Introduction Thank you for choosing a payment terminal Ingenico. We recommend you to read carefully this installation guide: It gives you the necessary information about safety precautions, unpacking, installation, and maintenance of your terminal accessory. WARRANTY / SECURITY To benefit from the guarantee-related product, and to respect the security, we ask you to use only accessories delivered in box with the product, entrusting maintenance operations only to an authorized person. The IMP300-MBCS (296148325) and IMP300-MBCW (296148333, Bluetooth Model) accessories have been designed for iSMP Companion product do not attempt to use for any other use. It must be re-used whenever the accessory is shipped. The following items are included in the IMP300 box : IMP300-MBPS (296148325) or IMP300-MBCW (296148333) POWER SUPPLY This User guide WARNING The power supply unit provided with your equipment is specially designed for Ingenico terminals. Do not use any other power supply. The use of a power supply with apparently similar voltage/current characteristics may damage your terminal. Approvals and markings Mandatory conformity marking for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). It states that the product is assessed before being placed on the market and meets EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements Indicates that the product has been certified to applicable standards including standards written or administered by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), CSA Group (CSA), NSF International (NSF), and other North American and global organizations Indicates that the product meet both American and Canadian standards for safety requirements Indicates that the product has been evaluated, tested and certified for electrical safety by an independent accredited third-party against German and European standards Indicates that the EIP contains toxic and hazardous substances or elements over the defined maximum concentration values defined above. Security IMP300-MBPS and IMP300-MBCW (Bluetooth model) are specially designed for iSMP Companion terminals charging. Do not short-circuit the cradle contacts. Do not attempt to open the cradle container or PSU unit. Do not attempt to replace the PSU unit by any other type even the characteristics are similar. In case of abnormal behaviour disconnect the main power cord from the wall outlet. The main plug of the power cord is the disconnecting device of the product Electrical power outlet: The electrical outlet must meet the following criteria: Must be installed near the equipment and easily accessible; Appliance plug must be connected to a grounded outlet , which connects to the plug earth The protection of the installation must be set to 20 A in US and Canada, 13 A in the UK and 16 A in other countries. Functional description The IMP300 is a charger doc accessory for iSMP terminal. Charging pads used with charging dock 4.2. Positioning the cradle Install the cradle on a flat surface, with an easy access to an electrical outlet if needed. Place the cradle away from any heat source and protected from dust, vibrations and electromagnetic radiations (away from video terminals, PC, anti-shoplifting barriers, ...). 4.3. PSU connection CAUTION : Plug first the PSU unit to cradle before connecting the PSU to main power source. Charging iSMP Companion Charging start as soon as iSMP Companion is inserted into the cradle Charging operation can be monitored by each side : - Terminal A battery indicator is provided on the iSMP screen, indicating the charge of the module. - Charging cradle through LED indicators LED indicators: - Orange : in charge - Green: charged ADVICE Before using iSMP Companion for the first time, you need to charge it for about 4 hours After that, you can charge the iSMP 3 hours to recharge the battery to full capacity IMP300-MBCS / IMP300-MBCW 900012498 R11 000 01/1307 11/14 Copyright © 2013 Ingenico All rights reserved 5. Maintenance CAUTION : Before making any operations of maintenance in the terminal, make sure that power supply is disconnected. 5.1. Cleaning of the cradle First of all, unplug all the wires from the terminal. Good rules for proper cleaning of the terminal are: Use a soft cloth that is very slightly soaked with soapy water to clean the outside of the cradle. Do not clean the electrical connections. Do not use in any case, solvents, detergents or abrasive products: Those materials might damage the plastic or electrical contacts. Avoid exposing the cradle to the direct rays of the sun. 5.2. Transport and storage Use the original packaging for any transport or storage of the product. 5.3. Environment (WEEE, Batteries and Packaging) This product is labeled in accordance with European Directives 2002/96/EC concerning Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and 2006/66/EC concerning Batteries and Accumulators. Those provisions are requiring producers and manufacturers to become liable for take-back, treatment and recycling upon end of life of equipment and batteries. The associated symbol means that WEEE and waste batteries must not be thrown away but collected separately and recycled. Ingenico ensures that efficient collection and recycling schemes are set-up for WEEE and batteries according to the local regulation of your country. Please contact your retailers for more detailed information about the compliance solution in place for disposing of your old product and used batteries.
