If the ice storage bin is located on the door, remove the
temporary shield from underneath the ice storage bin. See
"Ice Maker and Storage Bin."
Remove tape and glue residue from surfaces before turning
on the refrigerator. Rub a small amount of liquid dish soap
over the adhesive with your fingers. Wipe with warm water
and dry.
Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable
fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or glue. These
products can damage the surface of your refrigerator. For
more information see "Refrigerator Safety."

To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator, allow for 1/2"
(1.25 cm) space on each side and at the top. When installing your
refrigerator next to a fixed wall, leave 2" (5.08 cm) minimum on
each side (depending on your model) to allow for the door to
swing open. If your refrigerator has an ice maker, allow extra
space at the back for the water line connections.
NOTE: It is recommended that you do not install the refrigerator
near an oven, radiator, or other heat source. Do not install in a
location where the temperature will fall below 55°F (13°C).

When Moving Your Refrigerator:
Your refrigerator is heavy. When moving the refrigerator
for cleaning or service, be sure to protect the floor.
Always pull the refrigerator straight out when moving it.
Do not wiggle or "walk" the refrigerator when trying to move
it, as floor damage could occur.

of your refrigerator before using it. See the cleaning instructions

they are cold. Shelves and covers may break if exposed to
sudden temperature changes or impact, such as bumping.
For your protection, tempered glass is designed to shatter
into many small, pebble-size pieces. This is normal. Glass
shelves and covers are heavy. Use special care when
removing them to avoid impact from dropping.

A cold water supply with water pressure of between 30 and

IMPORTANT: The pressure of the water supply coming out of a
reverse osmosis system going to the water inlet valve of the
refrigerator needs to be between 30 and 120 psi (207 and
827 kPa).

Check to see whether the sediment filter in the reverse
osmosis system is blocked. Replace the filter if necessary.

Before you move your refrigerator into its final location, it is
important to make sure you have the proper electrical
connection.

Grounding Method
A 115 Volt, 60 Hz., AC only 15- or 20-amp fused, grounded
electrical supply is required. It is recommended that a separate
circuit serving only your refrigerator be provided. Use an outlet
that cannot be turned off by a switch. Do not use an
extension cord.

Allow the storage tank on the reverse osmosis system to refill
after heavy usage.
If your refrigerator has a water filter, it may further reduce the
water pressure when used in conjunction with a reverse
osmosis system. Remove the water filter. See "Water
Filtration System."

If you have questions about your water pressure, call a licensed,
qualified plumber.

NOTE: Before performing any type of installation, cleaning, or
removing a light bulb, turn the control (Thermostat, Refrigerator
or Freezer Control depending on the model) OFF and then
disconnect the refrigerator from the electrical source. When you
are finished, reconnect the refrigerator to the electrical source
and reset the control (Thermostat, Refrigerator or Freezer Control
depending on the model) to the desired setting.

Gather the required tools and parts before starting installation.
Read and follow the instructions provided with any tools listed
here.

Remove the Base Grille:
1.

Open both doors.

Place hands along the ends of the grille. Push in on the top of
the base grille and pull up on the bottom.

NOTE: Be sure to refasten the Tech Sheet behind the base grille

Replace the Base Grille:
1. Open both doors.

NOTE: Your refrigerator dealer has a kit available with a %11
(6.35 mm) saddle-type shutoff valve, a union, and copper tubing.
Before purchasing, make sure a saddle-type valve complies with
your local plumbing codes. Do not use a piercing-type or 3/_6"
(4.76 mm) saddle valve which reduces water flow and clogs more
easily.
IMPORTANT:

All installations

must meet local plumbing code requirements.

•

Use copper tubing and check for leaks. Install copper tubing
only in areas where the household temperatures will remain
above freezing.

Line up the grille support tabs with the metal clips.

Push the grille firmly to snap it into place.

Open both refrigerator doors. Remove the base grille by
pulling up on the bottom outside corners. See Graphic 1.

Close both doors and keep them closed until you are ready to
lift them free from the cabinet.

If you have a dispenser (ice or water), disconnect the water
dispenser tubing located behind the base grille on the freezer
door side. See Graphic 2.

Press the red outer ring against the face of fitting and pull
the dispenser tubing free.

•

On some models, remove tubing from hose clip.

Remove top left hinge screw and cover as shown in
Graphic 3.

Disconnect wiring plug and both ground wires from the
ground wire screw (on some models) as shown in Graphic 3.

Remove remaining left hinge screws and hinge as shown in
Graphic 3. Do not remove screw A.

Lift freezer door straight up off bottom hinge. See Graphic 4.
The water dispenser tubing remains attached to the freezer
door and pulls through the bottom left hinge. Make sure you
protect the dispenser tubing from damage.

Reconnect both ground wires.

Replace left hinge cover and screws.

Replace the refrigerator door by lifting the door onto the
bottom right hinge.

Align and replace the top right hinge as shown in Graphic 5.

the refrigerator through a doorway. Both bottom hinges have

Disassemble the hinges as shown in Graphic 6.

Replace both bottom hinges, if removed. Tighten screws.
Assistance may be needed to feed the water dispenser
tubing through the bottom hinge while reinstalling the freezer
door. Feed the dispenser tubing through the bottom left hinge
before replacing the door on the hinge.

NOTE: Provide additional support for the doors while the top
hinges are being replaced. Do not depend on the door magnets
to hold the doors in place while you are working.

Reconnect water dispenser tubing by pushing tubing into
fitting until it stops and black mark touches the face of the red
outer ring. See Graphic 2. On some models, replace tubing in
hose clip.

Your refrigerator has two front adjustable rollers -- one on the
right and one on the left. If your refrigerator seems unsteady or if
you want the doors to close more easily, adjust the refrigerator's
tilt using the instructions below.

Move the refrigerator into its final location.

The two leveling screws are part of the front roller assemblies
which are at the base of the refrigerator on either side. See
Graphic 7.

Use a hex-head socket wrench to adjust the leveling screws.
Turn the leveling screw to the right to raise that side of the
refrigerator or turn the leveling screw to the left to lower that
side. It may take several turns of the leveling screws to adjust
the tilt of the refrigerator. See Graphic 7.
NOTE: Having someone push against the top of the
refrigerator takes some weight off the leveling screws and
rollers. This makes it easier to adjust the screws.

Connect to Refrigerator
Style I - Connection to Water Valve
1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.
2.

Attach the copper tube to the valve inlet using a compression
nut and sleeve as shown. Tighten the compression nut. Do
not overtighten.

Use the tube clamp on the back of the refrigerator to secure
the tubing to the refrigerator as shown. This will help prevent
damage to the tubing when the refrigerator is pushed back
against the wall.
Turn shutoff valve ON.

Unplug refrigerator or disconnect

Turn OFF main water supply. Turn ON nearest faucet long
enough to clear line of water.

Locate a 1/2"to 11/4'' (1.25 cm to 3.18 cm) vertical cold water
pipe near the refrigerator.
IMPORTANT:

Make sure it is a cold water pipe.

Horizontal pipe will work, but drill on the top side of the
pipe, not the bottom. This will help keep water away from
the drill and normal sediment from collecting in the valve.

Determine the length of copper tubing you need. Measure
from the connection on the lower left rear of refrigerator to the
water pipe. Add 7 ft (2.1 m) to allow for cleaning. Use 1/4"
(6.35 mm) O.D. (outside diameter) copper tubing. Be sure
both ends of copper tubing are cut square.

Using a grounded drill, drill a 1/4"hole in the cold water pipe
you have selected.

The ice maker is equipped with a built-in water strainer. If
your water conditions require a second water strainer, install
it in the 1/4"(6.35 mm) water line at either tube connection.
Obtain a water strainer from your nearest appliance dealer.
Style 2 - Connection to Water Line
1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.
2.

Remove and discard the shipping tape and the black nylon
plug from the gray, coiled water tubing on the rear of the
refrigerator.

If the gray water tube supplied with the refrigerator is not long
enough, a 1/4"x 1/4"(6.35 mm x 6.35 ram) coupling is needed
in order to connect the water tubing to an existing household
water line. Thread the provided nut onto the coupling on the
end of the copper tubing.

Check for leaks. Tighten any connections (including
connections at the valve) or nuts that leak.

NOTE: Tighten the nut by hand. Then tighten it with a wrench
two more turns. Do not overtighten.

Fasten the shutoff valve to the cold water pipe with the pipe
clamp. Be sure the outlet end is solidly in the 1/4"(6.35 mm)
drilled hole in the water pipe and that the washer is under the
pipe clamp. Tighten the packing nut. Tighten the pipe clamp
screws slowly and evenly so the washer makes a watertight
seal. Do not overtighten or you may crush the copper tubing.

Slip the compression sleeve and compression nut onto the
copper tubing as shown. Insert the end of the tubing into the
outlet end squarely as far as it will go. Screw compression nut
onto outlet end with adjustable wrench. Do not overtighten.

Place the free end of the tubing in a container or sink, and
turn ON the main water supply. Flush the tubing until water is
clear. Turn OFF the shutoff valve on the water pipe. Coil the
copper tubing.

until the water begins to flow. Flush the water system by
dispensing and discarding 1.5 gal. (5.4 L) of water. Cleaning
the system will take approximately 3 minutes and will help
clear air from the line. Additional flushing may be required in
some households.

the Door Panels

Replace the refrigerator or freezer door panels:
•

Open refrigerator or freezer door.

•

Slide the _/s"(3.18 mm) decorator panel into place behind
the side trim.

•

Push the filler board into place behind the decorator
panel.

•

Repeat process for other panels and filler boards.

Attach the handles:
NOTE: Freezer door handle is notched to fit around the
dispenser panel.
•

Align the top of the refrigerator or freezer handle flush
with the top trim. Fasten the handle to the refrigerator or
freezer door with the screws, using a Phillips screwdriver.

•

Repeat the process for the other handle.

Care for Decorator

Clean panels with an anti-static cleaner (available in
electronics or computer departments) or mild soap and water
with a clean, soft, damp cloth.

Rinse panels thoroughly and blot dry using a dry, soft cloth or
chamois.
NOTE: Do not use paper towels or cleaners which contain
solvents such as ammonia. They can damage the surface of
the panels.

Remove the Door Panels
NOTE: When removing and replacing decorator panels, only the
handle is removed. All other trim pieces remain attached to the
doors.

Remove the refrigerator and freezer handles:
•

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that hold
each handle in place.

•

Lift off handle. Make sure you keep screws for reattaching
handles.

If small scratches should appear on the panels, they may be
filled using an automotive paste wax (not a cleaner/wax
combination). Apply wax sparingly and buff lightly with a
clean, soft cloth using a circular motion.
Install Custom

Wood Panels

If you plan to install custom wood decorator panels, you will need
to create the panels yourself or consult your cabinetmaker or
carpenter. See dimension drawings for wood panel inserts.
Flat panels:

•

Open refrigerator or freezer door.

You can create a custom flat panel a maximum of _/4"(6.35 mm)
thick to replace your decorator panels. Flat wood panels less
than _/4"(6.35 mm) thick are not recommended.

Store panel and filler boards to prevent scratching.

Remove the door panels:

You may hear the evaporator fan motor circulating air through
the refrigerator and freezer compartments. The fan speed
may increase as you open the doors or add warm food.

Rattling noises may come from the flow of refrigerant, the
water line, or items stored on top of the refrigerator.

Water dripping on the defrost heater during a defrost cycle
may cause a sizzling sound.

As each cycle ends, you may hear a gurgling sound due to

Freezer
In order to ensure proper temperatures, you need to permit air to
flow between the two sections. Cold air enters the bottom of the
freezer section and moves up. It then enters the refrigerator
section through the top vent. Air then returns to the freezer as
shown.

For Style 1, your product will not cool when the Refrigerator
control is set to OFR For Style 2, your product will not cool
when the Freezer Control is set to OFE
Settings to the left of the mid-setting make the temperature

The Automatic Exterior Moisture control continuously guards
against moisture buildup on the outside of your refrigerator
cabinet. This control does not have to be set or adjusted.

The Refrigerator control adjusts the refrigerator compartment
temperature. The Freezer control adjusts the freezer
compartment temperature.

Wait 24 hours after you turn on the refrigerator before you put
food into it. If you add food before the refrigerator has cooled
completely, your food may spoil.
NOTE: Adjusting the Refrigerator and Freezer controls to a
lower (colder) setting will not cool the compartments any
faster.

•

If the temperature is too warm or too cold in the refrigerator or
freezer, first check the air vents to be sure they are not

NOTE: The factory recommended set points are 0°F (-18°C) for
the freezer and 37°F (3°C) for the refrigerator.

Max Cool
The Max Cool feature assists with periods of heavy ice usage, full
grocery loads, or temporarily warm room temperatures.
•

Press MAX COOL pad to turn on the Max Cool feature. The
Max Cool indicator light will remain on for 24 hours unless
manually turned off.

To Dispense Water:
1. Press a sturdy glass against the water dispenser lever.
2.

Remove the glass to stop dispensing,

NOTE: Water may have an off-flavor if you do not use the
dispenser periodically. Dispense enough water every week to
maintain a fresh supply.

NOTE: The temperature display will not change. After
24 hours, the refrigerator returns to the previous temperature
set points.

The Ice Dispenser

Accelerated
Ice Production (on some models)
This feature assists with temporary periods of heavy ice use by
increasing ice production over a 24-hour period.

Ice dispenses from the ice maker storage bin in the freezer. When
the dispenser lever is pressed:

•

A trap door opens in a chute between the dispenser and the
ice bin. Ice moves from the bin and falls through the chute.

•

When you release the dispenser lever, the trap door closes
and the ice dispensing stops. The dispensing system will not
operate when the freezer door is open.

Press OPTIMICE touch pad to turn on the Optimlce ®feature.
The Optimlce ®setting will remain on for 24 hours unless
manually turned off.

If increased ice production is desired at all times, set the
Freezer Control to a colder number. Setting the freezer to a
colder temperature may make some foods, such as ice
cream, harder.

Some models dispense both cubed and crushed ice. Before
dispensing ice, select which type of ice you prefer. The button
controls are designed for easy use and cleaning.

The Temperature System feature lets you know the compressor
or evaporator fan is running. It is normal for this indicator light to
be on.

Temperature

For crushed ice, cubes are crushed before they are dispensed.
This may cause a slight delay when dispensing crushed ice.
Noise from the ice crusher is normal, and pieces of ice may vary
in size. When changing from crushed to cubed, a few ounces of
crushed ice will be dispensed along with the first cubes.
Depending on your model, you may have one or more of the
following options: the ability to select either crushed or cubed
ice, a special light that turns on when you use the dispenser, a
special AUTO mode, or a lock option to avoid unintentional
dispensing.

To Dispense Ice:
1. If the ice storage bin is located on the door, remove the
temporary shield from underneath the ice storage bin. See
"Ice Maker and Storage Bin."
2.

Press button for the desired type of ice.

The Water Dispenser
If you did not flush the water system when the refrigerator was
first installed, press the water dispenser bar with a sturdy glass
until you draw and discard 1.5 gal. (5.4 L) or approximately
3 minutes of water after water begins dispensing. It will take
3 to 4 minutes for the water to begin dispensing. The water you
draw and discard cleans the system and helps clear air from the
lines. Allow several hours for the refrigerator to cool down and
chill water.
IMPORTANT: Depending on your model, the small removable
tray at the bottom of the dispenser is designed to catch small
spills and allow for easy cleaning, There is no drain in the tray.
The tray can be removed from the dispenser and carried to the
sink to be emptied or cleaned.

Cut Hazard
Use a sturdy glass when dispensing ice.
Failure to do so can result

in cuts.

Press a sturdy glass against the ice dispenser lever. Hold the
glass close to the dispenser opening so ice does not fall
outside of the glass.

NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the
refrigerator, to the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply
deactivates the dispenser levers.

IMPORTANT: You do not need to apply a lot of pressure to
the lever in order to activate the ice dispenser. Pressing hard
will not make the ice dispense faster or in greater quantities.

Style 1
To turn off the dispenser, press the LOCK button until the
indicator appears. The ice and water dispensers will not work. To
unlock the dispenser, press the UNLOCK button until the
indicator appears. Then continue to dispense ice or water as
usual.

from new plumbing and parts. Throw the ice away. Also, take

The water filter status light will help you know when to change
your water filter cartridge. The light will change from green to
yellow. This tells you that it is almost time to change the water
filter cartridge (90% of the filter life has been used). It is
recommended that you replace the base grille water filter
cartridge when the water filter indicator light changes to red OR
water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker decreases
noticeably. To change the base grille water filter cartridge, see
"Changing the Water Filter Cartridge" later in this section.

After changing the water filter cartridge, reset the water filter
status light.
Style 1
Press the light switch 5 times within 10 seconds. The status light
will change from red to green.

ON: Press the LIGHT button to turn the dispenser light on.
AUTO: Press the LIGHT button a second time to select the AUTO
mode. The dispenser light will automatically adjust to become
brighter as the room brightens, dimmer as the room darkens.

The dispenser lights are LEDs which should not need to be
changed. If it appears that your dispenser lights are not working,

Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of
unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or

Using the Dispenser

Without the Water Filter Cartridge

You can run the dispenser without a water filter cartridge. Your
water will not be filtered.
1.

Remove the base grille water filter cartridge.

Slide the cartridge cap off the end of the filter cartridge. Do
not discard the cap. With the cartridge cap in the horizontal
position, insert the cap into the base grille until it stops.

Changing the Water Filter Cartridge
Locate the water filter cartridge cap in the front base grille.
Rotate the cap counterclockwise to a vertical position and
pull the cap and filter cartridge out through the base grille.
NOTE: There will be water in the cartridge. Some spilling may
occur.

Remove the cartridge cap by sliding it off the end of the old
cartridge. The cap will slide to the left or right. Do not discard
the cap.

Take the new cartridge out of its packaging and remove
protective cover from O-rings.

Slide the cartridge cap onto the new cartridge. See
illustration in Step 2.

With cartridge cap in the vertical position, push the new filter
cartridge into the base grille until it stops. Rotate the cartridge
cap clockwise to a horizontal position. Flush the water
system. See "Flushing the Water System After Replacing
Filter."

Style 1
To Turn the Ice Maker On/Off:
The On/Off switch for the ice maker is a wire shutoff arm located
on the side of the ice maker.
1.

To turn the ice maker on, simply lower the wire shutoff arm.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. As ice is
made, the ice cubes will fill the ice storage bin and the ice
cubes will raise the wire shutoff arm to the OFF (arm up)
position.

To manually turn the ice maker off, lift the wire shutoff arm to
the OFF (arm up) position and listen for the click to make sure
the ice maker will not continue to operate.

To Remove and Replace Ice Storage Bin:
1. Pull the covering panel out from the bottom and then slide it
back toward the rear.
2.

Lift the wire shutoff arm so it clicks into the OFF (up) position.
Ice can still be dispensed, but no more can be made.

Lift up the front of the storage bin and pull it out.

Replace the bin by pushing it in all the way or the dispenser
will not work. Push the wire shutoff arm down to the ON
position to restart ice production. Make sure the door is
closed tightly.

Flushing the Water System After Replacing Filter
Use a sturdy container to depress the water dispenser bar until
the water begins to flow. Flush the water system by dispensing
and discarding 1.5 gal. (5.4 L) of water. Cleaning the system will
take approximately 3 minutes and will help clear air from the line.
Additional flushing may be required in some households.
NOTE: As air is cleared from the system, water may spurt out of
the dispenser.

Style 2
To Turn the Ice Maker On/Off:
The On/Off switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
1.

To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left)
position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice
maker sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the
control will remain in the ON (left) position.

To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the
OFF (right) position.

1. Hold the base of the storage bin with both hands and press
the release button to lift the storage bin up and out.

OFF (right) position when removing the storage bin. The
sensor cover ("flipper door") on the left wall of the freezer
stops the ice maker from producing ice if the door is open or
the storage bin is removed.

Your model may have glass or wire shelves. Store similar foods
together and adjust the shelves to fit different heights. This
reduces the time the refrigerator door is open and saves energy.

To Remove and Replace a Shelf in a Metal Frame:
1. Pull the shelf forward to the stop. Tilt the front of the shelf up
and lift it slightly as you pull the shelf from the frame.
2.

Empty the ice container. Use warm water to melt the ice if
necessary.

Replace the shelf by guiding it back into the slots on the
frame and pushing the shelf in past the stop.

NOTE: Do not use anything sharp to break up the ice in the
bin. This can cause damage to the ice container and the
dispenser mechanism.
2.

Wash ice bin with a mild detergent, rinse well and dry
thoroughly. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Remember

•

Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Allow 3 days
to completely fill ice container.

•

Discard the first three batches of ice produced to avoid
impurities that may be flushed out of the system.

•

The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of
the water supplied to your ice maker.
Avoid connecting the ice maker to a softened water supply.
Water softener chemicals (such as salt) can damage parts of
the ice maker and lead to poor quality ice. If a softened water
supply cannot be avoided, make sure the water softener is
operating properly and is well maintained.

•

It is normal for the ice cubes to be attached at the corners.
They will break apart easily.

•

For Style 1 ice maker, do not force the wire shutoff arm up or
down.

•

Do not store anything on top of the ice maker or in the ice
storage bin.

Shelves and Shelf Frames
To Remove and Replace a Shelf/Frame:
1. Remove the shelf/frame by tilting it up at the front and lifting it
out of the shelf supports.
2.

Replace the shelf/frame by guiding the rear shelf hooks into
the shelf supports. Tilt the front of the shelf up until rear shelf
hooks drop into the shelf supports. Check to make sure that
the shelf is securely in position.

Adjusting

the Control

The convertible

control comes preset at the lowest meat setting.

The dell drawer stores raisins, nuts, spreads, and other small
items at normal refrigerator temperatures.

To change a control setting: Move the control to the right
(colder) or to the left (less cold) as desired.

To Remove and Replace the Deli Drawer:
1. Remove the dell drawer by sliding it straight out to the stop.
Lift the front and slide the drawer out the rest of the way.

To store vegetables:
Set the control to VEG (all the way to the
left) to store vegetables at their optimal storage temperatures
(which need to be warmer than those for meat).

Replace the dell drawer by sliding it back past the stop.

IMPORTANT: Iffood starts to freeze, move the control to the left
(less cold). Remember to wait 24 hours between adjustments.
Doing so gives the temperature
of the food time to change.
Meat Storage

Crisper and Convertible Vegetable Meat Drawers
To Remove and Replace Drawers:
1. Slide crisper or meat drawer straight out to the stop. Lift the
front of drawer with one hand while supporting the bottom of
drawer with other hand and slide the drawer out the rest of
the way.
2. Replace the crisper or meat drawer by sliding it back in fully
past the drawer stop.

moisture-proof. Rewrap if necessary. See the following chart for
storage times. When storing meat longer than the times given,
freeze the meat.

Crisper or Vegetable/Meat Drawer Covers
To Remove and Replace Covers:
1. Remove the crisper and meat drawer. Press up in center of
crisper glass insert until it rises above the plastic frame.
Holding the crisper glass firmly, slowly slide the glass insert
forward to remove.
2.

Lift crisper cover frame and remove. Repeat steps to remove
the meat drawer cover.

Replace back of meat drawer cover frame into supports or
slides on side walls of the refrigerator and lower or slide the
front of the cover frame into place.

Slide rear of glass insert into cover frame and lower front into
place. Repeat steps to replace the crisper cover.

The Crisper Humidity control is located on the crisper cover. You
can control the amount of humidity in the moisture-sealed
crisper. Adjust the control to any setting between LOW and
HIGH.
LOW (open) lets moist air out of the crisper for best storage of
fruits and vegetables with skins.

Fruit: Wash, let dry and store in refrigerator in plastic bag or
crisper. Do not wash or hull berries until they are ready to use.
Sort and keep berries in original container in crisper, or store
in a loosely closed paper bag on a refrigerator shelf.

Vegetables with skins: Place in plastic bag or plastic
container and store in crisper.

HIGH (closed) keeps moist air in the crisper for best storage of
fresh, leafy vegetables.

Leafy vegetables: Wash in cold water, drain and trim or tear
off bruised and discolored areas. Place in plastic bag or
plastic container and store in crisper.

The convertible vegetable/meat drawer can be adjusted to
properly chill meats or vegetables. The air inside the pan is
cooled to prevent "spot" freezing and can be set to keep meats
at the National Livestock and Meat Board recommended storage
temperatures of 28 ° to 32°F (-2 ° to 0°C).
IMPORTANT: To extend freshness, wrap meats in airtight,
moisture-proof materials before storing. Always store meat as
recommended.

1. Remove the rack by pulling it straight out from the shelf.

Frozen Food Storage Guide
Storage times will vary according to the quality and type of food,
the type of packaging or wrap used (should be airtight and
moisture-proof), and the storage temperature. Ice crystals inside
a sealed package are normal. This simply means that moisture in
the food and air inside the package have condensed, creating ice
crystals.
Put no more unfrozen food into the freezer than will freeze within
24 hours (no more than 2 to 3 Ibs of food per cubic foot
[907 to 1,360 g per 28 L] of freezer space). Leave enough space
in the freezer for air to circulate around packages. Leave enough
room for the door to close tightly.

1. Ouvrir les deux portes.

Aligner les languettes d'appui de la grille avec les agrafes en
metal.

trousse disponible avec un robinet d'arr_t & etrier de 1/4"
(6,35 mm), un raccord et un tube en cuivre. Avant I'achat,
s'assurer que le robinet d'arr_t a etrier est conforme a vos codes
Iocaux de plomberie. Ne pas employer de robinet d'arr_t & etrier
de s/_e"(4,76 mm) ou de type & percer, ce qui reduit le debit d'eau
et cause une obstruction plus facilement.

Replacer les deux charnieres inferieures, si elles ont ete

Une aide peut _tre requise pour faire passer le conduit d'eau
au distributeur, a travers la charniere inferieure pendant la
reinstallation de la porte du congelateur. Faire passer le
conduit d'eau du distributeur a travers la charniere inferieure
gauche avant de reinstaller la porte sur la charniere.

REMARQUE : Fournir un appui additionnel pour les portes
pendant que les charnieres superieures sont replacees. Ne pas
dependre des aimants des portes pour tenir les portes en place
pendant que vous faites le travail.

Reconnecter le conduit d'eau du distributeur en poussant le
conduit jusqu'a la butee et jusqu'a ce que les reperes noirs
soient en contact avec I'avant de I'anneau externe rouge. Voir
dessin 2. Sur certains modeles, remplacer le tube dans le
collier de serrage.

Aligner et replacer la charniere sup_rieure gauche tel
qu'indique (volt dessin 3). Serrer les vis.

Debrancher le refrigerateur ou deconnecter
courant electrique.

Ouvrir les deux portes du refrig6rateur. Enlever la grille de la
base en tirant vers le haut les coins inferieurs externes. Voir
dessin 1.

Fermer les deux portes et les garder fermees jusqu'a ce que
vous soyez pr_t a les soulever pour les degager de la caisse.

Si le refrigerateur est muni d'un distributeur (glagons ou eau),
d_connecter le tube du distributeur d'eau situe derriere la
grille de la base du c6te de la porte du congelateur. Voir le

Brancher sur une prise a 3 alveoles reliee a la terre.

A I'aide d'une perceuse electrique reliee a la terre, percer un
trou de W' dans le tuyau de canalisation d'eau froide choisi.
Votre refrigerateur a deux roulettes reglables & I'avant, I'une
droite et I'autre a gauche. Si votre refrigerateur semble instable
ou si vous desirez que les portes se ferment plus facilement,
ajuster I'inclinaison du refrig6rateur en observant les instructions
ci-dessous.

Deplacer le refrigerateur a sa position finale.

Les deux vis de nivellement font partie des montages des
roulettes avant qui sont a la base du refrigerateur d'un c6te
ou I'autre. Voir dessin 7.

Utiliser une cle a douille a t_te hexagonale pour ajuster les vis
de nivellement. Tourner la vis de nivellement vers la droite
pour soulever ce c6te du refrigerateur ou vers la gauche pour
abaisser ce c6t& Plusieurs tours des vis de nivellement
peuvent _tre necessaires pour ajuster I'inclinaison du
refrigerateur. Voir dessin 7.

A. Canalisation

Ouvrir les deux portes de nouveau et v_rifier pour s'assurer
qu'elles ferment comme vous le desirez. Sinon, incliner le
refrigerateur un peu plus vers I'arriere en tournant les deux
vis de nivellement vers la droite. Plusieurs tours peuvent _tre
necessaires et vous devriez tourner les deux vis de
nivellement de fagon egale.

Lire attentivement

toutes les instructions

Fixer le robinet d'arr_t sur la canalisation d'eau froide avec la
bride de tuyau. Verifier que le raccord du robinet est bien
engage dans le trou de W' (6,35 cm) perce dans la
canalisation et que la rondelle d'etancheite est placee sous la
bride de tuyau. Serrer I'ecrou de serrage. Serrer
soigneusement et uniformement les vis de la bride de tuyau
afin que la rondelle forme une jonction etanche. Ne pas serrer
excessivement car ceci pourrait provoquer I'ecrasement du
tube en cuivre.

Enfiler I'ecrou et la bague de compression du raccord sur le
tube en cuivre comme on le volt sur I'illustration. Inserer
I'extremite du tube aussi loin que possible darts I'ouverture
de sortie du robinet. Visser I'ecrou de compression sur le
raccord de sortie avec une cle a molette. Ne pas serrer
excessivement.
Placer le bout libre du tube dans un contenant ou evier et
OUVRIR le robinet principal d'arrivee d'eau et laisser I'eau
s'ecouler par le tube jusqu'a ce que I'eau soit limpide.
FERMER le robinet principal d'arrivee d'eau. Enrouler le tube
en cuivre en spirale.

IMPORTANT : Si on dolt utiliser le refrigerateur avant qu'il soit
raccorde & la canalisation d'eau, placer la commande de la
machine a glagons a la position OFF (arr_t).

Raccordement & une canalisation d'eau
1.

Debrancher le refrigerateur ou deconnecter
courant electrique.

FERMER le robinet principal d'arrivee d'eau. OUVRIR le
robinet de puisage le plus proche pendant une periode
suffisante pour que la canalisation d'eau se vide.
Trouver une canalisation d'eau froide verticale de
W' a 1W' (1,25 cm a 3,18 cm) pros du rdrigerateur.
IMPORTANT :

Assurez-vous

la source de

qu'il s'agit d'un conduit d'eau froide.

Un conduit horizontal fonctionnera, mais percer par le
dessus de la canalisation et non pas par le dessous.
Ainsi, I'eau ne risquera pas d'arroser la perceuse. Ceci
emp_che egalement les sediments qu'on trouve
normalement dans I'eau de s'accumuler dans le robinet
d'arr_t.

Pour determiner la Iongueur du tube en cuivre, il faut mesurer
la distance entre le point de connexion inferieur a I'arriere du
refrigerateur et le tuyau d'arrivee d'eau. Ajouter une Iongueur
de 7 pi (2,1 m) pour permettre le deplacement du refrigerateur
pour le nettoyage. Utiliser un tube en cuivre de W' (6,35 mm)
de diametre exterieur. Veiller ace que le tube soit coupe
d'equerre aux deux extremites.

necessaire pour connecter le conduit pour I'eau a une
canalisation d'eau de la maison. Enfiler I'ecrou fourni dans le
raccord a I'extremite du tube de cuivre.

Entretien des panneaux d_coratifs

Nettoyer les panneaux avec un nettoyant antistatique
(disponible dans les magasins de produits electroniques ou
d'ordinateurs) ou un savon doux et de I'eau avec un linge
doux, propre et humide.

Rincer a fond les panneaux et secher en absorbant I'eau
comme un buvard, a I'aide d'un chiffon ou d'un chamois.

d'eau s'ouvre pour remplir la machine a glagons pour chaque
programme.
Votre refrig6rateur est congu pour fonctionner plus

desiree et pour minimiser la consommation d'energie. Le
compresseur et les ventilateurs tres efficaces peuvent faire
fonctionner votre refrigerateur plus Iongtemps que I'ancien.
Vous pouvez aussi entendre des bruits saccades ou aigus
provenant du compresseur et des ventilateurs qui s'ajustent
pour optimiser la performance.

Vous pouvez entendre le moteur du ventilateur d'evaporation

vitesse du ventilateur peut augmenter si on ouvre les portes
