You can use HiSuite to manage your contacts, messages, photos, and videos as well as install, update, and uninstall apps. This guide outlines how to make the best of the features that HiSuite has to offer. 2 Connecting your phone to HiSuite on a computer Note: You can skip this step if your phone comes with the HiSuite app. 2.1 Enabling USB debugging If you are unable to connect your phone to a computer, try enabling USB debugging. You will need to access the developer options in order to enable USB debugging: On the home screen, go to Settings > About phone > Build number and then touch the version number repeatedly until you see You are now a developer! Figure 2-1 Accessing the developer options Return to the main settings menu. You will now see Developer options listed in the menu. The Allow connection in HDB mode screen will be displayed on your phone. Touch OK. HiSuite will be automatically installed on your phone. Introduction to HiSuite home page On the home page, you can: View Android version and Software version information. Click Update to update the EMUI on your phone. Click Refresh to display your phone's current screen on your computer. Click Screenshot to capture your phone's current screen. Figure 3-1 HiSuite home page 3.2 Backing up your data using HiSuite You can use HiSuite to back up all your important data on your old phone and transfer it to your new phone. You can also back up your data before formatting your phone memory. The Backup folder is saved to the C drive by default. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the backup. Figure 3-3 HiSuite backup options 3.3 Restoring data from a backup You can use the Restore feature within HiSuite to restore the data from your backup files. Follow the onscreen instructions to restore the selected data. Figure 3-5 HiSuite restore options 3.4 Managing contacts and messages On the home page, click Contacts and go to the Contacts tab. You can create, delete, export, or refresh messages. Figure 3-7 Managing messages in HiSuite 3.5 Managing photos and videos On the home page, click Gallery and go to the Pictures tab.
