Art Guard MAP Sensor
Magnetic Asset Protection
Overview
AG MAP sensors, using Enhanced Magnetic Technology, are able to detect small Neodymium
(rare earth) magnets at extended distances. When properly installed, neither the sensor nor
the magnetic tag (or the object it’s on) can be moved without alarm. MAP utilizes a wireless
transmitter (door/window) compatible with DSC 433 MHz control panels. Neodymium
magnets are shipped separately. Visit our website for more information www.artguard.net
Install or Replace BatteriesThe model .013.1 AG MAP sensor uses only Panasonic or Maxell
Lithium Battery CR2450and is shipped to save battery life. To ease opening run your
thumbnail around the space between the top and the bottom of the case. Use a coin inserted
into the notch on the side of the MAP case to twist and open (fig.1). Insert two lithium batteries
plus (+) side up (fig.2).
Note: the red LED should light when the batteries are installed. Use the cupping of your
hands to view the light through the closed case. It lights to indicate transmission only.
Remove batteries when not in use.
fig. 1
Use care when closing the case. The case must be fully close to activate the tamper switch.
Warning! Battery may explode if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, or dispose of in fire.
Mount MAP Sensor and Magnet
The sensor may be discreetly mounted horizontally, on a wall behind artwork, or mounted
vertically under shelving, or similar installation surfaces, either with double sided tape.
It may be placed in or under any as- set that will hide it from view. Magnets (Mtags) can
then be discreetly placed in, or taped on any valuable asset that the sensor is to secure.
See website for further instructions www.artguard.net
Caution: Magnetic tags should be kept at a distance from watches, credit cards, heart
monitors, etc. they are powerful sources of magnetism and may disable magnetically
sensitive products.
