IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using Conference Phone equipment, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including
the following:
1. Read and understand all instructions.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
3. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid
cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
4. This product should not be used while you are in a bathtub, shower or pool.
Immersion of the product in water could cause an electrical shock.
5. Slots and openings in the cabinet back or bottom are provided for ventilation, to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or
covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on
the bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should not be
placed in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
6. This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply
to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
7. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product
where the cord will be walked on.
8. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in the
risk of fire or electric shock.
9. Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as
they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could
result in a risk of fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the
product.
10. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product, but
take it to a qualified service facility if service is required. Opening or
removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks.
Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock when the telephone
equipment is subsequently used.
11. Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures such as areas near a
hot radiator or stove or in a hot car.
12. Do not place lighted candles, cigarettes, cigars, etc., on the telephone.
13. Never touch the un-insulated telephone wires or terminals unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
14. During a lightning storm, do not or modify telephone wiring.
15. Never install telephone jack in wet locations unless the jack is specifically
designed for wet locations.
16. Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines to prevent
electrical shock and/or fire.
17. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified
service personnel under the following conditions:
A. When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
B. If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
C. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating
instructions.
D. If the product’s cabinet has been damaged.
E. If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance.
18. Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical
storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.
19. Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
20. Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand or table. The product
may fall, causing serious damage to the product.
21. Use only the power cord and batteries indicated in this manual. Do not
dispose of batteries in a fire. They may explode.
22. For servicing or replacement, you can purchase a suitable headset through
service center or re-tailer shop.
CAUTION
You must use a Class 2 power source that
supplies 9V DC and delivers at least 500mA.
Its plug must fit the phone’s Power 9VDC jack. The supplied
adapter meets these specifications. Using an adapter that
does not meet these specifications could damage the phone
or the adapter.
Always connect the AC adapter to the phone before you
connect it to the AC outlet. When you move the phone,
unplug the adapter from the AC outlet before you disconnect
from the phone.

SAFETY AND CARE
Observe the following safety precautions and warnings when setting up and
using this product.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• LCD panel – The LCD panel is made of glass, and may break if the unit is
dropped. Place the unit securely on a stable surface.
• Heat sources – Keep the product away from heat sources, such as radiators, stoves, heaters, and other heat-generating products.
• Water and moisture – Do not use the product in or near water or in high
moisture areas, such as a bathroom.
CARING FOR YOUR PRODUCT
• Do not clean any part of your phone with benzene, thinner or other solvent
chemicals. It may cause permanent damage and void all manufacturer’s
warranties. When necessary, clean it with a damp cloth.
• Keep your phone away from hot, humid conditions or strong sunlight.
• Never immerse the unit in water or use your phone outdoors, or handle it with
wet hands.
• Do not subject the base unit to extreme force, shock, or fluctuations in humidity.
• Do not tamper with the internal components or disassemble the unit.
• Do not mix new and old batteries or batteries of different types. Replace with
new batteries.
• The product is made with highest standards. If you need a service for your
phone, call your supplier or Krown authorized dealers.
CAUTION
• Consult your local solid waste collection or disposal organization for recycling
or proper disposal batteries.
• Do not place an open flame near by the phone.
• Disconnect the base unit from the phone line and the AC outlet when there is a
storm in your area.
• Avoid installing the base unit near a sink, bath or shower, orawhere it could get
wet. It can cause serious injuryor electric shock.
• If the base unit falls into water, unplug the base from the outlet and the tele
phone line; then pull it out by the unplugged cables.
• Use the battery pack supplied with the handset. Do not use non-rechargeable
batteries, it may cause explosion or leak and void all manufacturer warranties.
• Use only the power source marked on the adapter. Contact your local dealer to
obtain a correct adaptor for your area. Do not place any object on the power
cord.
• Never use this unit near a gas leak area. It can cause an explosion.
• Occasional loss of synchronization between the handset and base unit is
normal if there is significant interference from the surrounding environment.
• Disconnect the telephone line from the wall-outlet before replacing battery.

SELECTING THE LOCATION
Select a location in a place where:
• Nearby a telephone jack
• Nearby a electric outlet
• Ring indicator is easily visible
Your telephone base will connect direct to a telephone line jack. If your telephone
wiring did not come with a standard rectangle wall mount plate, contact local
telephone company to install for you.
You can mount your telephone on a wall plate, directly on a wall or place it on a
shelf, desk, or table.

INSTALLING HANDSET BATTERIES
The handset uses a rechargeable 600mAh, 3.6V, Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) battery
pack.
To install the handset batteries:
1. Slide the battery compartment
cover off.
2. Insert the battery pack into the
compartment. Plug the battery
connector into the socket.
3. Replace the battery cover.
CHARGING HANDSET
Place the handset in the handset cradle of the base unit. Allow the handset to
charge up to 14 hours or overnight before use.
LOW BATTERY WARNING
When the battery is low, the handset
will send a low-battery tone and
“LOW BATTERY” message on the
display. Replace the handset to the
base and let it charge. Practice to
discharge the battery pack once a
month.
INITIALIZATION AND STANDY MODE
After installing battery (handset) and plug A/C adaptor (base unit), the phone goes
directly to standby mode. Manufacturer default settings will be applied. The display
shows handset name or time. The charge/In Use LED, and ring indicator will flash
once.

HANDSET RECEPTION
The phone reception range is up to 300feet (~100m) open field or 150 feet (~50m)
in house. An out-of-range tone is generated and an “OUT OF RANGE” message is
displayed on the LCD if the handset is nearly out of range.The base unit automatically goes on-hook.
NOTE: Due to radio interference, you may experience with loss of synchronization
between the handset and base unit. The base unit will switch to another channel
automatically to restore the connection very quickly.

BASIC HANDSET FUNCTIONS
MAKING CALLS
1. Pick up the handset and press Talk.
You will hear the dial tone.
2. Enter a number to dial.
If connection is made, “TALK” will be
shown on the LCD and calling time will
be started from 00:00. Volume level is
shown on the bottom right corner.
RECEIVING / ENDING CALLS
Ring flasher of both base unit, and the handset lights up whenever the phone ring
to provide a visual alert, and sounds to provide an audible alert. If there is no
Caller ID information sent, the LCD displays “EXTERNAL CALL”.
Pick up the handset and press Talk to begin theconversation.
Press Talk or replace the handset back to the base unit, when the phone is offhook, will end the call or.
ADJUSTING VOLUME
The volume level is ranged from 1 to 4. It
is shown on the lower right hand side of
the display. To adjust volume during a
call, rotate the volume control on the
handset.
BOOST THE VOLUME
To boost the volume level up to 50dB
and enhance the quality of the incoming
voice, press “Amplify” button to toggle
the handset to amplifier level. The display
will show the “+” sign in front the volume
level.
To turn of amplifier mode, press “amplify”
button again.
WARNING: Make sure to lower or minimize the volume level before selecting the
Amplifying volume function to protect from damaging your ears.

USING MUTE
During a conversation, press Mute to
toggle the microphone, to mute or unmute status. The status of the microphone will be display on the bottom left
corner.
USING PRE-DIAL
The pre-dial function allows you to enter
the number, check, and edit the number
before you press Talk to make the call.
The numbers are displayed in large fonts
for easier reading.
1. In standby mode, enter a number by using numeric keypad. If you make a
mistake, press DEL to erase.
2. Press Talk to start dialing.
3. Press and hold DEL to clear all numbers and return to standby mode.
REDIALING NUMBER
Press Redial to dial the last number you entered.
NOTE: You enter more than 34 digits in pre dial mode or press Flash during a call,
the redial memory will be erased.
USING THE PAUSE
In some phone systems, you must dial
an access code (9, for example) and
wait for a second dial tone before
dialing an outside number. When you
manually dial a number or you store a
number in memory, you can have your
telephone pause anywhere during a dial
sequence. Press Redial/Pause at the desired location.
In pre-dial or post-dial mode, a one second dial pause is inserted by pressing
the Pause. It is indicated by a “P” in dial string.

CALL WAITING
If you subscribe to Call Waiting service
with your local telephone company and
there is an incoming call when the phone
is off-hook, they will send you a call
waiting alert tone in the handset
receiver. Press Flash to answer the
second call. A “FLASH” message will
appear on the LCD. Press Flash again to toggle between two phone calls.
Press Talk once to hand up one call, or twice to hand up both calls.
USING THE PHONEBOOK
The phonebook can store up to 99 names and phone numbers. Each name can be
14 characters and number can be 24 digits in length.
1. To access the phonebook, press PHBK. The first phonebook entry will be
shown.

to view other phonebook entries.
3. If there is no key pressed for several seconds, the handset automatically exits
the phonebook and return to standby mode or press DEL.
ADDING A PHONEBOOK ENTRY
While viewing the phonebook, press
MENU to enter the phonebook menu. Use
/ to scroll through four options: Add
Record, Edit Record, Delete Record and
Delete All. Press MENU to select an
option.

1. Select the sub-menu item “ADD RECORD” to add a phonebook entry. If the
phonebook is full, a “PHONEBOOK FULL” message will be displayed.
2. If there is available storage space in the phonebook, the message “ENTER
NAME” will appear on the LCD. Using table 1.1 to enter a phonebook name or
press MENU again to bypass.

3. After enter a name, press Menu to save. The “ENTER NUMBER” prompt will be
displayed. Enter a number by using numeric keypad: 0…9, #,*, and Pause.

4. Press MENU to save the number and return to the phonebook list.
Note: You can enter a number without a name. Each Pause “P” will add one
second delay to the dial string.
EDITING A PHONEBOOK ENTRY
1. Press PHBK to list phone book entries.
2. Press / to search and select the entry you wish to edit. Press MENU and
select“EDITRECORD”.
3. Edit name and number by using numeric keypad and press MENU to save the
entry.
DELETING A PHONEBOOK ENTRY
1. Press PHBK to list the entries.
/ to search and select the entry you wish to delete. Press MENU
2. Press
and select “DELETE RECORD”. The “” prompt is displayed .
3. Press MENU to confirm. Press any other key or DEL to cancel and return to the
phonebook list.
DELETING ALL PHONEBOOK ENTRIES
Select the sub-menu item “DELETE ALL” to delete all phonebook entries.
CALLING A STORED PHONEBOOK ENTRY
To make a call using the phonebook, press PHBK to enter the phonebook list.
Press
/ to search and select the entry you wish to call. Press TALK to dial
the selected entry. To jump to an entry group, press first letter of the group by
using the keypad and use / to select the entry you want to make a dial.
For example:
From the phonebook list, press key “7” three times to jump to group of entry start
with “R”.

EMERGENCY AND DIRECT NUMBER MEMORY
There are six speed dial buttons for your convenience. Three buttons are for
emergency purpose, and three are for frequently used numbers.
1. To use these buttons, press any one of the following keys:

EDIT SPEED DIAL BUTTONS
Select and press the button you want to edit. Press MENU to enter the speed dial
menu. Use / to select one of the options and press MENU to enter: Edit
Record, Delete Record, or Delete All.
EDITRECORD:
1. Use keypad 0…9, *, # and Pause to
enter a number at prompt.
2. Press MENU to save the number and
return.
DELETERECORD:
Press MENU when the handset displays the message “delete?” to delete the
number. Press any key or DEL key to cancel and return.
DELETE ALL:
Select this option if you want to delete all emergency and speed dial memory
records.
CALLER ID DISPLAY
Caller Identification is a service offered by your local telephone company. If you
are not sure you have this option in your telephone service contract, contact them
for more detail. If you have a Caller ID service name, number, date, and time of the
incoming call after the first ring. The KR2812 can record up to 99 caller names,
and numbers. The oldest entry will be erased if the call log is over 99 records. The
date and time of the phone will also be updated automatically following the first
caller ID record.
Name tagging:
When an incoming call is matched with a number stored in memory, the name
stored in the memory will be tagged to the incoming phone number.
Caller waiting ID:
KR2812 also display caller ID in call waiting. The identification information of the
caller will be shown on the display when you are on the other call. Contact your
local telephone company to have this service install for you.
If the Caller ID information is blocked, the handset will display calls with blocked
name / numbers:

VIEWING CALLER ID RECORDS
1.Press CID on the handset to access the call log records. If the call log is empty ,
a message “NO CALLS” will be displayed. Otherwise, the total number and new
number of call logs will be shown.
2. Press
log one.
3. Use
to browse the call records. The oldest record will be name as call
to see the call log entries.
4. Press DEL to exit the caller ID list and return to standby mode.
While viewing the Caller ID list, press Menu and use / to scroll through the
menu options: ADD Record, Edit for Call, Delete Record, Delete All. Press MENU
again to select an option.

SAVING CALLER ID RECORDS IN THE PHONEBOOK
1. When reviewing the caller ID, press MENU and select “ADD RECORD”. Press
MENU again to choose. The handset will ask “ENTER NAME”. The name, from the
Caller ID list, is displayed. Otherwise, the name is blank. You will enter a new
name or press MENU again to bypass.
2. Use table 1.1 and numeric keypad to edit a name and press # to toggle between
uppercase and lowercase characters.
3. Press MENU to save the name entry.
4. “ENTER NUMBER” message and the number from the Caller ID record, is
displayed. Press MENU to save that number to the memory. If the number is
blank, Use numeric keypad 0…9, *, #, and pause to edit a phone book number.
5. Press MENU to save the number entry.The display will return to show the caller
ID list.
SETTING LONG DISTANCE AND AREA CODE TO THE
PHONE NUMBER
When you are in the Caller ID list, press Format to toggle the number format from
seven digits to ten digits (add area code) or to eleven digits (add area code and
long distance).

EDIT THE CALL LOG NUMBER BEFORE DIALING
You can edit the caller ID number before press Talk to dial. When reviewing the
call log, press Menu to enter the call log menu and select “EDIT FOR CALL”. Using
numeric keypad or press DEL to erase a number. The editing process will be
ended if all number is erased. Press Talk to dial the number.
ERASING A CALLER ID RECORD
1. Press CID to list the record.
2. Using / to choose the record.
3. Press MENU and select “DELETE RECORD”. Press MENU.
4. The message “DELETE?” will be displayed. Press MENU again to delete. Press
any key or DEL to cancel and return to display the call logs.
ERASING ALL CALLER ID RECORDS
1. Press CID to list the record.
2.Press MENU and select “DELETE ALL?” to delete all Caller ID entries.
3.The message “DELETE?” will be displayed. Press MENU again to delete all Caller
ID records. Press any key or DEL to cancel and return to list the call logs.
DIALING A CALLER ID RECORDE
1. Press Talk to dial the Caller ID entry that is displayed.
ADDITIONAL PHONE FUNCTIONS
USING THE INTERCON
1. Presst INT at anytime to place an internal call to the other handsets even when
you are answering a phone call.
2. Press / to select the handset.
3. Press TALK to call.
If there is no response from the other handset, the display will returns to previous
state. If the phone is off hook, and the internal is connected, the external call will
be placed on hold.

4. Pressing INT will toggle the between internal and external calls.
The message “INTERCOM HOLD” will be
displayed to indicate that the status of
the internal call.
TRANSFERRING CALLS
An incoming call on one handset can be transferred to another handset:
1. On the first handset, press INT (the external call will be put on hold).
2. Select a handset from the menu and press Talk, or press the handset number
from the keypad.
3. Once the second handset answers the call, press Talk on the first handset to
hang up the call. The second handset will be on line with the external call.
NOTE: When transferring a call, the first handset must wait for the other to
answer before pressing Talk to hang up the call.
HOLDING A CONFERENCE CALL
1.Press CONF when you are off hook and other handset is on hold to place a
conference call between the outside call and the two handsets. The handset
displays will shown:
2.To stop a conference call on one of the handsets, press Talk. The connection
will continue between the remaining parties.
If one handset is off hook and other handset try to access the line, the message
“LINE IN USE” will be shown on other handset display.
ONE-WAY BASE PAGING
The paging is used to locate handsets. Press Page from the base unit. The base
will send a signal to the handset and activate the beeps on the handset. Paging
stops automatically after 120 seconds or if any key is pressed on the handset or
base unit.

You can adjust the ring tone and volume for external or internal calls by using this

To set the area code:
When the area code of the incoming call
match with the saved area code in
memory, the Caller ID number will not
display the area code.
To set the key tone:
Each key press will generate a key tone.

To set auto answer
In auto answer mode On, the handset
will automatically go off hook from an
incoming call when you pick up the
handset. Use /

To set baby call:
Baby call mode allows the handset to
dial a preprogram number when any key
is pressed (except MENU key). Use

to enter the number. Press MENU to

When the Baby Call mode is on, press any key to begin dialing the baby call

To set pre-fixed dialing number:
The pre-fixed dialing number will be
dialed automatically before dial a
number. Use
/ to toggle pre-fixed
dialing On / Off. If pre-fixed dialing is
turned off, the display returns to the
previous menu. If pre-fixed dialing is
turned on, you will be prompted to enter
the pre-fixed number set. Press MENU
to save and exit.
To set dial mode:
There are 2 dial modes: TONE and
PULSE dials. Select PULSE dial if your
area does not support TONE dial. Use
/ to toggle TONE to PULSE dial
mode.
NOTE: Temporary switch to tone dial mode: If pulse dial mode is default, pressing
* key before enter the numbers will change the pulse-dial mode to tone dial mode.
The handset will change back to pulse dial mode after the call ended.
To set flash time:
Use Flash feature put the current call on
hold and switch to a call waiting. Use
/ to select a flash time (100ms, 270ms,
300ms or 600ms). If you are not sure
which one is required by your local
telephone company, choose the 600ms.
Press MENU to save the selection.
To set programmable handset name:
Giving a handset a name is a best choice
when you have a multi room house or
multi users. It can be living room, kitchen,
library, and sun room for a multi room
house. It also can be John, Ryan, Sue,
and Sam if there are several users. Use
table 1.1 to enter a name at prompt.
Press MENU to save. The handset name
will be displayed.

To de-register the handset:
Follow the same steps of registering
handsets to de-register handsets.
To manually clear message waiting:
If you have a message service, or voice
mail service from your local phone
company, and you have a message
waiting, the base unit LED will flash. The
LED only stops flashing once all messages have been checked and deleted.
In CLEAR MESSAGE WAITING, use / to select “Yes” or “No”. Press MENU to
confirm. If you choose “No”, the display returns to the previous menu. If you
choose “Yes”, the unit will clear the message waiting status. If successful,
“SUCCESS” appears and the display returns to the previous menu.
To select base:
Follow the same steps of registering
handsets to select base unit.
Show ID:
RFPI (Radio Fixed Part Identity) and IPUI
(International Portable User Identity) are
ID numbers matched between the
handset and the base unit. It allows the
base unit and the handset to identify
each other during the phone registration
process.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The KR2812 is designed for indoor use only. Do not set the handset in direct sun
light, it will damage the LCD display which will not cover under warranty. First,
check these steps, it may save you to go through a repair process:
• The base unit is connected to the power supply and phone line.
• The main power is switched on at the socket.
• The handset battery is installed and fully charged.
DO NOT open the handset or the base since it will null your warranty.
PROBLEM

• Out of range from base unit - move the
handset within 300 m (approx. 980 ft) radius
from the base unit.
• Interference from environment - reposition the
base unit to reduce interference. (For

unit will need to be reset and synchronized.
• Handset may not be registered to base unit.
Can not enter the options
• Ensure the handset is not placed in the cradle

Every key I press calls a

• The handset is in Baby Call mode. To deactivate see section on PHONE SETUP
Caller ID is not displayed
• Check with your telephone company for Caller
ID service subscription
• Full name and number need to be stored in the
call log before display. Do not pick up the
handset in the first ring since the Caller ID

KR2812 sold by Krown Manufacturing, Inc. is free from defects in materials and
workmanship under normal use and service for one year. This warranty is
applicable only to the original purchaser of the cordless phone when accompanied
by a sale receipt stating the date of purchase and the name of the company from
which purchased. This warranty is in lieu and excludes all other warranties,
expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness
and of any obligation on the part of Krown Manufacturing, Inc. If the phone shall
prove the defective, then Krown Manufacturing, Inc shall either replace or repair
the phone at no cost to the original purchaser within one year of the date of
purchase. During the one-year period you may return the phone to Krown
