 2. The tip becomes very hot. Do not lay the Woodburner on flammable surfaces when operating the Woodburner or immediately after turning the Woodburner off. Set the Woodburner on a flat, level surface so that the tip is directed upwards and away from the supporting surface. 8. Work on fire-proof surfaces only. MAINTENANcE 3. Do not use the Woodburner near flammable materials. 4. Do not touch the tube of the heating element or the tip when they are hot. Page 5 Grounding SAFETy TO pREVENT ELEcTRIc SHOcK AND DEATH FROM INcORREcT GROUNDING WIRE cONNEcTION: check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool. Never remove the grounding prong from the plug. Do not use the tool if the power cord or plug is damaged. If damaged, have it repaired by a service facility before use. If the plug will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Tool Set Up TO pREVENT SERIOUS INJURy FROM AccIDENTAL OpERATION: Make sure that the Trigger is in the off-position and unplug the tool from its electrical outlet before adjusting tool or installing accessories. When working with leather craft, move tip more quickly to prevent overburning of leather. 8. Clean, then store the tool indoors out of children’s reach.
