WARRANTY AND STATUTORY RIGHTSIInteraxon Inc. and/or its aliates (“Interaxon”) have provided you with a limited warranty (which can be found at http://choosemuse.com/warranty) relating to defects in materials or workmanship for Muse. This limited warranty sets out certain situations when Interaxon will, or will not, provide a remedy for Muse. You may have legal (statutory) rights that are in addition to those set out in the limited warranty (such as consumer laws of the country in which you live) (“Consumer Rights”). None of your Consumer Rights are limited or excluded. You must follow Interaxon’s return process described in the limited warranty in order to make a claim under the limited warranty.SAFETY WARNINGSREAD INSTRUCTIONS. Read and understand all instructions in the documentation, hardcopy or softcopy, before you use your Muse.BATTERY. Don’t attempt to replace the Muse battery yourself — you may damage the battery, which could cause overheating and injury. The lithium-ion battery in the Muse should be replaced only by Interaxon or an Interaxon service provider, and must be recycled or disposed of separately from household waste. Don’t incinerate the battery.CHARGING. Do not use MUSE while plugged into a USB port for charging. Charge your Muse using only the included cable. In order to ensure proper operation, and to minimize personal injuries and property damage, the USB (the larger connector of the “USB-micro USB” Cable assembly) should only be plugged into the USB outlets from approved devices such as a desktop computer, notebook computer, etc.USB outlets from non-approved devices may cause unexpected safety hazards. Using the wrong cables or adapters or damaged cables, or charging when moisture is present, may cause electric shock, overheating and injury. Use common sense to avoid situations where your skin is in contact with a device or its power adapter when it is operating or plugged into a power source. Disconnect the USB cable once Muse is fully charged.The micro USB port on the Muse headband is not to be interconnected with any devices other than an approved USB charging device, etc.
WATER, MOISTURE AND HEAT. Do not use Muse near water or when you are wet. Muse is not water resistant, but may be wiped down with a damp cloth for cleaning.RADIO SIGNALS. Muse uses radio signals to connect to wireless networks. Observe signs and notices that prohibit or restrict the use of wireless devices (for example, healthcare facilities, airlines or blasting areas). Although Muse is designed, tested, and manufactured to comply with regulations governing radio frequency emissions, such emissions from Muse may negatively aect the operation of other electronic equipment, causing them to malfunction.FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. Content found on InteraXon.ca or choosemuse.com, on other Interaxon or related websites, or through the use of the Interaxon software, products or services, is for informational purposes only and is not intended to replace the relationship between you and your physician or other health-care provider. Interaxon is not a licensed medical or health-care provider and has no expertise in diagnosing, examining, or treating medical conditions of any kind.PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS. In rare cases, people experience seizures or blackouts due to exposure to flashing lights and patterns created by the display of certain applications on mobile or other such similar devices. If you have done so, or have experienced any nausea, involuntary movements, tingling, numbness, vision issues while using suchdevices in the past, you should consult with your doctor before using similar applications and should immediately cease all such use of such applications should the symptoms reoccur. In any event you should avoid prolonged use of such applications to minimize any possible discomfort or fatigue, including any muscle, joint or eye strain and should closely monitor your children’s use of technology to avoid possible problems.PERMITTED AGE. The Interaxon software and products are available for individuals aged 13 years or older, except where prohibited by law (“Permitted Age”). If the user is of the Permitted Age or older but under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, the user should review all documentation and information with his or her parent or guardian to make sure that both the user and parent or guardian, understand and accept the documentation and information.
EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES. Like all electrical devices, do not charge or use Muse in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, such as at a fueling area, or in areas where the air contains chemicals or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders). Obey all signs and instructions.CHOKING HAZARD. Muse accessories may present a choking hazard. Keep these accessories away from small children.USE IN APPROPRIATE CONTEXTS. Muse is intended to be used indoors in a properly seated position and not intended for use while walking down the street or driving. Failure to pay full attention during walking or the operation of your vehicle could result in death, serious injury, or property damage. You assume total responsibility and risk for not following this operating instruction.DO NOT OPEN, MODIFY OR ATTEMPT REPAIR. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Always refer servicing to qualified service personnel only. Changes or modifications to the device are not approved by Interaxon and could void the warranty and user’s authority to operate the device.OPERATING CONDITIONS. The main aim of the Directive is to ensure that WEEE is collected and treated separately. WEEE may contain hazardous substances that should not end-up in the (human) environment and can have adverse eects on it if they do.Furthermore, WEEE is a vast source of raw materials. With the ever rising worldwide demand for new equipment and the ever decreasing volume of natural raw materials, letting this potential source go to waste is unacceptable.If equipment is collected separately, the equipment can be recycled and up to 67% of the equipment can be re-used as new material (or alternatively up to 90% of the equipment can be recovered), saving the use of virgin raw materials and energy of producing these.For above reasons, Interaxon expects end-users to dispose of the material separately at designated collection points. Le logiciel et les produits d’Interaxon sont à la disposition des personnes de 13 ans ou plus, sauf là où la loi l’interdit (l’« âge permis »). Si l’utilisateur est d’âge permis ou supérieur, mais sous l’âge de majorité dans son territoire de résidence, l’utilisateur devrait revoir tous les documents et toute l’information avec ses parents ou tuteurs pour s’assurer que l’utilisateur et ses parents ou tuteurs les comprennent bien et les acceptent.
GARANTIE ET DROITS STATUTAIRESInteraxon Inc. et/ou ses sociétés aliées (« Interaxon ») vous a fourni une garantie limitée (se trouvant à http://choosemuse.com/warranty) relative aux défectuosités matérielles ou de main d’œuvre de Muse. Cette garantie limitée décrit certaines situations dans lesquelles Interaxon fournira ou ne fournira pas un recours pour Muse. Vous pourriez avoir des droits (statutaires) juridiques qui s’ajoutent à ceux qui sont décrits dans la garantie limitée (comme les droits des consommateurs du pays où vous vivez) (les « droits des consommateurs »). Aucun de vos droits des consommateurs n’est limité ou exclu. Vous devez vous conformer au processus de retour d’Interaxon décrit dans la garantie limitée afin de faire une réclamation en vertu de la garantie limitée.AVERTISSEMENTS DE SÉCURITÉLISEZ LE MODE D’EMPLOI. Lisez et comprenez toutes les directives dans les documents, sur papier ou électroniques, avant d’utiliser votre Muse.PILE. Ne tentez pas de remplacer vous-même la pile de Muse — vous pourriez endom-mager la pile, ce qui pourrait causer la surchaue et des blessures. La pile aux ions de lithium de Muse devrait être remplacée uniquement par Interaxon ou un fournisseur de service Interaxon, et doit être recyclée ou éliminée séparément des déchets ménagers. N’incinérez pas la pile.RECHARGE. N’utilisez pas MUSE lorsque l’appareil est branché dans un port USB à des fins de recharge. Chargez Muse uniquement à l’aide du câble fourni. Afin de profiter d’un bon fonctionnement et pour minimiser les risques de blessures personnelles et de dommages aux biens, le connecteur USB (le plus gros connecteur de l’assemblage du câble « USB-micro USB ») ne doit être branché que dans les prises USB de dispositifs approuvés comme les ordinateurs de bureau, portables, etc. Les prises USB d’appareils non approuvés peuvent causer des dangers inattendus. L’utilisation de câbles ou adaptateurs incorrects ou de câbles endommagés, ou la recharge en présence d’humid-ité, peuvent causer des décharges électriques, la surchaue ou des blessures. Faites appel au bon sens pour éviter les situations où votre peau est en contact avec un appareil et son adaptateur d’alimentation pendant son fonctionnement ou lorsque branché dans une source d’alimentation. Débranchez le câble USB unique fois que l’appareil Muse est entièrement chargé. Les deux ports micro-USB sur le bandeau Muse ne doivent pas être interconnectés avec tout appareil autre qu’un dispositif de recharge USB approuvé, etc.
