Not recom-mended for use with the Hunter Original®.Before Installing the Control:1. Use the pull-chain switch to set the fan speed to the HIGH positionbefore installation. Do not use the pull-chain to change the fan speedafter installation, as damage to your ceiling fan or control may result.The speed of the fan should only be changed by the control.2. Set the ceiling fan light kit to the ON position before installation. Thelight level should only be changed by the control.Receiver Installation:1. Disconnect power to the ceiling fan and light kit at the main electricpanel. Remove fuse or move circuit breaker to the OFF position.  Turnoff wall switch.2. IMPORTANT! Before installing this control, change the factory defaultjumper switch settings to your own unique code. Refer to Figure 1.Using small pliers or tweezers, pull out one or more of the three jumperswtiches by  clamping  on  the  small  metal  strip.  Place  the  jumperswitches in the desired spots.  Be sure the jumper switch positions ofthe transmitter and receiver match, or the ceiling fan will not func-tion.  Select different combinations of jumper switches to prevent mis-operation due to other remote control fans, garage door openers, etc.3. Install the ceiling fan according to its instructions, up to the point ofmaking the electrical connections.4. Use the 2 large wire nuts supplied to connect the receiver and housewiring, then use the 3 small wire nuts supplied to connect the receiverand ceiling fan wiring. Refer to the Wiring Diagram in Figure 2.Caution: Risk of Electrical Shock!All wiring must be performed in accordance with national and local electri-cal codes.  If you are unfamiliar with the wiring  codes, you should use aqualified electrician.To  avoid  overheating  and  possible  damage  to  other  equipment,  do  notinstall to control a receptacle, fluorescent light fixture, motor operated ap-pliance, or transformer-supplied appliance. Install receiver as shown in Figure 3.  Line up slots on the receiver withthe ceiling plate.  Be sure to push wire connections from the ceilingback up through the hole in the ceiling pate.  Wires attaching fromthe ceiling plate to the fan should be placed inside the canopy underthe receiver.  Once the receiver is installed, continue with the appro-priate instructions from the fan installation manual to finish installingthe fan.

If the fan does notstart, or is turning too slow, turn off the power at the wall switch.  Pullthe fan’s pull chain to change speed.  Reapply power and try Highspeed again.  Repeat this procedure until you have confirmed that thefan’s pull chain is set to HIGH speed.Operation:1. Turn ON wall switch, the light will turn ON at maximum brightness.2. Light Operation:• Press and quickly release the light button on the hand held re-mote to turn the light OFF or ON. (Light will come ON at maxi-mum brightness.)• Press and hold the light button for more than 1 second to turnthe light ON and decrease from maximum brightness to OFF.• Release the light button when the desired light level is reached.• Continue to  hold  the light button  to  repeat the  cycle.  (Maxi-mum–light level decrease–OFF)• While the light is ON, holding the light button will decrease thelight brightness.• Turning the light OFF resets the dimming function. The next pressof the light button will start at maximum brightness.3. Fan Operation:• Press the High, Medium, or Low speed buttons to turn the ceil-ing fan ON at the desired speed.• Press the fan OFF key to turn the ceiling fan OFF.For best fan operation: Allow the ceiling fan motor to start on High,then select the desired speed.4. Manual Light Switch Operation:To turn the lights ON without the transmitter, turn OFF the wall switchfor 5 seconds, then turn the wall switch back ON. The light will turnON at maximum brightness, and the fan will be OFF.For everyday operation, leave the wall switch ON. However, if the con-trol will not be used for an extended period of time (5 days or more),turn the wall switch OFF.Testing the Control1. When the installation is  complete, restore power at  main electricalpanel.  Then, turn on the wall switch.  The light kit should turn ON.  Ifthe light remains OFF, turn off the power at the wall switch.  Pull thelight kit’s pull chain to turn the light ON.  Turn the wall switch backON.Warning!• Do not use the pull chain to operate the light.  Pulling the chain whilepower is applied can damage the receiver.  It is recommended to shortenthe pull chain(s) to prevent accidental use.• Do not use the pull chain switch to change speeds.
