3.2. Securityofyourterminal
Uponreceiptofyourterminalyoushouldcheckforsignsoftamperingoftheequipment.It
isstronglyadvisedthatthesechecksareperformedregularlyafterreceipt.Youshould
check,forexample:thatthereisnoevidenceofunusualwiresthathavebeenconnectedto
anyportsonyourterminalorassociatedequipment,oranyotherpartofyourterminal.
Suchcheckswouldprovidewarningofanyunauthorisedmodificationstoyourterminal,
andothersuspiciousbehaviourofindividualsthathaveaccesstoyourterminal.

CompatibilityActof1988(HACAct)torequiredigitalwirelessphonesbecompatiblewith
hearing‐aids.TheintentoftheHACActistoensurereasonableaccessto
telecommunicationsservicesforpersonswithhearingdisabilities.
Whilesomewirelessphonesareusednearsomehearingdevices(hearingaidsandcochlear
implants),usersmaydetectabuzzing,humming,orwhiningnoise.Somehearingdevices
aremoreimmunethanotherstothisinterferencenoise,andphonesalsovaryinthe
amountofinterferencetheygenerate.
Thewirelesstelephoneindustryhasdevelopedaratingsystemforwirelessphones,to
assisthearingdeviceusersfindphonesthatmaybecompatiblewiththeirhearingdevices.
Notallphoneshavebeenrated.Phonesthatareratedhavetheratingontheirboxora
labellocatedonthebox.
Theratingsarenotguarantees.Resultswillvarydependingontheuser’shearingdevice
andhearingloss.Ifyourhearingdevicehappenstobevulnerabletointerference,youmay
notbeabletousearatedphonesuccessfully.Tryingoutthephonewithyourhearing
deviceisthebestwaytoevaluateitforyourpersonalneeds.

CAUTION:Beforetostart,makesureyouhaveremovedtheprotectivefilmbattery.
4.1. Battery
Toaccessthebatteryfollowtheinstructionsbelow:
• Openthebatterycompartmentusingtheslideleversinthedirectionshown1 and
followtheprocedureillustratedbyarrowsonillustration.
• Positionthebatterypack,makingsurethebatterycontactsare
alignedwiththecontactsinthecompartment,asshowninthe
followingillustration.
• Placethebatterypackintothebatterybayandpressthebattery
securelyintothecompartment.
• ClosethedevicebyfittingbacktheSPM(seesection4.2)
WARNING!Thereisariskoffireandburnsifthebatterypackis
handledimproperly.
DONOTdisassembles,crush,puncture,shortexternalcontacts,ordisposethebatterypack
infireorwater.DONOTheatabove45°C(113°F).

screws(size:M1.6xL3deliveredwiththeunit)asindicatedinthepicture.
• Thescrewspreventtooeasyaccesstothebattery,SIMandSAMs.Atoolhastobe
usedtoremovetheSPMinthatcase.

WhenintroducingaSAMinitsslot,besuretoputthecutcornerasindicatedonmarking.
• Lifttheprotectivecaps1andintroducethemoduleinitsslottotheenduntilyouhear
aclick.

ofadhesivepreviouslypastedonbothsidesof
theSAMasshownherebelow

ThePDAsidehastwoslotsforSIMcardsandtwoslotsforSAMcards.Theyareplaced
insidethebatterycompartment,intherearoftheterminal(seeproceduretoopening4.1).
• Liftthebattery,asshowninthefollowingillustration.

moduleinitsslot.Makesureyouputthecutcorneras
indicatedonmarking.
