• Do not connectdrainlinesfrom otherdevicesto the
dishwasherdrain hose.
• Dishwasher
mustbeconnectedto waste linewith an air gap
(notsupplied)or 32" minimumhighdrain loop,dependingon

CABINET PREPARATION

Failureto providethe proper drain connectionheightwith air gap

• Drilla 1-1/2" dia. hole in the cabinet wall within the shaded
areasshown in FigureA for the drain hoseconnection.The hole
shouldbe smoothwith no sharp edges.

• The line may passthrough the same hole as the electrical
cableand drain hose.Or, cut an additional1-1/2" dia. holeto
accommodatethe water line.
If power cord with plug is used,water line must not pass
throughpower cord hole.

Locate and set asidethe packagecontaining
2 Phillips headcountertop mountingscrews and
2 additionaltoekick screws (located in the literature
package).

Connection

• Turn off the water supply.
• Install a handshut-off valve in an accessiblelocation,such as
underthe sink. (Optional,but strongly recommendedand may
be requiredby local codes.)
• Water connectionis on the left sideof the dishwasher.Install
the hot water inlet line, usingno less than 3/8" O.D.copper
tubing. Routethe line as shown in FigureF and extend
forward at least 18" from rear wall.
• Adjust water heaterfor 120°F to 150°F temperature.
• Flushwater line to cleanout debris.
• The hot water supply line pressuremust be 20-120 PSI.

CAUTION:
Openingthe doorwill causethe dishwasher
to tip forward. Do not open the door until you are
ready to install the dishwasher. If
it is necessary
to openthe door,holdthe ,/_
top of the dishwashersecurelywith one
handandholdthe doorwith the other
hand.

• Openthe doorslowly, if the door dropswhen released,
increasespring tension. If the door closeswhen released,
decreasetension.
• Pull the springadjustmentpin out of the holes,insert in the
next highest or lowest hole andtest again.
• Adjust both door springsto the sametension.
• Continuemovingthe spring pin until door is balanced.

• Slide ferrule against elbow and securewith compressionnut.
IMPORTANT: Checkto be surethe dishwasheris centeredin

Review this list after installing your dishwasher to
avoid charges for a service call that is not covered
by your warranty.

Skip this step if equipped with power cord,
Verify that power is turned off at the source,
• Removejunction box cover "A".
• Locatethe three dishwasherwires, (white, black and green)
with stripped ends.Insert dishwasherwires through the
small hole in the junction box"B'.
• Securehousewiring to the bottom of the junction boxwith a
strain relief "C'.

[] Checkto be sure power is OFF.

• User wire nuts to connectincominggroundto green,white to
white and black to black "O".
• Replacejunction box cover "E". Checkto be surethat wires
are not pinchedunderthe cover.

[] Checkdoor openingandclosing.If door doesnot openand
close freely or tends to fall, checkspring adjustments.See
Step 1.

[] Opendoor and removeall foam and paperpackaging.
[] Locatethe Owner'sManualin the literature package.
[] Readthe Owner's Manualfor operatinginstructions.

[] Checkto be sure that wiring is secureunder the dishwasher,
not pinchedor in contact with door springsor other
components.SeeStep 9.

E. ReplaceJunction Box Cover

[] Checkdoor alignmentwith tub. If door hits tub, level
dishwasher.See Step 10.
If housewiring is not 2-wire with ground,
a groundmust be providedby the installer.
Whenhousewiring is aluminum,be sure to
useUL Listed anti-oxidantcompoundand
aluminum-to-copperconnectors.

[] Pull lower rack out, abouthalf way. Checkto be sureit does
not roll back or forward on the door.If the rack moves,adjust
levelinglegs. See Step 10.

WARNING

[] Checkdoor alignmentwith cabinet.If door hitscabinet,
reposition or releveldishwasher.See Step 10.
[] Verify water supply and drain lines are not kinked or in
contact with other components.Contact with motor or
dishwasherframe could causenoise. SeeStep 8.
[] Turn on the sink hot water faucet and verify water
temperature.Incomingwater temperaturemust be between
120°F and 150°F. A minimumof 120°F temperatureis
requiredfor best wash performance.See"PrepareHot Water
Line",page5.
[] Add 2 quarts of water to the bottom of the dishwasherto
lubricate the pumpseal.
[] Turn on water supply. Checkfor leaks.Tighten connections
if needed.
[] Removeprotective film if presentfrom the control paneland
door.

supplyoff, then tighten connections.Restorepowerafter leakis
corrected.
[] Checkfor leaksaroundthe door.A leakaroundthe door couldbe
causedby doorrubbingor hitting againstadjacentcabinetry.Reposition
the dishwasherif necessary.SeeStep 9.

[] Thedishwasherwill drainandturn off about5 to 7 minutesafter the
first fill. Checkdrain lines.If leaksarefound,turn poweroff at the
breakerandcorrectplumbingasnecessary.Restorepowerafter
corrections aremade.SeeStep 12.
[] Opendishwasherdoorandmakesuremost of the water has drained.
If not, checkthat disposerplughasbeenremovedand/orair gapis not
plugged.SeeStep 13. Alsocheckdrainlinefor kinking.
[] Runthe dishwasherthroughanotherfill anddrain cycle.Checkfor
leaksandcorrect if required.
[] At the endof drain, opendoor andturn dialto OFFposition.

• Place2-piecetoekickagainst the legs of the dishwasher.
• Placethe innertoekick piece(with slots) against the toekick
bracket. The slots shouldalign with toekick bracket screw
holes.Allow the toekick to touch the floor.
• Placelarger toekick over the inner pieceand install 4 toekick
screws.
• Use additional2 screws that are providedfor installations
over 33-1/2" high.
• Use both toekick piecesfor all installation heights.
