Quick Start Guide
1.
Setup process
‐
Download the “Harman Telematics” app.
2.
Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play, search and download the “Harman
Telematics” app.
‐
Launch the app and register your Harman account.
‐
Follow the guidance in the app to check your vehicle’s compatibility. You will need to know
the make, model, and year.
‐
Scan the QR code to register the device. This is printed on the device and IMEI number on
the box.
‐
Plug the device in the vehicle OBD II port and start the vehicle
The OBD II port in the vehicle is usually underneath the dashboard on the driver’s
side If you cannot find it go to www.harman.com/HarmanTelematics and select
your vehicle to display the OBD II location.
The device can take 2‐3 minutes for activation and when the network connection
has been successful the device’s LED will turn solid green
The spark app will also let you know when the device has been successfully
activated.
If the device has not activated within 5 minutes, please go for a 15‐minute drive to
enable setup to complete.
Harman OBD Telematics Device
The OBD II Telematics device which plugs into the OBD II port of the vehicle to enable in‐Car Wi‐Fi,
Vehicle Diagnostics, and Emergency Crash Assistance.
3G/LTE Network Connectivity
WiFi
Device is not in the network coverage area – LED is red blinking.
Average connection – Blue solid
Good connection – Green solid.
WiFi disable, the LED will be off
WiFi on the LED will be blue blinking
WiFi on device connect to spark WiFi hotspot, the LED will be slow blue blinking.

Key Features
Emergency Crash Assistance
Receive help if you are involved in a crash. Add emergency contacts to your app and should you be
involved in an accident they will be notified unless you confirm in the app that you are OK. For serious
accidents, the automated 911 service is launched and will call you to check if you need 911 assistance,
if you are unable to answer it will check with your, up to 5, emergency contacts who are able to contact
911 on your behalf.
In‐Car Wi‐Fi
Turns your vehicle into a powerful Wi‐Fi hotspot. Connect up to 5 devices simultaneously.
Wi‐Fi improves the in‐vehicle experience with media streaming or live gaming.
You can enable and disable the Wi‐Fi on the home screen of the app, with Wi‐Fi turning off
automatically 5 minutes after the ignition is turned off.
A suitable AT&T subscription must be in place for In‐Car Wi‐Fi to be enabled.
Geofences
Set boundaries on a map and receive real‐time updates on vehicle location.
Be alerted when a loved one safely reaches their destination.

This device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions ;(1)
this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference
received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits, pursuant to Part
15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and
can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there
is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this
equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can
be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to
correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
‐ Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
‐ Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver.
‐ Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which
the receiver is connected.
‐ Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
This device must be installed so that a separation distance of at least 5mm is maintained between the
user and the device.
