LY-BX30 This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Insert the shaped plug into the mains socket on the rear of the unit. 2. Connect the mains plug to a wall outlet and switch on. 3. Set the POWER switch to the ‘1’ ON position. The LED display will illuminate. 4. Press the STANDBY button on the main unit or remote control to wake from standby. Press the button on top of the handle and pull the handle /CH- /CH+ A C 11 0 ~ 2 4 0V Switching input modes Follow the below instructions to switch between Bluetooth, FM radio and LINE in input modes. 1. Press the SOURCE button on the main unit or remote repeatedly to cycle between Bluetooth, FM radio and LINE in input modes. 2. Alternatively press the BT button on the remote for direct access to Bluetooth. And the U/SD button to switch between USB and SD card inputs. Line-in input connection Follow the steps below to connect an external audio source (such as a smartphone) for playback through the party speaker.. You will need a 3.5mm audio cable or a 3.5mm to RCA cable (not supplied) to connect a device to the LINE IN input socket. 1. Connect one end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the LINE IN input socket or RCA sockets on top of the unit. Connect the other end to an earphone or line-out socket on the audio device ( such as a smartphone). MIC 1 MIC 2 LINE MIC VOL ECHO MICRO SD BASS TREBLE 2. Switch to LINE IN input. pressing the MODE button on the main unit or remote repeatedly until you see LINE on the display. 3. Press PLAY on the audio device. 4. Adjust the volume to your desired level. When connecting via the headphone output the volume of the mini system is affected by the volume control on the player. Ensure that the audio source (such as an MP3 player) is set to about 70-80% to avoid distortion. 1. Press the MODE button on the main unit or remote until you reach the FM radio mode. The display will show ‘Fn’ momentarily then change to an FM frequency. 2. Press the button on the main unit or remote control to begin an auto scan of the Fm band. Every station that is detected is saved to a preset location. 3. Use the buttons to cycle between the saved station presets. The position of the party speaker is important for a good FM reception. If you cannt receive a station you know you should be able to; move the party speaker to a different location and try the scan again. Follow the steps below to connect a USB flash drive or SD card and play mp3 files. 1. Insert a compatible USB flash drive or SD card into the USB input socket or SD card input slot on top of the unit. 2. The device will be automatically detected and the first track in folder 01 or the root of the USB/SD card will begin playback automatically. SD MIC 2 LINE ECHO MICRO SD BASS 3. To pause playback press the button on the main unit (11) or remote control during playback. To resume playback press once more. 4. To skip to the next or previous track use the buttons. USB/ MP3 information • Do not remove the USB/SD card device during playback. • Max 999 tracks and 99 folders can be recognised • FAT 16, 32 formats only. Up to 64GB in size. Press the LIGHT effect button to begin the light show. 2. Press the LIGHT button to change the lighting effect. Up to 8 preset styles. 3. The 9th press of the LIGHT button will turn off the light effect. Mic connection Follow the steps below to connect a microphone with a 1/4” jack plug. 1. Connect the 1/4” (6.3mm) plug to the MIC input on top of the unit. 2. Once connected the volume is adjusted with the MIC volume control knob . 3. The mic input also as an ECHO control. Rotate the ECHO control knob to adjust the amount of echo on the mic output. TREBLE Connecting a Bluetooth device When using the Bluetooth connection, you can listen to audio wirelessly from a Bluetooth audio device (For example an MP3 player) within 10 metres of the Party Speaker unit. 1. When in Bluetooth mode you will see ‘bt’ appear on the display and the unit searches for previously paired devices or becomes available for new connections (indicated by the BT LED flashing).. 2. Enable Bluetooth on your audio device (For example a smartphone) and search for available bluetooth connections. Select the ‘LY-BX30’ from the list. If you are asked for a pass code enter ‘0000’. The BT LED will stop flashing once connected. If you turn off either device before pairing is complete the process will need to be repeated when powered ON again. 3. Once paired an audible sound is heard through the speakers. Each time you switch the Party Speaker on and select BLUETOOTH mode the device will automatically connect, unless you have un-paired the device on your bluetooth audio device. 4. You can now begin playback from the audio device and the output will playback through the Party Speaker. 5. When using a mobile phone as an audio source and you receive a phone call the audio playback stops while you receive the call. When you hang up the audio is restored. The volume output is effected by the volume level on the audio source EG: Phone or laptop, so make sure that is set to about 70-80% (not too loud to avoid distortion). 6. To un-pair (disconnect) a bluetooth device, press the PAIR button on the remote control. The party speaker will now revert to search mode, and be available for new connections. Controlling a connected device Once connected you can either use the controls on the audio device to begin playback, skip tracks etc. Or you can use the control buttons on the unit/remote control. 1. The button on the main unit or remote control when pressed will begin playback of the selected track on the audio device. Press again to pause playback. 2. Rotate the VOLUME control dial clockwise or press the control to increase the volume output. button on the remote 2. Rotate the VOLUME control anti-clockwise or press the button on the remote control to decrease the volume output. Mute function Activating the mute function disables audio output from the speakers. Bluetooth, Radio etc will remain playing while mute is activated. 1. Press the MUTE button on the remote control to silence audio playback. 2. Press again to resume audio output once more. Bass / Treble adjustments Using the bass and treble control knobs you can adjust the sound output. Rotate each knob to increase or decrease the treble / bass level for the audio output. Problem No power Reason(s) Power cable not connected to wall socket. Solution(s) Make sure the plug is connected. Power socket is not switched on. Switch the power on. Volume is too low. Increase the volume. LINE IN/BT source volume is too low. Increase the output volume of the LINE IN/BT source. Microphone/Guitar input volume is too low. Increase the volume of either mic or guitar input. Sound is distorted Volume is too high. Reduce the volume. The remote control is not working The battery is flat Replace the remote control battery Bluetooth connection with an android device does not output sound. Some older android builds may have incompatabilty issues. Use the volume buttons on the remote control only to bypass the incompatability. Unit switches off after 20 minutes of inactivity Auto standby mode in operation. This unit is designed to enter STANDBY mode automatically after 20 MINUTES of inactivity.
