Your pony can tell when you’re sitting on her to
have a “ride”! When you sit on your pony, she will
move her head up and down, blink her eyes and
twitch her ears while making soft sounds.
Wait for your pony to stop moving before you take
her into “riding mode.”
When sitting on your pony, tap her hindquarters
with your hand and she’ll go into “riding mode”.
She will make walking sounds and also move her
eyes, ears and head. After a few seconds, she’ll
stop. Just tap her hindquarters to get her
going again!

1. Always follow the instructions carefully. Use only batteries specified and be sure to insert
item correctly by matching the + and – polarity markings.
2. Do not mix old batteries and new batteries or standard (carbon-zinc) with alkaline batteries.
3. Remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.
4. Remove batteries if product is not to be played with for a long time.
5. Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
6. Should this product cause, or be affected by, local electrical interference, move it away
from other electrical equipment. Reset (switching off and back on again or removing and re-
inserting batteries) if necessary.
7. RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES: Do not mix these with any other types of batteries. Always
remove from the product before recharging. Recharge batteries under adult supervision.
DO NOT RECHARGE OTHER TYPES OF BATTERIES.
TO INSERT BATTERIES
Use a Phillips/cross head screwdriver (not included)
to loosen screw in battery compartment (screw
remains attached). Slide compartment toward the
rear of the pony, then remove. Insert 6 x 1.5V “D”
or LR20 size alkaline batteries. Push compartment
back in, then slide forward until it’s in place;
tighten screw.
Note: The toy uses
battery power
whenever switch is
in the “ON” position.
To conserve batteries,
move switch to “OFF”
position when you’re
not playing with
your pony.
OFF/ON
Your pony will move her head and twitch her
ear toward the loudest sound she hears. Call her
name when you are standing at her side, and
she will move her head/neck in your direction! (If
there is a lot of background noise, your pony may
not respond when you call its name.)
If the room suddenly becomes dark, your pony
will get sleepy and go to sleep.
If it is dark in the room and the lights come on
suddenly while your pony is asleep, she’ll lift her
head and open her eyes.
If your pony is left alone for a while, she will go
into “hangout” mode. She will move her head a
little, blinking and twitching her ears. She will
whinny and neigh a bit to get your attention!
After a few minutes in hangout mode, pony
will go into “power save” mode. In this mode,
pony will rest with her eyes open if the room is
light, and will go to sleep if the room is dark (or
starts to darken).
TAKING CARE OF YOUR PONY
When you “feed” your pony her carrot, she will
open her mouth and start to “eat”. If you “feed”
her the carrot more than 6 times in a row, she will
shake her head because she feels full.
If you lose her carrot, you can put other pretend
food in her mouth and she will “eat”. Don’t put
your ngers in her mouth, and never give real
food to your pony.
FEEDING YOUR PONY
25
To activate, slide OFF/ON switch to the “ON”
position, and your pony will wake up and be
ready to play with you!
BUTTERSCOTCH responds when you pet her!
A. When you pet your pony on her neck/shoulder,
or start to groom her mane, she will move her
head and neck toward you, and her head will
tilt from side to side (she really likes it when
you pet her!).
B. When you pet her on her left/right
hindquarters, she will lift her head and her
left/right ear will twitch. She may even whinny
or snort!
Pet her again on the same side and she will tilt
her head to that side, then turn her neck further
in that direction.
Keep petting her on that side and she’ll continue
to move her head back and forth in that
direction.
C. When you pet your pony’s muzzle, she will lift
her neck/head and sniff.
