SUGGESTIONS FOR USE Keep the batteries fresh for most efficient messaging. When you see the battery icon appear on your display, replace them right away. If the power gets too low in Digi—Chat your display will dim and the transmission distances will be very reduced. At a toolow power level Digi—Chat will shut itself off and you will have no responses from any buttons at all. To fix this replace the batteries with fresh ones. Do not subject your Digi—Chat unit to extreme temperatures, water or shock. Take good care of it and it will give you reliable service. No direct sunlight left in cars or freezing temperatures, etc. When attempting to send or receive a message, try to stay as much in the open as possible Many building walls have metal within and this reduces the effective range of the units. Don't put Digi-Chat in your pocket and sit on it. This can cause damage to your Digi-Chat unit. The actual wireless sending of the data takes less than one second. However, when many Digi-Chat users are in one area, it would be good to be considerate and notjam the waves. As this will cause missed messages sometimes with multiple users jamming the airwaves at the same time. Once you have tried the Friend Seeker, you may go in and edit your FINDER- PREFS to see how others have set theirs. Change only one thing at a time and use the Friend-Seeker. As you make changes to the selections in your FINDER- PREFS, you will be able to see how others now compare with you. Using some easy logical deductions will allow you to see how someone whom you care about has set their FINDER-PREFS. This can give you some information on what they might really care about. You can in some cases, when the distance is not too far, to communicate through some types of light wall construction. it is difficult for Digi-Chat to do this, but when you can get it working —is really fun because you cannot see whom you are sending to. The best operating conditions are through an open area like a field. Digi—Chat can however be used within many outdoor situations for a lot of fun. Digi-Chat usually works very well over the distances usually found in a typical classroom or cafeteria. Digi-Chat is your own personal communicator. When you send messages to a specific CHAT-NAME, others will not be able to see them. Only those with that specific name will receive those messages. The only messages that are not personal and private are those sent to ALL (goes to all units within range), BOYS (goes to all who have male selected in their FlNDER-PREFS) or GIRLS (goes to all who have female selected in their FINDER-PREFS) WARNING: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the users authority to operate the equipment.
